  1. i always grind my rim one haded, the other hand holds my slightly defalted tyr out the way and my bike lying on its side holds the wheel still. Just go for it... its not like they have a sign anywhere telling you not to do it. Just go for it and stop if someone official asks you to. i wud tell ur mates though so they don't think youre going for a powerball world record and rush in to see it only to get metal filings in their eyes. it'll be hard to explain why all your room mates have a sudden case of chronic blindness.
  2. A dragon/dinosaur that had a head and tail poking out of oddly arranged bricks. also pedal hopped over the gap between the landing and take off of my local trails.. that was just plain wrong. :) gapping along a set of 3 bmx's (Y)
  3. made out of Ti though? I don't remember seeing a Ti adamant frame for sale anywhere... Nice one guys looks pimping!
  4. I'm in, I'll spend a fiver on a present. I don't want someone's old bike parts... unless its an rb lever or shimano carbon booster but that might be unlikely. No xheesey t-shir for me either, i have enough bloody t-shirts. God i really do sound like a mardy arse don't I? :P But yeah i'm in, with a fiver ready to spend. Edit: T-F changed C.U.N.T into fanny and it made my self abuse sound camp. :P :P
  5. So at the minute do you use a cable splitter? like one of these somewhere along the brake line so the one lever pulls both brakes? available from here if you don't already have one link to monty oil compensator/splitter You could use a longer lever, something like a filed down rb lever in an 04 magura body or and actual rb lever or even one of the nice cnc'd levers made by Todge and available on the freshproducts site link to fresh site i don't know if the lever is currently available to buy yet though. Sorry i don't know anything about larger pistons or anything, but i hope it was at least some help all the same.
  6. Yes there is a black cap on the very end of the lever, obviously not the end your finger holds onto. this will adjust how the brake feels. Also quite often mine feels quite squidgy until i lift up the front wheel so the lever is lever and pull it a few times, then it seems to get its normal nice feel back, which i reckon means mine needs rebleeding. Also the pads are magnetic, thats how they stay in. there were magnetic when you took them out and are still magnetic when you put them back in, quite a cool idea and one that i had never seen until i bought my louise not long ago. They are only magnetic towards the piston bits though so they aren't "repelling" against the rotor, also if the pads were containated they wouldn't make the lever pull all the way to the bar, they would still feel the same but with a lot less grip/power. firstly i would try using the reach adjuster on the lever, if it doesn't work come back and let us know.
  7. I also play counter strike source and succesfully think i could prove a worthy oponent of anyone on here, I think we should organise a match to sort out all these "i could kick all your arses" type comments. In a completely non geeky style though, under no circumstances is anyone going to even hint about uploading levels to servers or creating specific servers or say things like ha your toast just landed butter side down!
  8. I have norton personal firewall and microsoft firewall, but whenever i try and play any games over the internet with the norton firewall switched on it cocks up and random things happen whilst i'm trying to play (like people being there one minute and completely gone the next, or on counter strike it never lets me choose a team because the menu won't work). So i turn norton on for general browsing and only keep microsofts firewall running whilst i'm playing games. :P :P by the way norton has saved my computer a couple of times, little messages saying "an attempted attack on your computer has been blocked.. to view details click here" their usually trojans though, or like the ones off the tartybikes site a couple of weeks ago. But they never appear on my computer after i've played games so i just presumed they only appear when i'm browsing the internet, i would quite like for someone who actually knows to explain whether or not this guess was right? :)
  9. ha ha :) Thats me isn't it ben? I wouldn't say i was a harsh rider i just forget to land properly sometimes, but the ronnie may have a small tiny dent on the left side of the rim (adjustable spanner will have it sorted in about 3 seconds). I really do need to run higher tyre pressures. :P
  10. I tap in my own very weird way. i start about 2-3 bike lengths away then rotate my cranks so my bad foot is forwards lean back a bit so my head is lower down start peddling, i usually get 1 1/2 crank turns in before i'm near the wall (explosive starts = better taps) and i pull up like a bunnyhop when i'm near the wall so my wheel hits it on the way up as my wheel hits i try and stamp on the peddles if my reflex's are fast enough or if i just don't forget to. then i jump up and all of a sudden my bike is up the wall, so i just push the bars forwards to keep me up and i ride away i'm gonna try and get a very good clip i have of austin tapping, its pretty good. will edit in a minute. *EDIT* okay here you are, its a clip[ of austin doing a silly high tap with an overhanging ledge. once in normal speed then slowed down so u can take a closer look. click the link and its the austin tap clip or something to that effect (link) feel free to have a ganders at my other vids as well if your bored :)
  11. ahh bail, was a nice idea though for a couple of minutes
  12. okay this is designed for use with the specially designed frame but its still a 68mm rim. looks pimping as as well when you look at a picture of the bike with these wheels on (main page) click this link (link) and then click on large marge. looks like a beast. Anybody reckon they could get one into their frame?
