Web "standards" are largely bollocks so that's not really surprising. The big surprise is that TF manages to get out with only 9. there's no guarantee it's shafted based on a message like that (it's likely but not certain) check theres no loose cables etc (ie. wiggle everything that looks like it might plug into the disk) try the disk in a different laptop / USB caddy thing (preferable) - in case your disk controller is knackered.
