  1. I had an iPhone 4s before I left and to be honest I'm not too bothered if I never have an iPhone again. What are peoples views on blackberry's? I've never owned one but I like the idea of having one, a physical qwerty would be ok and they're quite cheap on the used market.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah I'm not big on Facebook but emails and checking movie times whilst on the go are pretty useful. I did say only 2 months but then again it may have to last longer as I'll be looking to buy a house and the missus is broody as hell.
  3. As much as I'd like any old Nokia, I can not text using actual buttons anymore!
  4. Yeah after pay n go. When I start my job again I'll probs go nexus 5, just need something until then.
  5. I need a phone for when I return to UK in 2 weeks. I will be unemployed for a month, which means no pay for 2 months. Phone will need to be <£100. I don't mind going second hand/eBay to get more for my money. Any suggestions as I'm out of the budget smartphone loop.
  6. So turns out the master cylinder was being a PITA and wouldn't bleed, mechanic stuck a compressed air gin in the reservoir and gave it a little blip which solved the problem. Turns out I was bleeding it properly it just wasn't playing ball.
  7. Yeah pretty sure its the same reservoir. Well I think it is anyway as the reservoir I topped up was pretty low after the clutch line popped.
  8. Bleeding a clutch on a hiace van, not fun! I've bled it as per the instructions, no more air coming out, just fluid but still no pedal response, and now the brake pedals gone all weird. Looks like a clutch less drive to the mechanic.
  9. We've been out here almost 12 months now. I couldn't say about mechanic work but you can just do crappy work for money. Our visas were easy to get! Fill in the form, pay the £200 or whatever it was and get a visa. They have as list of requirements on the website and so long as you satisfy those your good. I should also mention we spent £5000 on a camper.
  10. I'm in Aus right now! It is expensive here but if you work wages are good, we found work for a holiday park (free accommodation yo!) And got $25ph and time+half on weekends. We bought a camper and just on fuel and food we are spending $2000 per month, lots of driving involved if you want to see the whole country. People are very friendly though and we've managed to make friends with a few people who have put us up for a week here and as week there which is great. We met a German couple who's van broke down outside a ladies house so she invited them in and they ended up looking after her house for 2 weeks whilst she went on holiday, so very friendly and trusting people! Oh, and living 'relatively care free' doesn't work too good. Me and the missus left home with near £20,000 in the bank and that was gone in 6 months, and I mean we got down to our last £50 before we got some work. Supermarket food is expensive as hell and beer is astronomical, if you really need to get drunk a $10 box of cheap ass wine is the way to go. But do it though, best fun ever and work is easy to find, so long as you get a working visa. Edit: just realised you're only going for 2 months! I'd say £5000 would be more realistic if you didn't want to worry about money, definitely possible with £4k a pieced though, so long as you get your return flight first. Our return flights were about £600 each.
  11. I have. I just bought a home made kit off eBay which had all the elbows/pipes needed, then found a guide to do the job. It all goes straight forward and you can see what to do as you go. The only issue I had was re-seating the injectors on the fuel rail. You won't get any mega power gains on the m52 without spending big bucks. Honestly it would be cheaper to get an m3 3.0 engine in there. Or a 3.2 evo engine but they cost a little more and use some different parts. (Yes I'm thinking of going m3 evo in my 328 touring)
  12. I prefer to drive economically, not to save money but to save me having to go to the petrol station every other day. Those places suck balls!
  13. Hi photo guys, the missus is looking to get into photography so I thought I'd get her a camera to start her off. I'm happy to buy used and would like it to come with a couple of lenses. Don't really want to spend more than £200 at the minute as she'll probably loose interest once I buy it, haha. What are my options/your recommendations? Edit: found this locally. A good start or over priced? http://www.wightbay.com/cameras-tv-dvd-electricals/canon-300d-slr-camera-and/4753934
  14. Hi guys, I need to know what the port circled in yellow on this gearbox is for. Its too cold out to go following the line, but it has a small leak so I need to know if it'll be gearbox oil that'll need topping up or not? Thanks tf. http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v2/436661724/7C3W_Gearbox_for_Toyota_Hiace.jpg
  15. Don't plan too much, plans will soon change!
  16. I am currently 6 months into my 12 month work visa in Australia. Before we arrived here we spent just 6 weeks in New Zealand and 3 weeks in travelling around California. When we leave here we'll be looking to spend a month somewhere else before returning home for xmas. I would definitely reccommend Aus, it's not as exciting as backpacking through Asia (Thailand is supposed to be great) but the people are nice and if you buy a van and just work/drive around you'll have some good times/make some good friends. You will find the majority of backpackers over here are German for some reason. Finding work in Aus is pretty easy, especially if you are english, at the moment I'm a grounds keeper at a holiday park which is paying fairly well and free accommodation. It took me 2 days and a telephone interview to get the job so not difficult. To sum up if travelling is something you want to do then definitely do it now while you are still young and don't have the commitments.
  17. Seriously, a max of 4 decent sized monitors will do for pretty much everything. You do know you don't need to run every window at full screen? Also how can you watch a movie and concentrate on 7 other monitors/the work you are doing?
  18. So Lou was getting the new car to save money. Now you're getting the new car and keeping the old one too? That must have some impact on the 'saving money' side of things.
  19. Just gave my car it's first wash this year I think, and it's last for at least 18 months as I'm off backpacking in September. Things to note: 1 - The front grill decided to fall off (retaining clips were OLD) so is in the boot. 2 - I am awarer of how high the front end looks, exaggerated by the silly low profile tires.
  20. No, but I'm sure I could 'aquire' a movie and test it out later.....
  21. 720p movies ran fine. Haven't tried 1080p. It does go quite sketchy if you try and access the menu or do anything when it's playing a video and the fast forward is a bit jumpy too. Absolutely no problem in just sticking a film on and letting it run.
  22. My Pi turned up today (bought on ebay for £40 with all leads as I didn't want to wait 16weeks). Got it running Raspbmc, mounted on the back of my monitor accessing media from my external HDD. using my iphone as a remote, so far it's a little clunky around the menus but once its streaming it's faultless. Great little silent media streamer!
  23. Since there are many E36 enthusiasts around these parts nowadays. If anybody comes across a dirt cheap E36 M3 wheel, the wider 8.5j one for the rear, let me know. I have managed to get a hold of one for free so just need another to complete the set.
  24. No, centres were a little pitted from the sand blasting. Couldn't notice it really, I didn't even notice the finish until looking at the photograph., the metallic paint masked it quite well. I miss them now I've seen the pictures again.
  25. Some pics of my whells to inspire you.... Also you would have found it a LOT easier to do a proper sand and polish without the tyres on. Also do not shot blast the centre cap surrounds, they are flimsy and will warp a bit.
