  1. I hate those moments, I had a similar thing happen when a wang in a Clio came sliding round a corner T1Rs were awesome for me, as were Vredestein Sessantas.
  2. Surely using an old indicator housing and then making a neat duct would look a ton better?
  3. Looks a damn sight better than when you started, whats with the missing indicator housing? I see the indicators are moved lower in the bumper so ermmm, there appears to be a gaping hole not doing much
  4. BB drop may be an issue with standard length trials forks as well as the rest of the geometry not being that well suited either. A temporary solution yes, not a long term thing
  5. My wheels need refurbishing and since I have a spare set of wheels I can get on with sanding down them whilst waiting for next months pay. I am getting tempted to go for gold centres with off white lips A mixture of these two I guess: I'm keeping the stock wheels and i'm not after polishing the lip although painting it a bright silver is an option with gold centres (i really like the gold ) I can't seem to find a decent photo of a white and gold mix on wheels anybody good with le photoshop?
  6. I just read it too, chaps got skills!
  7. I'm assuming by harness adapter you mean to convert the focus to ISO? Usually you have to buy an adapter harness to get the steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket radio (if its even compatible with steering wheel controls that is)
  8. Cars done over 200 miles since the pulling apart session, it is a rather pleasant feeling that it works and that what I replaced has fixed many issues. You've come a long way little white car with your stained paintwork, rotten seals and knackered out everything. Body work and interior need love next and this should be a solid example of a poor mans Porsche
  9. I've done them before, it's easy and never had any issues with them
  10. I think it's because people don't know how to take care of the engines and they end up with massive rebuild costs resulting in a fear of owning one due to high running costs. There's been some cool conversions with them using regular engines Out of interest Sam, why are you putting that much effort into a standard civic? Surely you could buy a better one for not much anyway?
  11. Met with some other porsche owners tonight, had a very good time getting to the meet as I was late therefore had a rather spirited drive there. Car was fantastic apart from my exhaust is reverberating loads, so I need to check that tomorrow. I still have a slight bit of lumpiness left to sort when travelling at low speeds, fairly sure it's the CVs or the gearbox as both have play in them and there's not much else that can cause it. Hopefully I'll score some free/cheap off some people in the club
  12. Plus gas is a awesome, we use it on the farm equipment all the time
  13. Shush, how the heck was I supposed to know?
  14. It works so happy! Just got a few niggles to sort but nothing major. Going to try and book it in for tracking tomorrow, got a feeling it's well out after having everything apart haha
  15. It's injection, no leaks as far as I can tell, everything is timed properly too! I just can't work it out
  16. Yeah but I can't wait! I've 'fixed' it now, seems to be plenty strong enough. I just can't get the sodding thing to start, it backfires with a huge bang, sometimes the intake pipes pop off!
  17. I give up. The cars complete but now the tensioner threads have stripped out of the mount so no chance of getting it going currently. Nobody locally seems to do helical kits, and I've lost motivation to even bother with it, I think it'll it in the workshop and I'll return to it in he summer with a fresh head and some cash
  18. Well it is all reassembled now, just got to fit the exhaust and check over everything before trying to fire her up. Fingers crossed!
  19. Yeah it's torque tube, of which the new one is in as is the rear subframe. Just the box and a few others parts to go on out back and I can finish off doing the engine bay. I will be glad when this is all over....
  20. Thanks chaps, I'll get on the case shortly! Box out: Beam down: TT out: Well that wasn't nearly as bad as I feared, however I anticipate reinstalling will require more swear words! Old TT had well tired out bearings, grease was dribbling out of one of them!
  21. Manifold and other heat affected parts painted up I have now got the engine back in, this meant cutting the input shaft on the dead TT as I didn't want the hassle of fitting it properly if it wasn't staying! I had to put the engine in as I needed the front back down to gain access to the back end. I still have to fit all the other bit and bobs but they can wait for now or until i'm stuck. Front subframe got a degrease and wash, check out the oily skank that came off in the barrow! Back to the ground Back end is up, exhaust has been removed and lots of plus gas applied to the bolts. I have to hammer in my spline tool to fit the bolt heads for the drive shafts, there's so much poop in each one this seems to be the only way to guarantee they don't mash the heads up. I have done 2 so far, then caved in and decided sleep and some daylight to work in would be a good thing.
  22. I had it once, no demons or whatever though. It's scary regardless, I'd rather it didn't happen again!
