  1. Sorry to be pedantic but your both wrong. That picture of the two frames is actually the 26" version. Look nice though, guess we'll have to see if they take to the market properly.
  2. Whenever this has happened with me mate, taking the pads out and sanding the surface flat always sorts it out. Unfotunately you do lose a bit of material, but it almost always sorts the problem and riding with slightly less material but a trustworthy brake is better than leaving it how it is.

I used a system x one on mine for a bit, about 90-100mm with some rise too and that felt alright. But when i got my lower and longer 120mm one it was much, much better! I am rather tall though so 100-110 would probably be better. The echo stems are good if you have oversize bars, but if not you should be able to pick up a raceface stem or something similar that'll be around the same geometry.
  4. 6'5" What you think its photoshopped or something? Thats 100% pure mean tuckage
  5. It was unofficially known as the koxx camel. Purely because someone photoshopped a pair of camel legs onto it and a camel head and made it hook a wall The idea never really took off though and as far as i'm aware the blue polygonal mod bike trasher posted was a different bike but with the same basic design.
  6. But shouldn't it be named "important", "useful" or "elite" member then as opposed to senior, as they haven't been around on the forum for ages making posts regularly, if they have made 100 posts they aren't a senior member, they're helpful. I don't think the term "senior" member fits really, and its something i've never really understood the naming for. I guess i'd just imagined a senior as someone who'd been around for a long time, same as the way the term senior person is used in real life. Honestly, i think it needs something. Theres frequently members who miss validation despite being completely worthy of it and as the forums popularity is still increasing there'll be more and more new members which makes it harder for you guys. I'm not trying to say your doing a bad job at the minute, but i'm sure you can appreciate how much help a couple of NMC specific mods would be.
  7. I reckon being senior should be to do with your post count as well. Like JT said, he's been around the forum for ages and i can't remember him ever being a dick to other members. He's always helpful and polite and has obviously been around here for a long while to rack up that post count. I think it should be something along the lines of get to a certain amount (really high obviously) and then you get put up for nomination of being a senior member, maybe hold a simple yes or no vote in chit chat or something?
  8. I knew all of them except the prototype bits, just didn't want to mention them, as last time senior chat printscreens were posted there were loads of bits blanked out.... i figured you guys wanted to keep them secret.
  9. I was very impressed with the snowy pads when i used them, and the cnc backings have been fantastic, a really great product. I've seen people using the heatsink reds and blues and have used them both briefly first hand, also very impressed with them. I think despite being cheaper than other pads available, steves products are exceptional in performance and in the majority of cases out-perform the more expensive pads. They're definately good pads to buy
  10. Ha ha, ermm. Dunno if i'd want to, the power might go to my head and next thing i know i'm wearing a green suit and scary whilst flying around on a hover board. Seriously though, its nice to see someone say that about you so thank you.
  11. Same as normal forum sections, just a list of topics and you can make posts like normal. Its nothing that amazingly special.
  12. A team of 2-3 people could manage that quite easily. It should ease up the jobs of the current mods/admin and there'd also be less chance that people will be stuck in new members chat for such a long time. I do use the report button to bring people to the attention of the powers that be if they look like decent people and type properly. I did it just the other day and the guy was validated within 6 minutes of me using the report button, with a nice welcoming post from the mod that validated him. Although such a system would currently work as not a great amount of members do it, if it were to become more commonly known i'm sure there'd be reports left right and centre off people who want their friends to be validated, which would just be creating a new problem entirely. I think this is why the VQC idea isa better option.
  13. Looks great mate, so sunny and warm. Bit different to the miserable shit we've got here at the minute, bet you got home and wished you could just turn around again Looks like some mental riding places too, one day when i'm rich and a better rider i might try and convince you to take me too
  14. Got really, really pissed one night. Brought a girl back somehow, after a load more mixed drinks downstairs we ended up going upstairs... she put a film on and chose its all gone pete tong. Well we were on the bed sobering up a bit before sex and in the film he ends up in this tiny room stinking of his own shit and piss. This made me physically sick myself and i was sick on her arm, all over myself, the bed and some of the floor. Shew very casually asks without opening her eyes "did you just throw up", and i very sheepishly and almost in a drunken proudness said "maaaaybe.... well... yep, i sure i did". Ended up taking her clothes off (result) because she had sick on her and as i took the bed sheets off she threw up out the window too. Both stinking of sick and pissed off our trolleys we just went to sleep Seeing her at my mates house like 2 days later was briefly quite embarrassing, especially as she started with "well... the other night......" you can guess what followed. Friends found it hilarious.
  15. Ah ha ha. Good advice, but slightly off topic i think. Just ride into it. Leave it far too late and gently bump the top on something small at first, then as you progress go full on into it ben travis style.
  16. Only because i'm far too tall for that bike
  17. Jonnymc in the background! Me... ... tucks are shit In the rain, on boumsongs bike and wrong foot forwards.... on marble
  18. Just in case nobody could find a nice picture of them. I won't be getting one, no point replacing the RB yet.
  19. Some people still ride in the wet though, it'd make a difference there. Some people pinch gap on the last inch of a wall, it'd make a difference there and some people like to try things they might not make, in which case it'd definately make a difference there. At the expense of the minimal difference between wear rates i'd say its not going to make a difference to the wear life, but every little bit of extra grip helps. So why not? It could be all the difference between making your highest tap ever or just simply slipping down it.
  20. I have the same opinion as mark. Although i'm only entry level with a 400d i prefered the layout and menu system to the equivalent offering from nikon. It also has the self cleaning lens feature, which swayed me (the nikon of similar price didn't have it) as aside from that, theres really not much difference in the cameras. Theres also the issue of nikon lenses being "slightly" more expensive as the nikon lacks an in built automatic focusing system in the body.
  21. Because the shape of the tread allows for more friction depending on which way round the tyre is fitted. The treads are similar to a circular saw blade, if you fit it the right way it'll cut properly as the teeth will dig in and force the material out the way, if its fitted the wrong way it might still work, but it won't be as good. The maxxis tyres are designed with grip and easy rolling in mond, so they can be used on both wet muddy surfaces and harder road-like surfaces. Seeing as you don't travel very far in trials you can fit it the wrong way and the life span won't be that much different yet the grip will be increased. Its simple logic really, if you don't get it... your an idiot.
  22. He he, well... sometimes i've found that putting them in boiling water doesn't completely break the glue bonds, so they're still stuck in some places. When you go to pull them out bits tear off and your left with useless pads. Sticking them in the oven, 120-160'ish and taking them out regularly (every 2 minutes or so) to check see if they will come out is the best way to do it. They heat up just the right amount so as not to damage the rubber, but to turn the glue sticky. This means they just easily slide out which is nice. Obviously take them out using a towel or pliers as they WILL be hot! Then just either push an allen key through the clip hole or use another pair of pliers to grip the material while the other pair is holding the backing and simpley pry it out. Be prepared to for the pads to take between 10 and 20 minutes to break the glue bonds, as the glue varies depending on the pads. Don't stick them in an leave them there either, as you may find it was too long and the pad material has gone gooey while you've been away, regular checking IS required.
  23. At uni it gets left in the spare bedroom, and at home its in the outside patio area. never lock it up because nobody ever tries to get in.
  24. Unfortunately the mods/admin don't see everybody who is worthy of validation and can't always be sat in new members looking for people to validate. If you find someone worthy of validation, use the report button to bring them to the mods attention and put something like "worthy of validation?" in the comment box. It'll make life easier for the mods and people won't be stuck in here for so long, its a win-win situation.
