I thought that was because of the air reacting with the top layer of the water , if thats true then it shouldn't do it in a magura because its a sealed system . Don't quote me on that though.

I wonder how much he owes ebay for sellers fee's?
-
Well i didn't say the shop was so good, did i? But i would imagine its because the windows 2000 comes in a box and the xp one comes in a cardboard sleeve, like an oem package.
-
Yes it does. I would say maybe go with the mbf, but i managed to bomb mine out a fair few times, and it gained a couple of dents (15 or so), my ronnie is exactly the same width and only has one small dent at the minute. i would say go with the ronnie but its up to you.

PC world is a rip-off with ost of their products anyway, and a box obviously isn't that important which is apparant by the way the guy doesn't even want an official cd.. he's been downloading it. It's not hard to fit new case fans at all, a chimp could do it. My tiscali seems to be alright, unlimited broadband at 2.2mbps and its only £14.99 a month. I've had a massive downloading spree lately so i will let you know if we get charged extra or anything silly like that. i doubt we wil though.

I would really not use a crack on xp, Its better to just use an official copy like siders said. This is a local shop near me who i bought my pc from last year and they sold me the oem copy of xp with a piece of hardware that i bought (new case fan £3.99 and £1.99 mouse). There should be some shop near you that will do the same kind of thing. Safer than downloading anyday, and not that expensive.

Although i can see what you mean i don't think your quite right with it, water (H2O) consists of oxygen molecules but it isn't the same thing as air. Water is a liquid and air is a gas, so they are both different despite being similar in their build. The oxygen molecules that make up water aren't little bubles of air they're a part of the water on a microscpic level. So small in fact that it isn't the same as having an airbubble in your brake. Hope that was friendly enough for you waynio I think the best thing that you can use is de-ionised water that comes in a big container from wilko's for about £1, If you leave it before you use it and don't shake it around before you suck it up with the bleed kit syringe it shouldn't have many air bubles in at all, if any.

thats the only way dude, unless you want to wait till it squeals and doesn't work because you've worn it down to the metal. How do you check normal magura pads... you look at them. Its not like its really that hard or anything.

I got a new foam dish scrubber (with the abrasive and soft sides on it) and put a little bit of washing up liquid on it, i then soaked it in warm water and cleaned the rotor with it. then dried it with a clean cloth. I turned the gas ring on and held my pads in the flame for a few minutes, they start smoking and go black and sometimes set on fire as well, then i stuck them into a pan of boiling water (you'll know its hot enough when the pads start jumping around in the pan). I took them out the pan and dried them off on another clean towel and then put them back on my brake. Bed it in as normal slightly holding the brake on as you ride then pour cold water onto the disc after its been held on for a while to get warm. After all this hard work you should be rewarded like i was with a brake that performs much better than it did before. I don't think boiling pads changes the magnetism in them at all. I don't even think thats possible, mine were certainly fine. Maybe you did something else to them.
-
I agree with this guy, i ran a new chain and rear cog with my old mech and it was aweful kept jumping under the slightest pressure, as soon as i put my fresh products tensioner on it was fine beacuse the chain was so tight. Hasn't skipped since .
-
Thats crap, water won't compress in your brake any more than oil will, which it won't at all. I think the system is also only designed to be run with original Magura pads, but i'm betting you aren't running black pads or kool stop pads are you? I think if it gets in car brakes, because they're discs they get hotter same as my front disc, so the water will boil inside and can cause all sorts of porblems, but a hs33 won't get as hot so its fine. It's not really about saving pennies at all, it feels nicer... end of. P.S. I run water as well by the way.

Even my nan and grandad know that its a pretty bad idea to open an attachment from someone they don't know. And they scan every attachment before opening it even if its from someone they do know. It's not exactly rocket science is it?

