  1. American classics ;) I used to have a hope XC, they are fine, but the american classics is perfectly strong enough and a bit lighter, looks cool, and possibly a tiny bit cheaper (but dont quote me on that), and also very smooth
  2. Wow, that was pretty cool. That must have been madly hardcore back in those days..
  3. How does it ride? Didnt you have an XTP mod? ;) or am I thinking ofsomeone else...?
  4. Do most people find their grinds more modulateable than using tar? And are they at all silent, if so what rim and pads do you use? Only asking as I want a silent set up JT, does your grind make a squeak or not? I think if you aim towards getting your brake to squeak a bit it will give better bite, which is perhaps more what you want? I found this when I first got a grind
  5. Im up for coming to the comp and helping the day before too if you need any more help, as long as I can get those days off work. Scott
  6. Try washing the rim with sugar soap. I tried this the other day and WOAH it makes the brake insanely more powerful in a lot of cases if there is any contamination at all

    Pedrosa Vid

I agree, def bring out another vid soon. Seeing your and Felix Meuke's silent-brake riding lately has inspired me to probably get my new hog rim ground and perhaps run coust pads or something (im guessing the grind would last a bit longer with coust's maybe)

    Pedrosa Vid

Cool, what rims is that on? Looks like either a koxx/onza hog, or a ronnie, but I cant tell :)
  9. I think its the other way round most people find. They monty grips lately seem to be getting ripped very fast by a lot of people, Ritchey WCS grips (bit thicker) dont seem to rip nearly so much

    Pedrosa Vid

Great video, again reminds me too a bit of Felix Meuke (sp?) What rim and brakepads do you use by the way? Do you use a grind, if so harsh, medium...? Oh and how would you rate how it works for lock and modulation? I want a brake like that on my monty 221, Im fed up of loud brakes so want to go ultra-quiet, and hope it makes me ride smoother (or at least look like it)
  12. Damn, I missed the wanking material when it came after all (excuse the pun). Im off to OTN to look for it
  13. A pretty cool lil vid. I particularly liked the soundtrack!
  14. When I first met my gf 2 years ago she hated trials and loved skating, so I semi-hated her (naturally) for it (dont ask "why did u go out with her then?"- I was desperate, but now I can just about bare her.lol). But since then me and my mate have convertted her and have taught her a load of trials vocabluary. She learnt to endo and almost trackstand in no time, I swear it was faster than me.. :"> But she impresses me sometimes now that she is used to me talking about trials, she sometimes even joins in or comes out with a comment liek "Wow, look at those rocks. How amasing would it be to backwheel that one and hop to that one... etc", and we have a VERY VERY loving relationship.
  15. That is EXACTLY what happened to mine on my DH bike, also last summer, apart from mine went from the bottom upwards when I did a 3 foot drop. It was truely confusing as to how it happened, considering the force was going downwards, and the stem broke upwards, held on by a slither of metal at the top of the stem, which suddenly went solid-feeling again in the new position. Hard to explain, but it was freaky.
  16. Ive had this a couple of times, when i used to ride DH it happened once and made me stop riding for a couple/few weeks for it to clear up, but I done it again lately and had to take about 3 weeks or so off, too! Havent had any problems since though. This was also done just while I was simply backhopping by the way, and it CANED to backhop for the next few weeks if i tried to ride my bike, it was mainly that position+set of forces on the back that hurt.
  17. Woah... Thats the first time I've seen a pic of the ashton mod, and its exceeded all my expectations.. Looks amasing to me at a first glance, could be my next frame if my 221 decides to die anytime soon
  18. Hey saunders, you should get a mod, my monty 221 suited you when you rode it! I think the brisas are swish rides, but I think it was the b20d which had solved the problems, too.. but Im not totally sure.
  19. I used to run kool stops on a smooth rim with tar, and they worked fine. Apply a fair bit of tar and probably any pads have awesome bite and lock, at least thats what I find. But to me a working brake is something which has tonnes of lock but can be modulated (a pretty hard brake to get)

    My Video!

Great vid. I particularly liked the curb one- it mite have been a while ago but the style of your riding stood through and especially the opening move was class. nice 1!
  21. How tall are you? Just wondered

    New Vid...

I found the music too comical when paired with the vid, but the riding was great
  23. Ride around for a minute with the rear brake o as heavy as you can force movement with, so they get really hot. Then spray them with your hose so they hiss, it usually works a treat. Then do it with your front (or vice versa).
  24. Personally I dont have massive beliefs on it either way, it doesnt really bother me, and I wouldn't say it is that disrespectful (unless it is damaged at all), as it is a memorial for people to enjoy. However I still would not ride on one because it may upset other people nearby who it may mean a lot to. Just because I do/don't agree with the rest of you though, doesn't mean that I don't still hate you all anyway. Yours sincerely, Squitman.
