  1. Get it out already, Steve! Joel, he was running a rear brake only in Bristol a week or so ago
  2. It's no fun if the other person's a pushover (well, it is, but not for long). People like a bit of unpredictability, a little bit of fun along the way. That much is obvious.
  3. They look good, though I've never really looked into straight pull wheelbuilds so know nothing. Strength? I'd imagine straight pull spokes are a little harder to get hold of. Hub only would be the one to go for - I can't see trials riders really being interested enough in a complete wheel. This is probably better to focus on first...
  4. Lots of frames come in a "short" and "long" option, which frame in particular are you thinking of? A 90mm stem with that steep an angle will probably be a tad short on a stock bike - whilst you'll gain the extra height you require you may find that you don't have enough forward reach on the stem
  5. They were £70 arms/levers, though they appear to have gone up to £80+. Like I said though, I paid less than £50 for a pair of them second hand in new condition so look around. Had to replace the bearings in one arm after the previous owner mashed them - cost £4 for twice as many bearings as were needed and was an easy 10 minute job (though I know Ali C had issues before, so might be worth looking into why for a bit more detail)
  6. Technically you're not travelling 32 or whatever inches per revolution, you'd need to multiply by the wheel circumference for that, but you're only a factor of Pi out which'll be the same for each wheelsize
  7. Disclaimer: Luke Rainbird does not condone cheating. Ignorance FTW
  8. You might want to rethink which way round that ratio is before calling him someone out on it though Wheel diameters affect the required ratio, crank length is purely a question of leverage.
  9. Cool stuff - indoor parks are a godsend through the crap weather/if you live in Scotland Well, that and the fact they're so much fun!
  10. That's because you took ages doing it >1 hour start to finish = slacking
  11. I don't think I'd run anything other than a good vee now. My Ultimates are incredible, so easy to setup and perform really, really well with sweet FA in the way of maintenance. Bit pricey, but I picked up the pair for less than £50 so that's not really an issue... There are some great vees out there, priced for a range of different budgets.
  12. You should always throw a couple of layers of laquer on for a decent spray job* *key words: should, decent
  13. If you're looking to spend so much to get a decent machine, it'll be worth learning to do it anyway - It's really not that hard and when you come to upgrade in the future you'll be able to switch stuff over easily enough. Plus you get a totally custom bit of kit that way
  14. Really tidy stuff man, sweet edit and riding all round
  15. I assumed he meant the genital-saving saddle...
  16. Thinking done, now get out and ride it
  17. If nobody puts out a decent vee frame/fork anytime soon I may have to...

  19. dx32 or onza ronnie, hold grinds well, strong too wide enough but not too wide for vee's
