  1. is it worth putting up with that song?
  2. Wheel building isn't some black magic thing and stories of cassettes with the correct note for "some" wheels doesn't help shake it. If you have a good quality rim then all the spokes should sound the same, don't worry about getting them to a certain note or pitch, wheels vary from rims, hubs, spoke butting and number of crosses, so it's unlikely that two wheels will sound the same. If you have a lesser quality rim (most trials rims then) then you may have to tighten some spokes more than others to get a true wheel, this isn't ideal but it's just what happens, in this case the spokes won't all sound the same. Just concentrate on turning all the spokes evenly to start with, then see how true the wheel is looking and go from there. If the wheel is fairly true then you can work on getting a bit higher tension in the spokes, if it's all over the place, get it true (by tightening AND loosening the nipples) and go from there. I have access to a Parks spoke meter, but I rarely use it as it usually tells me what I already know from the feel and sound of the spokes while building.

    yeah, but it's pretty obvious that the bigger the main piston the more fluid is moved at a lower pressure and vice versa, that's schoolboy stuff there.
  4. that hop to manual was pretty massive! Sweet vid Tom, looks like you got to grips with the bike pretty well

    you're kidding right?
  6. no that it's had more work I think it's pretty darm totally rad! Some very big moves in there, you two make TGS look good.
  7. yeah deffo boobs, just when I first saw it (on my second look at the sale as I didn't notice anything unusual at first) I thought they were arse cheeks
  8. I agree with the 6 month shelf life of Hopes, I must have had about 10 Hope mono trials now and they all were great for a few months, then just go downhill and changing pads, rotors, bleeds would make never them work as well as they did when new. As for the Marta, Stan had one on the front of his bike and it was pretty good, one of the most powerful brakes I have felt actually. I think he's had a couple of leak issues but Magura seemed to changed them for him. The only thing is that Stan never really falls off, after a year of riding his rotor still didn't rub, so I can't comment on their strength.
  9. weird, I thought they were arse cheeks
  10. we ate sooooo much pork!
  11. Myself and Iolo came up with it on a ride in Sheffield back in 2004ish as a jokingly derogative thing. We didn't expect it to stick, now it's used world wide........weird!
  12. haha, I look forward to it
  13. looks fine to me, as does the chain wrap, however it still only leaves 7 teeth in contact with the chain, it could well be the hub though, it's not unheard of for them to break, just very rar, especially when they are this young.
  14. that post wasn't actually by me haha
  15. I'd be |<---------------------------------------------------this---------------------------------------------------------->| surprised if it wasn't.
  16. haha, sorry yeah....as you were
  17. the comment or ripping off bike companies?
  18. It's not about how 'tight' it's wrapped, it's about how many teeth on the sprocket come into contact with your chain. If you get a photo up that'd make it pretty clear straight away...
  19. Pro 2 T or Pro 2 Evo T hubs aren't built with that grease at all.
  20. Is that the same friend who told Neon that his bike got stolen which was why he couldn't get any photos or videos of him riding it?
