I read that news story and I can honestly say it doesn't bother me. You always see on the news of "the latest person to die at war". I don't want to come across cold hearted but....I don't care. They signed up to the army, they went to war, surprise surprise some UK people died. You never hear of how many Iraq people die. If the UK people expect processions for their dead, whats the problem with Iraq people wanting to do the same? Unless I missed the point completely and they want a procession for the talibal fighters?
  2. is it just me or do frames not need to be given a category? On my trials bike I'll ride natty, comps, street and even hit dirt jumps if given the option. I see no need to give a frame a category when the rider could choose to do anything on it.

I am going to go against the grain and say no. Those cranks don't have many threads, so by using a bash ring, you risk stripping the crank. You maaaay get away with a thin trialtech ti bash, they are about 3mm thick. Best bet is to put a bash on (or something to the same thickness) and count how many threads you have left, 7 threads should be enough to hold without stripping.

    Overated

fast cars x boxes snow jaffa cakes parties r&b monty koxx 24" bikes (26" is better ) I am not a grumpy git (well, not all the time) but the above things are well over rated in my eyes
  5. I was out on my own today, but most of the time I am riding with my house mate.
  6. not bad if used with a short stem, ashton justices were a 73 degree head angle and I used that with a 110mm stem. If you had a bike with a 75 degree head angle and used a bmx style stem that would be fine.
  7. vee brakes are the most powerful, but have the least bite. What do you want all that bite for? think about all the times your depending on the brake, when is power the most important? Stopping the bike forwards when going on the back wheel? Or when going backwards when landing gaps, taps, hooks, and just about every other move out there? vee brakes have the most holding power, power when you need it most.

the story is that he didn't know anything about it, apparently he was mentally disabled and the drug runners took advantage of him with promises of being a big pop star in china, they packed his bags for him and everything (with the drugs included). Its a bit harsh, I wonder if he managed to pass any info on about the people who set him up before his execution?
  9. Latest pic of my nearly 21 year old cat Tansy..looking a little worse for wear, but still going strong compared with my sisters 18 month old cat (Letty) who came to stay over christmas (Tansy wanted to kill her, Letty wanted to kill the squirrel)
  10. I would concentrate on being smooth. All the top riders can gap 9ft+ and they do it silky smooth too, mostly without a tuck too.
  11. I used to get mine from my local bike shop I used to work at. recently Tartybikes ordered it in for me.
  12. any shimano dealer should be able to get the cable for you, its basicly oversized gear cable (must be stiff otherwise gears would be all over the place)
  13. I would get a better cable than that, it will make a difference to the stiffness and the power of the brake.

    Commute To Work

usually 1 hour in the morning, 35miles. Done it not-so-legally in 35mins on the way home at midnight though.
  15. ok, in my experience this would be a good setup: Levers....Avid SD7 anyday, most comfy, light and very handy speed dial adjustment. Arms....Not so important, Adiv SD7 again good, otherwise shimano work pretty well too. Pads....with a grind DEFFO TNN LGV pads! work well on smooth rims too. Booster....DEFFO worth having, not really to make the brake stiffer, but it will double the holding power of the brake. there are not many out there at the mo, see if you can find a Salsa or carbon shimano booster on ebay. Cables....REALLY important I think! I now would only ever use shimano SP5 cable, it doesn't compress, can be cut to length and is very smooth.
