  1. Crikey, thats a rather bizarre mix of parts! I have a bianchi xc full build that you can have for very little, you would be able to retain your teeth with it too
  2. I don't understand why it even needs that tensioner? It has horizontal dropouts?
  3. Hopefully that'll settle and lower a touch more. Are your wheels poking out a bit? Just spent £100 on a s/h wiper mechanism and another wiper puller as dad couldn't find mine in the shed There goes any hope of getting my bumper resprayed/replaced over easter. Fudge
  4. Eurgh, the other day some fools decided they would fold up everybodies wipers on the cars on my street. That wouldn't usually bother me as it's often pretty harmless but I now have a wiper problem. I was hoping they had just popped out one of the linkages but they have managed to break the alloy casting where the passenger side mounts up. Nobody wants to sell a seperate one so far so I'm looking at £80+ secondhand minimum for a kit without a motor or £130+ new. Going to get my parents to post me my wiper arm removal tool and see if I can bodge something up using some washers and chemical metal for now, can't afford to be buying new bits right now
  5. I might just order some of those Surly horizontal dropouts, shoul fit my Pashley perfectly
  6. That looks spot on, nice one!
  7. Love 3D printing, had some stuff made up for uni (£600 worth....) I'm going to use that video in my year 13 lesson on friday, cheers!
  8. For what car? I thought you had a 106?
  9. I designed and built an electronic gear system for single armed users if he is interested in it?
  10. Change it for one that actually looks nice, that one just looks a bit cheap and horrid
  11. It doesn't sound as chavvy as I was expecting from the way you talk about it. That's a good thing. The R Tech sticker ruins the clean look of the car which is a shame as you obviously put lots of effort into keeping it tidy George I made a tool for the rear bushes if you ever need to borrow it
  12. Can't guarantee I still have it but I will certainly look if you remind me nearer the time
  13. Fairly sure I do, but I won't be able to check until I get back for Easter which i'm guessing is too late for you. Can't believe how much they are on eBay!
  14. I recomend Nanotechs/Exotic flats (same thing) or Wellgo B38s. Both have a slimmer profile than DMRs, lighter, stronger body and the broader platform is so much more supportive on your foot. I have had several pairs of V8s and wellgo copy v12s in the past and found them to be decent enough but the platforms are too small to be comfy as well as them being rather weighty!
  15. So I had a ride today and it just felt so awful with the low front end as expected. A quick parts rumble and some swapping of bars from my girlfriends bike sorted me with a 2cm higher setup (Kore freeride bars and a cnc 80mm stem with a bit more rise). Quick ride in the living room revealed that it felt like a totally different machine! Far better feeling, and the bars are more comfy. I Still feel like I need more room so I have a 100mm stem to try out and see what that feels like. XT calipers make the brake squeal like hell, annoyingly the SD7s I bought don't have the pins in them for tensioning and my bodge repairs failed so i'm stuck being a noisy bugger for a while. Rear brake does work well though and swapping over to the fred salmon booster has made it nice and solid.
  16. Ah that makes sense! Didn't think of that
  17. Good work, Any way you can get some better shots of the helmet? Those photos don't really fit in with the rest of the images on there and it's an interesting design to show
  18. Shimano carbon booster on the fork....why? Bike looks bang tidy!
  19. That looks really good Tom, thats the kind of HT I want to build when I have some money! What are the Mountainkings like? Is that a Vertical upfront? My Rubber Queens are just too tall for my frame/forks, I need more clearance but I realy like how the Queens feel....
  20. Rockrider 6.3 with upgraded everything (apart from frame, seat, rims and headset). Really good budget ride Spec: Rockrider 6.3 frame, 125mm travel '06 Reba Teams 80-115mm with remote lockout Manitou Swinger X3 air shockBasic headset Rubber Queen 2.2s F+R SLX 11-34T 9spd cassette Superstar lock on grips Exotic flat Pedals Sram 9spd chain SLX 180mm brakes F+R XT rear mech XT front mech Deore shifters FSA CF post Selle seat Truvativ Stylo cranks with SLX 22/36T rings and bash Blackspire Stinger Ebay cheapy wireless computer Sunline V1 bars Sunline 60mm stem SLX 36ep rear hub with Shimano skewer and Rockrider rim Specialized Stout front hub with Superstar 9mm skewer and Rockrider rim
  21. Sharn, those bars would be great! Let me know when you are back! I'm 6ft2, not sure if that really counts as tall these days though? I will give some taller bars a shot and see how it feels for me, these ones certainly feel too low and I really like a high setup Took out a link of the chain tonight, it was a little bit too loose for my liking without a tensioner so I removed the spring from my tensioner and added a washer so that it would work as a fixed tensioner. I think it looks a ton neater now Hopefully I will have time to ride tomorrow and see how it feels, this week I have been ill/planning lessons and havent had a chance to even think about biking.
  22. Quite alot of chaps use laminate for flooring, usually quite cheap especially if end of line
  23. I have rear doors and passengers still struggle to get in...
  24. Yeah I'm really happy how it came out considering my budget! I think I will try some higher rise bars, i'm only running the FSAs as they were sitting about spare! I ran the same geo stem and bars on my GHZ and it felt absolutely spot on but I guess that was a longer frame No worries on the v pins Laurence, i'll bodge in some bits of spoke Carl, thats totally fine, entitled to an opinion It's a bit dull perhaps, but bright garish colours look far worse and I don't want something that stands out loads, especially living in Nottingham. Part choices are not ideal but that's because it's been built on a budget and some bits have been harvested off other bikes/kindly donated by folk on here. Straight forks look really odd on Pashleys, I feel the proper forks look just right and have the old skool appeal. Disc brakes aren't really necessary especially on a build like this, I have always liked V brakes and they save a little podge over discs! Cost has been just over £50, hence why the bike is not as beautifully specced as others on here. EDIT: Will bars like these Octane One Chemicals be any good?