  13. Right after trying to get some ebc reds for my louise from allterraincycles and being sent the greens instead then being told that they can't get them in stock at the minute anyway i decided to have a look at the ebc brakes site (here). I clicked on the "where to buy" button to be taken to this page (link) so i could see a list of all the people who "officially" stock the ebc pads. I chose to use the brakes4u shop, partially because the logo was bigger and stands out a bit more than the others but also because its kind of like a biking world version of phones4u which always have good adverts (yes i know it is a very silly method of logically choosing a shop) I clicked the link to be taken to the shops main page (here) After a brief scan through the intro bit i noticed they'd been working with brake parts for 17 years so i figured they must know what they are doing. I chose the mountain bike category in the drop down menu and then clicked next. It then gave me a fairly large list of different pads and bits for brakes which i was fairly impressed with as they seemed to have every brake i could possibly think of. Later upon phoning them i was informed that they can get pads for any brake model that ebc make pads for within 1-2 days if they don't have it in stock already. i confirmed my order and entered my card details and received a 10% discount (which is applied to all web orders) on the price before V.A.T. had been added and then payed via paypal (credit/debit card is also accepted should you wish to use it). within a few minutes i had my conformational e-mail from paypal and a conformational e-mail from brakes4u with my invoice and to let me know they would only contact me if there was a problem with my order. My order was complete as of 14 novemeber 2005 21:57 and all i had to do now was wait to see how fast their free delivery was. Wednesday morning i had this through my post box (obviously sealed) and i was very impressed as its the same kind of delivery speed that chainreaction is known for. So now I have a set of red EBC pads now for the bargain price of £12.63 If you have any queries and should wish to ring them they are very cheerful and happy to answer questions over the phone. All in all a very good service for an awesome price, sorry if i seem to have gone on for a while but i thought this might be of interest to anybody who wanted/needs some more ebc pads and doesn't want to spend more than £15 on them. I know i will definately use this shop again next time i want to get some disc pads because I could not fault them at all.

cheers for the comments lads, i want to try and make thrashed 6 pretty special so it's only going to have really impressive lines and hopefully awesome editing to go with it.
  15. I'm Another ODI Longneck user, though i cut the flanges off mine because they irritate the tits off me.
  16. my mate had a song on his ipod that played fine on his computer and miy computer but whenever it played on his ipod photo it froze and he had to wait till the battery had fully drained till it could be charged up and used again. He was mega gutted the next day when it was on random and chose the song again, he had to let a fully charged battery drain away. It took something like 3-4 days. Yay!
  17. EBC make them, you can get them in +20mm to convert say 160mm to 180 or +4omm to convert a 160 to a 203mm rotor (i know its 3 mm over 40 but there we go (Y) ). Theres usually some of them on ebay and theres almost always some disc rotors going for fairly decent prices on ebay. Alternatively you can try the woolly hat shop www.woollyhatshop.com they sell A2Z disc rotor conversion kits at a standard price and i think they also sell different style rotors as well Or even wiggle do them www.wiggle.co.uk you might also be better off trying some new pads first, everyone seems to recommend the EBC red pads. This is what i have just bought but i have to wait till tomorrow before the postman brings them to me. I would imagine that you will notice the power difference with a larger rotor but you might be better off trying new pads first. thats what i'm doing and my 160mm disc is on a stock bike as well.
  18. I have a seat that i can actually sit on but sometimes its just plain comfier to just sit on my tyre.
  19. I can do about 7 ft now between two walls, with a dead grind and a bald tyre on a 1040mm wheelbase bike with a medium sized stem with me being 6'5"

cheers, my base is pretty scratched on the downtube, but i don't bail very often so its looking quite clean still. I do miss the summer, but wet weather riding is a bit more of a challenge so that could still be fun as well. That bail at 2.45 did hurt quite a bit, and i'm so pleased i made it in the end as i've been trying it for absolutley ages. c'mon people 170 odd topic views and one reply, thats a bit stingy (Y)
  23. I agree, i think that it is much more likely that the original diagnosis was incorrect. However time will tell as they will be able to find out easy enough by the antibodies that the guy will have for HIV if he really did manage to heal himself. Would be pretty good if he has though.
  24. apparantly midland mainline and central trains can charge you £3.50 for each additional bike you take on the train. The ticket guy on the train told me that when i took my mates bike up to town for him so he could meet me there and we could go riding. He was nice though and let me off seeing as its not clearly stated anywhere. just try and be polite about it and they should be fine with you, but i would suggest booking the bike if so many people have had problems with virgin trains before.
  25. My head has been saved by a helmet three times now, i never go out riding anymore without it, unless i'm riding to the shop or something like that. At least if you wear a helmet and hit your head you'll still be able to look back and think about how silly you looked in it, if you don't wear one and hit you head you won't be able to think about anything again EVER!
