  1. It was way more than 3 separate clips. It must have taken an awful lot of effort Steve! My theory, Steve repeatedly did the gap and moved the camera round, say 20-30 degrees each time, keeping the same sort of radius from the gap. This means he stays the same size on film. It is then a case of finding the matching frames in each clip and taking a still, playing each for about 4 frames? Then continuing with the footage after the last clip? You should get the mars bar just for being cool.
  2. Reading has one of the best scenes in the South! There's a fair few locals who are pretty underground but are all rad. More prominent locals include Nick Goddard, Jack Meek and Tim Pratt. There's lots of places to ride. It's best in summer, riding half the day at the logs* and then riding down the hill, back past the uni, into town. Better to ride with a smaller local group rather than attending an organised trials-forum ride. Reading is also one of the best connected towns in the south. Can go to London, Southampton, Swindon, Bristol and Oxford all direct by train. * The logs. Situated about a 15 minute ride from the Uni, in Winnersh. Can go by train from Earley if you are feeling really lazy. I'm sure you can get detailed directions from one of the locals over MSN. But they are great to ride, it's the only natural around here. Woah, have you found the rocks at the uni?! They are also good to ride, head past the Plant Science building into the woods. They are around there somewhere about a 1 minute ride into the woods. There's a lot of good stuff on campus too. Happy hunting. I live about half an hour away in Windsor but ride Reading when the locals are out and about.
  3. Nick vs. Curb Nick vs. Curb 2 If anyone makes anything cooler that either of those I will be impressed.
  4. What A-levels are you doing? What grades do you hope to get? Seeing as you live in Dorset you will probably want to study somewhere in the south... I think I was in the same sort of boat as you. For my A-levels I was doing Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics. I had no idea what or where I wanted to study at this point in the lower sixth. I enjoyed maths and was naturally good at it, but I couldn't possibly condone studying just maths for 3/4 years straight. I've ended up studying Chemistry at Bristol, starting in October as I am currently on a gap year. I can't wait. These days, an awful lot rests on your AS-level results. Make sure you work hard, getting good grades is such a helping hand for university places. If it wasn't for AS-levels I don't think I would have even been interviewed at some of my Unis! Erm, yeah.
  5. I feel like such an American. We need one. Bowdown ROFL is just so cool.
  6. Cool. If the weather is good I fancy an afternoon sesh down in the town centre. Might get a few lines on film this time, there's some pretty big stuff to do. I'll probs turn up mid-afternoon if anyone wants to join me
  7. Wait for the bus at the station... They have taken bikes in the past, but if they feel like being arsey I guess they could make you ride. It's worse on the way there. About a 40 minute ride uphill with all your camping shit. The ride back to the station is a doddle though, you can just roll all the way back down and it takes nearer 20 mins. The event is piss-easy to find. Go out of the station and turn right. Then ride along that road until you see the event. It's a good idea to book your bikes on the train (shock horror!) as about 29 kids with BMXs try and get on the train when it stops at Reading. It's gonna be a complete b*****d getting from Leeds to Castle Cary by train... I'm imagine the fastest way is Leeds - King's Cross - Paddington (circle line takes bikes) - Castle Cary. You can save some money there by booking the train tickets a 2-3 weeks before the event. Travelling any time before half 9 on the circle line is carnage so avoid that if possible. Do it. NASS is awesome.
  8. Continuing from the 'Stamford Yesterday' topic... So, anyone up for a ride apart from Sam and myself? Wanna hit a few more spots nearer the town centre this time, it does look pretty cool. No fairground pikies to worry about either this time (Y)"
  9. Yes, I'll be up in the hood again next saturday and I'm well up for a ride. Thinking Peterborough or Stamford. Hopefully the weather will be good!
  10. The bike05 vid was 300mb. I think it was downloaded over 3000 times before being removed. 300 x 3000 = 900 Gb of bandwidth. (Assuming that is the way you work out bandwidth usage?) 15 Gb = £12 900 Gb = £720 That's on one video. I would hope Si isn't paying that much for his hosting.
  11. Observedtrials.net has a 'supporter' system going on, they pay an annual fee and get a few goodies. I have already contributed to trials-shack in the past, and donated to bikeguernsey.net back when that was running aswell. People on here are always after something for nothing. Fiver for 6 months... Not much is it? Seeing how nearly all of the world's trials vids seem to be on trials-shack nowadays. How many users will there be do you think?