So a top of the range pc won't be better at playing games? I mean its not like its gonna be designed to play them with something along the lines of dual top end graphics cards. Those alone should be better than anything the ps3 has to offer. Plus the guy didn't ask about prices, he just said which would have the better graphics capabilities. PC's will always beat the ps3 because you can go into how a game works and change pretty much everything it has to offer graphics wise. Take far cry for example, you can go into the settings on that and customise how much detail will be showed at different distances and you can set the levels of filtering and particles shown etc. With a ps3 someone will have done all this when the game is made so it will play better on the console, most likely at the sacrifice of graphics details.
-
Yeah a pc would definately be better graphics wise if it was a top of the range computer. Firstly, if its a top of the range computer you will have a much more powerful processor in there than there will be in the ps3. This will allow for the machine to handle higher framerates at higher resolutions, Then there is also the fact that you could get two 7800gtx cards running in sli mode so there's two graphics cards in there as opposed to the ps3's one card. You can also overclock a pc to make it run faster, which i would imagine is pretty much impossible for the average home user to do on a ps3.

doesn't matter now, got it sorted.. thread can be locked.

Right my mate has just got a wireless network kit (speedtouch wirless gateway router) and a new pc with windows xp, he also has an internet enabled mobile phone and a laptop thats running windows me. The xp computer has managed to find the network and it can connect to the internet and everything but the laptop can only connect to the network (it registers that there is a wirless network and is receiving about an 80% signal from it) but it cannot connect to the network. The xp computer has the network monitor on it, which seems tobe web based and the monitor cannot seem to pick up the laptop computer. anyone got any ideas on what it could be? cheers kris

I think you'd have to be pretty stupid to open an attachment from someone you don't know that contains a zip file and once extracted it turns out not to be pictures at all but an executable file, so u think "what the hell, i'll just see what it is " If your that stupid you deserve to get it, unless its a really nasty one.. i don't think anyone deserves the hassle they give out. Cheers for the intel though.

A purpaturtle for me, a shot of blue tropical sourz and a shot of red aftershock. It goes purple hence the first part of the name and gets you drunk so thats why the second half is a bit random. It tastes strong and fiery when you first neck it but if u wait it out for about 15 seconds withut swiggin anything else to wash the flavour away, then your mouth will turn really sweet and nice. By far the best shot i've ever had. Or u could go old school with a shot of vodka and sambuca.

what he said only slightly ammended

okay its sorted now, i splashed out on a shadow conspiracy half link chain and only used one of the links in my kmc kool k710 chain, it's done the job completely and if anything the half link looks stronger than any of the kmc links. I'm well chuffed now the fresh products tensioner is on and sorted and feels much more solid than a sprung tensioner, the chain line feels immensely rigid when i'm gapping and hopping about.

lol, is it pink ring holes that does it for you then nadine? not the best trials shop in the world, i dont think any decent trials shop would have the try-all rear mech in stock. Who would buy it?
-
If your looking at buying a new one then probably somewhere like bikedock will sell them for around £250 and it will be the most current one available (2006), or you could have a look in the for sale/ wanted section on here for one. Or even ebay, they seem to pop up quite frequently on there.

There's also the fact that the longer it is the further you have to move your feet so if you were actually able to tell the difference between having an extra 0.5 mm on the end of your crank your foot would have to travel further, this makes it harder to acheive the same fast burst of speed thats needed for good gaps. The same can be applied to short cranks however, the shorter it is the more of a burst you can put on the pedal stroke but the less actual power physical gets put through. With this in mind i reckon you'd want something in between to acheive the best of both sizes, as with most things in biking it's to do with compromise... do you go for loads of power but crap acceleration or loads of acceleration with crap power to it. So unless you are a lanky legged and big footed monster like myself i reckon a 170mm crank should suffice for most people. But if your like me maybe a 175mm would be better. However, this is all based on the unlikely reality that you will actually be able to tell the difference. It won't enable you to suddenly go an extra 2-3 inches further than you can already.

Shit thats harsh, i agree it's gotta be someone close to him to know its there really. Unless he had a wild party or someone is playing a not very cool joke on him. There was a time when all the locals near me would stick any bike that was just lying around, up into the nearest tree. I think something like a week was the longest anybodies bike was in a tree for. A new idea for trials bikes a shock dampened GPS transmitter that sits down at the bottom of a seat tube seeing as we don't use them properly. Or a flexible one that can be tucked around your bottom bracket in your bb shell. It would soon put a stop to theft. If the government can fit them into the soles of shoes then we can fit them into a bike somewhere. james bond stylee
