  1. Pretty good video, nice neatly landed 360 at the end
  2. Is the new video "as i roll" on the toxin with "diesel power" music? Cos i saw that aaages ago. Im real confused.
  3. Did anyone else think he seemed to have a comical voice in that? Sorta like a clothes peg on the nose or something?lol.
  4. Woahhhh low enough! How? (Y)

    Stiltskin

Youre very good for your age. Keep it up, some nice drops there :)
  6. I think the drilled onza hog rim would be fine, and they look amasing too. Also I dont think the Echo CNC front rim would be much stronger- they seem pretty flimsy and over-lightweight to me, plus they look a bit dull.
  7. Lol. I think you should definately look out for some second hand bargains, there are often hope rear wheels selling in the "For sale" section, I sold my practically brand-new red hope XC on 36 (black ) spoked onza ronnie rim for £70 not that long ago (it cost me towards £150 new :)), there are a lot that go for around that price! Its definately worth getting a hope over a shimano- I broke my XTR rear hub after a while, which I wasnt too pleased about. For the front wheel, it doesnt really matter- get something cheap and fairly light, perhaps a Mavic D521 (a.k.a. Ex721) rim, or a F519, IMO perfect front rim, and any cheap light hub. Also only bother with 32 spoke, i found 36 spoke was no stronger, it just added weight and took the nice springy feel out of the wheels. Hope that helps, Scott
  8. 49 inch? How?? Mine are 35 inches at the moment on my monty 221, pretty low I think, and thats with a 1cm spacer
  9. Most people seem to think stock is harder than mod, however I disagree. I learnt on stock bikes for ages and have only really changed to mod lately, and I have to say, for the kind of riding I do, I found stock easier. Its soooooooo much easier to land a stock on a rail as it has such a larger wheel, so you have more room for error. To do rails on mods requires some real balls! Also I think manuals and nosehops were much easier on the stock. But I prefer mod for reasons like expense- you can build a nice mod much cheaper, and also a big reason for me is the dreaded MECH HANGER, I found when you bail they always somehow found a way to hit something and band or break, I find the simplicity of running singlespeed with horizontal dropouts much more fun as you have no worries.
  10. That vinco mod looks absolutely beautiful... i hope it hasnt got too vinco-ish geometry though (like 1120 wheelbase or something stupid)! I mite stretch my budget to get a koxx perhaps as my next frame if I like the geo.
  11. IMMENSE! 1st DVD ive actually really really wanted to buy now!
  12. Ive just come from 362mm stays to 374mm stays, and I would say once you get used to them both, 374 is perhaps a tiy bit better for gapping, and a fair bit better for manuals and bunnyhops. However, if you are not going to do manuals, bunnyhops or spins at all then I would say the shorter stays have the edge but on a slightly longer frame. If it had to be a 990mm wheelbase with the shorter stays, Im not sure which would be better, as the frame would not have any "extra" reach over the frame with longer stays, to compensate for power-moves. Pedals?

Hey JT, just out of interest whats the grip and weight like on the X's? Do they look like they are built to last?
  14. Ive had 3 or 4 pairs, only snapped one cage on one of them and I ride pretty harsh I would say (although I DONT go to pedal really). They are fine as long as you keep the bolts tight on the cages, they seem to tend to undo slowly on one of two of the bolts per pair of pedals, so make sure you check them every several rides to keep them tight. I think Hognesiums will be my next choice, amasing pedals as long as you ride UCI (I ride UCI street :turned: )
  15. Oh by the way, as for the "limited edition" yellow one being longer, or nicer riding, Im not too sure about that... my black one (looked like the one in the other picture posted above) measured a 1050 wheelbase. I think the black and yellow ones have only very very minor changes between them, any riding differences would probably be only psychological, or down to spec
  16. Yeh, Monty stems do break.. and in my experience so far I would say a zoo stem is probably a little stronger, and slightly heavier (but not noticably), and cheaper. The monty stem apparently on sale now is ONLY the ti-bolts version, which is incredibly more expensive than the normal carbon-effect one (I think the ti one is around £70 or so at least).
  17. They are very strong and generally good frames, I had one for aaaages, learnt almost all of my trialsing abilities on it so far, but moved into mod riding and sold it a week or two ago. You can pick the old ones up very cheap now, an excellent idea to look into them! The quality of these frames are really very good, as you would expect from a make such as Giant which has such a hold on the general cycling market, and therefore a large budget. Weight is also pretty low. However, if you have a bit more money to spend, I would check out the latest giant trials team (the one with the curved tubes, longer wheelbase, shorter rearend, slightly lighter, etc- more "regular" trials geometry, but I bet it rides really, really well)
  18. Looks liek you done a good job of it, but I dont understand why you did it, or would want to. But yeh, I wouldnt have known it wasnt made that way, so pretty smoothly modded.
  19. Lmfao. Good weeveling out of it there Davey boy.
  20. Cheers for the link tart... I decided to check out the other stuff on that site... Shame my mum walked in on me while I was doing so, and didnt fail to notice what I was doing. *begins to sob*
  21. Yeh I agree a leeson would suit you nicely! Cool vid, I liked the bit at the end where you hopped over the bike in particular. Good luck with getting back into trials andIm sure the old skill will come back pretty quickly! Cheers, Scott
  22. That looks liek it would ride soooooooooo nicely, especially that shot of you preloading into a sidehop. I could imagine trying to sidehop it over that car or something, it looks so trialsy..
  23. Great vids. What pads do you use, and do you use a grind? I liked the Craig-inspired move.lol. Cheers Scott
  24. That yellow revell looks really really nice, good choice of parts ;)

    Saracen Mad

Woah, that looks actually really nice with the new setup, looked OK before but now very nice. The pure forks really suit it. Hows it like for manualling, and hows it like for backwheel control out of interest?