  12. A host of names have been confirmed for the GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL. Confirmed acts are: PYRAMID STAGE White Stripes Coldplay Kylie The Killers New Order Doves Elvis Costello Brian Wilson Van Morrison The Zutons The Coral Ash Kaiser Chiefs Goldie Lookin' Chain Jools Holland The Thrills John Butler Trio The Undertones The Subways Taj Mahal Hayseed Dixies Garbage OTHER STAGE Razorlight Kasabian Ian Brown Fatboy Slim Royksopp Bloc Party Interpol Rufus Wainwright The Bravery The Futureheads Echo And The Bunnymen Athlete The Dears The Cooper Temple Clause Hot Hot Heat Soulwax Cake Thirteen Senses Brendon Benson Martha Wainwright Tom Vek Black Bud Dead 60's KT Tunstall Modey Lemon Engineers JOHN PEEL STAGE The Tears The Go! Team Bright Eyes The Earlies Willy Mason MIA Secret Machines M83 Yourcodenameis:milo Maximo Park Nine Black Alps Jem James Blunt Dresden Dolls The Subways Be Your Own Pet Rilo Kiley The Rakes Art Brut Hard Fi The Longcut Morning Runner Infadels Outset El President Not bad, not bad at all. It sickens me that the White Stripes are headlining ahead of Coldplay, saw them at Reading last year and they were gash. I swear the woman can't actually play the drums. Oh well. Over and out.
  13. Good to see someone mentioned this! I just watched it earlier, the best film I have seen in years... I had never even heard of it myself, only rented it because the guy in the video shop was singing its' praises. Go watch it >_< You won't be disappointed.
  14. It was taken when MBUK did the Bristol nightride with Chris Smith, Matt and Rowan. Would Matt be caught dead running red Michelin Hot S tyres " The rider is Rowan.
  15. That was awesome. I didn't find it too repetitive, and even though I did see most of the moves for real, it was great seeing them again from a different angle. Good editing too - the sound issue isn't really a cause for complaint either. I'm surprised you didn't include any of Jack Meek showing everyone that he has no self respect! Interrupting an Ot Pi demo, jumping the barrier, claiming he can do the move that Ot is backing away from. Of course, the brakes are around the other way on Ot's bike. Funny stuff. Jack afterwards "I've always wanted to meet Ot Pi, and now I have. Legend" Did anyone else find the fat commentator really f**king annoying? Who was he?! Anyways, top stuff. Tim and I were trying to work out who you were, flashing your 3-chip camera about.
  16. ...taken from www.readingfestival.com Anyone going to Glastonbury?
  17. I want to be happy. On a side note, some of your aspirations... (Y) I know you're only young but I promise you, there's more to life than bicycles. This thread has a positive vibe :) Go for it! I'm doing an MSci chemistry degree. I don't want to be a scientist. Last year 43% of chemistry graduates went on to work for financial companies. My options are open. I want to get a first or a 2.1 from Bristol University. That will do nicely.
  18. I kinda agree with you there, only going to V because the gf loves all those indie-pop-rock acts. It'll earn me some brownie points  The concrete jungle stage is always awesome... though the only band I've heard rumour of so far is Bad Religion. Last year, I went to Reading only wanting to see 3 bands. I had such an awesome time. The campsite antics are almost worth the ticket price alone. Music-wise, the bands I REALLY wanted to see before the festival were a bit of a let down. The bands I enjoyed the most were Lostprophets, The Rasmus, The Streets and Funeral for a Friend. Who'd have thought? I also went to see Roots Manuva and Rahzel which was super-cool. I saw SO many good bands that I didn't even plan to see, that's what a festival is about - not reluctantly waiting about for your favourite bands to come on.
  19. Reading V Festival What do you lot think? Got tickets to both, should be fun. Both events sold out in less than 2 days. Glastonbury tickets go on sale on April 4 for those of you who are extra-cool. Anyone going to any festivals this summer? NASS is awesome too, the music will be in a circus tent this year  Interested to hear the line-up for this year. I should have actually gone to see some bands last year, though Tim Stedman and Danny Smith did provide some comical drunken entertainment...
  20. Get SW trains into London Waterloo, get off at Vauxhaul, get on the Victoria Line (light blue) and head south for Brixtaaaan. It is at the end of the line so you won't miss it :- Oh, and I'm standing - of course.
  21. I don't know Stamford apart from the town centre... but thanks for letting me park outside your house. I'll be coming in from the A1 (past the George and over the bridge, then past Quayholes), any directions, or your postcode, would be sweet. My mobile is 07849 933373. See you on Sat between 12 and 1!
  22. That frame looks strangely familiar... Nice to see it's still in use, after Matt got rid of it. Echo ES4R sweetness... 3.3 lbs "
  23. I'm coming all on my own  I should be there before 1 o'clock, I wanna ride til about 6ish if that's good with you guys? That is if it is nice weather next Sat! Where is good to park? Bear in mind I'm a stig and don't fancy paying town centre prices...
