  1. good rider, but I refuse to vote for anything that involves that program. (controversy!)
  2. shows they are popular and popular for a reason
  3. might not be badly built, trials rims are shocking quality and can be really hard to get some joins to sit level.
  4. definitely the Echo for the reasons said above

    Films!?

Watched "The Exorcist" last night. This film has a lot of hype about it being scary, after watching it I think that hype is misplaced. I am a complete wimp when it comes to scary films, I get scared at even the slightest bit of suspense. I can safely say that I watched this film all the way through and not a single scene is what I would call scary. Not saying it was a bad film, but scary in the 1970's seems very different to films made since then.
  6. the last thing I broke was......actually, I can't remember what the last thing I broke was. I think it's been about 3 years since I actually snapped anything (touching lots of wood!) Edit, last thing I broke was my foot, I know it's not an item on my bike but I was on my bike at the time.
  7. congrats! There is still one thing though, looks like you need to coordinate the jump off the pedals and the foot on the tyre a little better as at the moment your front foot is coming off sooner which is making your back foot spin the cranks around which is why you are landing switch. Try and get both feet off together or at least don't keep as much weight on your back foot. trying it brakeless would be the best practice as you pretty much have to jump into it at the same time as kicking the frame around otherwise it doesn't work.
  8. not much, looks like you just need to spot the pedals a bit sooner and commit your feet to them. Practice makes perfect!
  9. Smooth as a badger! Video came out really well, you're editing is coming along nicely, it's weird that you only started editing last recently. Stan's riding is so controlled it's ridiculous plus his bike is sweeeet! Cap can go pretty huge and he can hit that style button too, shame about the rotor bashing though Ben, I did the tour on a road bike last year, I am sure a Hex will be just fine

    Comps

Yeah, that was cool BUT you didn't get points from each activity which lead to a winner with the most points. They had it so that the better you did in the trials and DH the better your start position was in the XC race. I hate the way they did that! I won the DH, cleaned the trial and came 11th in the XC race, that would have given me enough points to be classed as the best overall rider rather than 11th place. It was just a glorified XC race really.
  11. I tried to enter one once but it was deemed "too dangerous"
  12. I want to clear up any confusion on my views of comps and high bb bikes. 1) I rode comps for over 12 years, I think they are awesome. 2) I don't have any negative feelings about people who ride comps 3) high bb bikes are great for people who like them 4) I don't have any negative feelings towards people who ride high bb bikes So yeah, before people start making assumptions about me, or take any comments I have made in the wrong way, those are my feelings about comps and stuff. I personally don't like high bb bikes for the way they ride, I have always been more of an "old School" rider and I like to roll stuff and backhopping is always a last resort. The comment someone made about people just backhopping through comps is a general steriotype of modern comps, no-one actually thinks that every section can be done with just backhops, though it has to be said most modern UCI comps are less about who has actual all round bike skills rather who can sidehop, gap, tap etc the furthest. High bb bikes are good for power moves like that. When it comes to natural (with bankings and streams, not just big rocks) then a high bb bike has less of an advantage. Personally I would like to see more natural and fewer artificial sections in international comps and then see who comes out top. Maladie: You asked me to explain how a 24" bike for street riding isn't a big bmx? Well lets look at what makes it the same as a BMX for starters....... 1)they have seats 2)....... Cool, so yeah, I can think of ONE thing that makes them similar to a BMX. I guess the bikes people used to ride in the world championships with seats were big BMXs too? I've seen people do flips and 360s on seatless bikes, does that make that bike a BMX? Honestly, just think about what you are saying! The whole idea of a streetier bike is that it opens windows, you CAN do some BMX moves if you want, you CAN do trials if you want. Why ignore so much of what they are about just because you've seen riders so spins and stuff? A lot of the riders who ride these so called "big BMXs" are very good trials riders who could show a lot of TGS and comp riders a thing or two. So yeah, before you type next, think about what I have said, I am not trying to bring any negativity here, I only respond to others negativity if I feel it was un-called for. Edit: Someone also said that there was no negativity or arguments when BMX racing started spawning riders who just rode street or park or dirt jumps. Are you kidding me? The Racers HATED it! there were arguments ALL the time! Some people just don't like change.
  13. Which a few people (including Gilles) couldn't do on their high bb bikes
  14. looks way nicer with a higher bar setup, I look forward to some more vids from you
  15. as said, they couldn't be much more different! If you like to ride a big bmx as some narrow minded people might call it then get the inspired and have more fun than you could imagine. If you want to do bigger sidehops and maybe enter comps then the Echo makes quite a good seatless trials bike, I've ridden Duncan's and it's pretty nice.
  16. Ozzy? Don't see why anyone would feel the need to make an account to say that, if you have something to say then say it?
  17. Dave seems to miss or ignore a lot of points we make and miss interpret other points. That's why I said I am not sure what points he is trying to make because they seem to be a lot of the ones I have made already or agree with. He just seems to put them across in an arrogant way which seems to annoy most people who don't ride with him regularly.
  18. why does this always happen? I don't think I'm anything, I've never said I'm smarter than anyone, I've said the try-alls are good, I've not mentioned Inspired in any of this topc, WTF are you on about?
  19. I don't even know what Dave is arguing any more. I think that he thinks that we are saying the forks are no good? There was a comment made that just because Jack is a (junior) world champion that these forks are proven to be the best out there. I think Dave thinks that we are aiming a lot of comments at him when were were actually replying to the other chap. All I and others are saying is that just because Jack is good doesn't mean they are fit for everyone. They rule out everyone who ride front disc for a start. If someone rides comps to a high level, has front magura, wants a light bike and has the money to buy them, then yeah, these forks will be a good choice. If someone rides street or natural and falls off and generally scrapes the bike about, then I wouldn't recommend these forks. I wouldn't want to use them for the type of riding I do either.
