  1. I don't really like the new ones too much, sure i'll get em if i have to but if anyones seen any online shops with the old style ones still in stock can you give me a heads up. also, what forks can i get that arent bloody disc specific? Cheers, Tom
  2. I do that every time, im not gonna mess up an expensive lump of ali for the sake of saving a couple of seconds.
  3. I'm a fairly light rider on the grand scale of things i think, i never really went huge and i rolled most stuff anyway most of the time! theres sod all bike shops here, theyre full of XC bikes really like Evans cycles. Cheers for the info mate.
  4. the problem is nobody i know rides anymore, otherwise i'd be trying what i can. I say moneys not an issue, but obviously id rather spend less if i can And why would it be a no go?
  5. Did i just PM you? I thought i did but its not appeared in my sent items. Let me know if you've not got it and i'll send it again. Cheers.
  6. Ah cool, cheers. Last time i was around the only leeson about IIRC was the Clear 660 which was nice to ride, my mate had one. Ill do some checking up on that. Any more decent shops other than CRC, Tarty and Bikedock?
  7. Lesson, Iolo, Fresh what? I sort of left the game as Leeson were coming in and ive not heard of the other. And DDG and saracen, err... maybe not.
  8. Try and old toothbrush and some degreaser to clean both thread surfaces as deep as you can, then regrease and try again, it always takes me a good few goes of slackening it off when it goes tight (edit: thats not supposed to sound as rude as it does...) and trying to realign it. Gets there in the end usually.
  9. Ah nice, don't know how soon im after one though. But hint recieved! Any other suggestions?
  10. But if its a stainless steel and domed head its very easy to slip off and graunch whatevers next in line, which may cost a fair few quid. Also on smaller Dia. bolts, with the thickness of a hacksaw blade you made shear the top and and be fook'd forever.
  11. Could try a TA26, look pretty nice. How much they going for thses days? I'm not too keen on ashtons to be honest, look a bit funny.
  12. Is the head domed? could try drilling a smaller diameter hole down the centre and using some screw extractors, or if its not too tight try wedging a screwdriver in there if its not too chewed up. If its not domes try getting some mole-grips round it.
  13. It makes me want my Mk1 back If he's got it (-g.adams- i think it was, something like that) then thats more oldskool
  14. Right, i used to ride ages ago, packed up, bought a trailstar and rode a bit of street and a few long rides, blah blah blah - cutting the crap im after a trials frame again and i don't really know what choices i've got. I'm pretty tempted by the Px Ali-bongo on CRC at only £180, but being a fairly old-skool rider im not too sure about the long geometry, not that i don't like riding long bikes, i've never really ridden a long bike so maybe i'm just scared of the unknown. I used to have a Zebdi Mk1 which was pretty short and it was a great ride, anyone know of any places with any Zebdis (Not mk1's though, doubt i'd find one of those) still in stock? Any other options on what to go for, price isn't really a problem but i don't want to go crazy as i won't really ride it that much, however much i tell myself 'i will ride it all the time', so the cheaper the better. Im not gonna be going nuts so "But they crack when you do 12ft drops" doesn't really bother me. Cheer for any suggestions. Tom Edit: something i just forgot, being pretty oldskool a seat would be nice, but hey, im open to suggestions.
  15. You should so email her the SS of the list

Looking good, dont forget what goes where! You been posting this on A-S? Not seen anything, im sure as hell theyd love to see it all! My mates about to LET his mk3 GSi, bought an old mk2 GTE with a C20LET in, i think hes swapping them straight over and flogging the mk2 with the XE lump in it. And the CLET is miles better and simpler for tuning from what ive heard, very easy to squeeze power out of.

ZLET it! Isnt what-his-name off AS selling a ZLET as hes fitting the LEH out of the VXR to his coupe?
  20. WAs it bought from a dealers or privately? If its privately youve got nothing to stand on, its sold as seen and theres nothing you can do. Dealers should sort it out if they want to keep a decent reputation if its broken so soon after the sale. Although they could say you didnt take out a warranty and tell you to get lost, but just argue that youve only just bought it and its clearly something they didnt check or resolve.
  21. You can get a new alternator. Ideally you need a voltage tester to check the voltage. Sign up on a corsa forum (try www.corsa-sport.com or whatever it is) - it may or may not be a common fault with certain corsas.
  22. Check the voltage the battery's putting out, sounds like the alternator might have gone.
  23. Laney are shit, apart from the really oldskool tube amps. MEsa have a good tone but tend to sound sloppy and fuzzy without some decent rack gear. Peavey 5150/6506 or engls are where its at. Check out www.myspace.com/fellsilent for some engl recorded sounds aswell as www.myspace.com/tesseract Ive got an ashdown FA60 head and its great for the price. Add a boss NS2 and an EQ pedal and youre laughing. I can upload a clip of the ashdown if anyone wants?
