  1. Personally I'm not really keen on the feel of the Tech 3 levers. They seem to pull back in a weird arc and never end up giving solid lever feedback. The point at which the pads hit the rotor always seems a bit 'woolly'. Lots of adjustment though... MT7s lever feel seems a bit squidgy to me as well, and they generally seem a bit flimsy. The calipers do set up easily though and the brakes have good power, even with standard pads / rotors. I'm still on Trial Zones with Race levers,Trialtech pads and Mono Trial rotors - never have to mess with them, good feel, good power, no pad click, and I know I can always get spares if needed.
  2. One of these... One of these And some other little bits.
  3. You'll have to wait until he can get to Tesco.
  4. It's pretty grippy in the dry, but fairly abrasive. I think the tarmac is a funny type that polishes up a lot more than normal, hence the lack of wet grip. Haha, yeah, there were a few times we went past people on opposite lock, but all the videos from the morning (which were mostly the best ones) didn't have any sound
  5. Certainly was! None at all really, track wasn't dry at any point, winneerrrr. Yeah, only has about 85bhp at the rear wheels, but with the open diff it was spinning all the way through 3rd if you kept your foot in, haha. Need to get an LSD sorted for more drifting action...
  6. Probably the most fun track day I've ever done: How do you get this shit to embed? grrr!
  7. Epic day sliding around Rockingham with Bessell, followed by a 10 hour sleep, winnneerrrr.
  8. Don't worry if it makes no sense first time... So many new terms for me, so only started to sink in second time round, then (mostly) understood 3rd time. Seems to be one of the last books before aero started getting big, so it's almost perfect for the sorts of cars we might play with.
  9. Surname Binns, sells tyres :p
  10. Good stuff, from Dave? Sorry I've not had chance to get wheel photos yet... JD, try Tune to Win by Carroll Smith. I hadn't read a book for years until I read that 3 times on the trot a few xmases ago.
  11. Ah well, single wire = 5 minute job (Y)
  12. Np. http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/oxygen-sensor-aftermarket-four-wire-with-plug-mk1-p-2045.html - maybe?
  13. Yup, Hope adaptor F Groove rotor looks interesting... should work well I think.
  14. It's the oxygen sensor... The MX-5 runs closed loop under 4.5k rpm and less than full throttle, so it takes a reading from the lambda sensor to manage the air fuel ratio. For all 'normal' driving it will be running rich as hell without the lambda sensor connected / working. That will possibly be linked to your oil consumption too. Too much fuel washes the oil off the cylinder walls, which can lead to knackered piston rings and scoring the bore of the block, and therefore they don't seal properly.
  15. I was due to do some instruction for someone on that Bedford date, but he wrote the car off a few weeks ago... Just gave him a shout but sadly he cancelled the booking - I was hoping he still had it and would sell, sorry!
  16. I might have a way round that... Leave it with me. Alternatively, I'll be at Rockingham the same day, welcome to come along!
  17. Haha. 50mph winds + the sea right next to the track = salty spray all over the track and lens. You'd start with a clean lens and 2 laps later it was potato-clear. Rubbish!
  18. Agreed! Can't believe how OTT they are going, but it's fun to watch Videos from Anglesey last weekend with @Mark W...
  19. I don't think this is coming out now...
  20. How about with a new chain though? I don't think Inspired can sell a bike that doesn't work, unfortunately...
  21. Jonny Jones is a good man to speak to - sales@ubersticky.co.uk or https://www.facebook.com/UBERSticky/?fref=ts (Y)
  22. Yeah, agreed about the battery - if you have a multimeter and someone to help, get them to check the voltage as you are trying to start the car. It should read at least 9.5V, under that is nearly dead, under 9 is definitely toast.
