  1. been at the quarry this afternoon sorting out the last few sections before the comp...if all goes to plan there should be a few brand new awesome sections to ride, including rails, logs, concrete pipes and stuff, rocks, cable reels and concrete sleepers. Will be well worth entering or at least popping up to check it out.
  2. make sure you havn't clicked a faster delivery option by mistake, it shouldn't be more than a couple of pounds for delivery

    Bmx, Daft.

Same as Ben, I saw two points he made Ryan look like a dancing squirrel with no legs.
  4. cheers for popping these up adam. Dan Brooker has done some class paintjobs in the past, so I just had to have one! I had some (very) vague ideas for dan to work on, plain or off coloured main colour with some uci stripes and space to put my name and sponsors. The rest was up to him. Got the helmet back last week and I am VEEERRRYY happy! the finish is top class and I think the colours with a hint of gold work really well, I am well chuffed Cheers Dan
  5. what a day!! Last time I ever get stuck with the number 13 as my rider number!! Started off soo well, did 4 sections with two dabs dropped (one dab because I had to ride the section with my chain off!). I was unlucky and had bike troubles which stopped my ride. I did manage to steal nick goddards bike to ride the skip section (cleaned it, in the rain YAY) I am REALLY annoyed, the sections were brill and I was riding great, I recken I could have been on the podium. To top it off, I couldnt start my van after the trial, after a load of faffing (cheers the oakleys and slingers!!) it got going, only to flunk out on the motorway. The RAC guy found I had a snapped alternator belt, after more faffing I managed to finally get going again. Actually, to top that off some more, the road near my house was closed so I had to do a 10 mile detour! AAARRRGGGHHH Cheers for everyones hard graft to get the comp together, it was great!
  6. a nice effortless 360 front pivot feels amazing
  7. start with your strong foot higher and with a standing start, pedal constantly throughout crouching slightly over the front. Hit the front wheel a tad lower and jump your body a fraction before the bike gets shot up, let the bike come up under and slightly in front of you and only brake once the wheels up. if you get it right the bike will end up with you directly over the rear wheel in a comfortable backhop position.
  8. great pics mike! I never noticed matt had gotten so action man like! Got any pics into mbuk again?
  9. that bus was cool! cant wait to see the rest
  10. sure do, thats why I put them on (sarcastic git arn't I?) They are 24bikes steel risers, they feel luuush!! because the bike has a fairly long toptube, I feel you can get away with such a short stem, I can still gap and sidehop this bike no problem.
  11. I would deffo call the stems basher proof! I have done some of my biggest drops with the Trialtech stem on and I have had total confidence in it. Same with the bars, they are SUCH a nice shape, I wont be moving from these in a while. They have also lasted all my basher drops and drop gaps with ease. PS, that front brake in the pic was a whole Formula The One brake, was the best thing ever for the first two weeks, then went shit. I thought it would work well with a mono trial caliper, but I have never had any luck with hope brakes and it was shit as well. Thats cleared that up, so lets just comment on Dave's parts now eh?
  12. took the slick off as I rode brimham rocks the day before which is pretty mossy, slick will be back ok once the weather brightens up again.
  13. I was going to come up and ride on sat and do the ymsa on sunday, but it looks like I am off to birmingham on sat to sell a van, shame as I really like brimham.
  14. REALLY good in the dry, mostly sharp grippy rocks, fairly easy to puncture, so bring some spare tubes. If its wet then its particually slippery. (this is Lee Mill quarry, where the trials park is getting made btw)
  15. Brilliant! It was my first ride for DJ at this venue, I heard it was great the past years and I wasn't disapointed! The weather was ace, the objects were brill and everyone was friendly and had a great time. Was nice to meet people. Big thanks to the Jones Family, I know a lot of work went into the event, so BIG respect from me!
  16. my names not there Looking forward to the ride!
  17. count me in dave!! I REALLY need to do the rest of your comps as I haved missed them so far, I cant wait.
  18. heh heh, vince wouldnt know what hit him Even if I was picked now, I couldnt afford to go, its a shame the trials guys have to pay for everything while the xc and downhill guys get hotels paid for and such (not so in france, even the trials riders get looked after)
  19. looked like he had really bendy legs and just tucked them up in front of him, that, or he has some serious weight gaining and losing issues.
  20. there were two UCI qualifiers and the top 3 qualified to be in the team. Seems past experience and results arn't good enough (including being only the 2nd ever British rider to get to a UCI final!)
  21. still annoyed about the whole selection process for the team , I would have loved to go to Italy. Good luck to everyone though.
  22. I rode trials for 3 years using 2 fingers on each brake, I didn't know any different, so it is possible....however I forced myself to use one finger, its pretty scary at first, but its worth it, I have found it much better for control with 1 finger braking.
  23. never such thing as trying too many moves! the more stuff you can do the better all rounder you'll become. You dont want to turn into one of these new style riders who only practice 5 moves (sidehops, gaps, taps, up to fronts on rails and drops for example) If you can get to ride natural, do so as much as possible! The best natural riders in the world are also the best street riders.
