  1. I must have listened to this over a hundred times since it was released in March. Visually pleasing and his voice is great.
  2. I'm a member of the new build hate brigade, but only because of my past exposure to what are probably the cheap and nasty ones. The one we saw yesterday went a long way to converting me as it certainly wasn't the cardboard box type I've been in before. I basically want a bit of character, a decent amount of space and I'd rather not hear my neighbours from two doors away having sex (Detached ideally, as my out of office activities aren't too quiet - well, they have been for about 10 years, but I'd like to change that once I own a place!). I'm fairly open now, compared to a few weeks ago. Today I found a "3" bedroom cottage in the middle of nowhere that I quite like - I say "3", because to get a third bedroom you'd lose the dining room... But I think because of that I can probably low ball them on offer. It would need a fair bit of work outside, but I'm happy to crack on with that. Inside seems pretty sorted, definitely worth a view anyway. The hunt continues
  3. Yeah that's on our list of requirements - quite high up the list. Definitely needs a garage for my next project. I've spent a lot of today looking on Rightmove and there's really not much in our price range, the ones we looked at a few weeks ago have gone already, so stuff isn't hanging around at the moment! The lack of details on some of the listings is frustrating too, a 3D render of a totally different property and no decent description - just a link to register interest... Interest in what? To be honest I thought this part of the process would be easier, I thought the tricky bit was when you start dealing with surveyors and lenders.
  4. There's no "mildly disappointed thread" so this will do We went to view a new build today, which was not on the site we'd be buying from, but was the same flat-pack style house so effectively the same thing... We liked it and it would have been a good match for us. Rang the sales team when we got home and asked for the estimated completion of the site we were looking at and they said building is due to commence in February 2022 Plenty more to look at, but this one would have been good - seems bigger than most 3 bedroom new builds. I'm usually pretty against new builds due to lack of character / being crammed in / cardboard walls, but this one was good in all those areas.
  5. I haven't used heating in over 7 years here, I don't know if insulation is just incredible or the people below us are cultivating some of Jamaica's finest, but most evenings it's 25 degrees in here. We're buying a house early next year, so it'll be quite a shock going back to cold houses and heating bills
  6. Damn, that's a bargain! I've been a member of a few MR2 groups since August and it looks like I'll be spending around £2.5k for an FL, ideally a Red Edition because that colour scheme is awesome. I've been given permission by the boss to get one once we have a house Most likely stick a 2ZZ in as well, a little further down the road.
  7. Depends what kinda racing you want to do though, to enter a specific series yes, but for a regular track car you wouldn't have to do a lot of that. Any proper racing is £££££ though, yeah.
  8. I've never wanted a C1, until I started watching this series
  9. Nice one, amigo! Isabella Amelia, you are indeed the guy.
  10. I'm sticking with my initial reply - if your area has no opportunities, move to the nearest big city that does. You don't even have to live in the city, just near enough to work there.
  11. If Barrow doesn't offer opportunities, move further afield? Hastings didn't have much for me, aside from friends and family, I moved to Bristol 7 years ago and everything is better now - I have a proper career and there's tons of opportunities here. A lot of my friends have visited and said they're jealous or I'm lucky, but really it's not that difficult to move somewhere new. A fair bit of the career side was lucky, but the life I'm living now is just hard work and making the decision to change location. Either way, hopefully you get sorted soon dude.
  12. Agreed - Miele Complete C3 here, great piece of kit What has my life become, discussing vacuum cleaners on the internet
  13. Can't see attachments unless you sign up on there - as I'm 99.97% sure I'll be getting one, I'll have a look at joining later
  14. Red has left the building. (Driveway / parking space) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dVZmUgP5Ik
  15. I'm planning on getting as late a model as I can, at least 04 FL. And I realise I've been unlucky with mine, but my Eunos had 3 oil burning 1.6's, I'm familiar with engine swapping now
  16. Pretty top notch roof repair going on there, such pro I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get one of these once we have a house, they look like fun and the usual problems they have seem less life threatening than the MX-5's love of rust. Pre-cats seem to be the deadliest issue.
  17. Skoda Octavia / VW Passat estate? The 2005-ish ones would fit the budget and they're pretty bombproof...
  18. I'm playing a Twitch event today for charity. My set is at 6pm, until then we have 44bdk spinning breaks: https://www.twitch.tv/44bdk
  19. Started off nice, then when he started riding I felt sea sick, why have they edited it like that? It could have been nice and flowy, but instead they decided to make it look like someone had zoomed in and dropped the camera a few times.
  20. Nice one dude! Yeah I can view it, all 9000 pages I'll have a read through tonight in more detail, but I noticed a guy say he was 6ft and struggles to fit... I'm 6ft 2, so that could be interesting.
  21. @dann2707 on your MR2, how difficult is it to see the condition of the rear subframe? I'm potentially viewing them soon and I understand that's an area prone to rust, so I want to make sure I give it a proper look over.
  22. I don't mind doing engine swaps 'n' stuff, but I'd like something that doesn't rot away to nothing, basically. If I got one I'd probably go with car engine, purely because I'm guessing it's cheaper. Unfortunately a bodge job on welding in the past caused the demise of mine, it looked shiny on the outside but the inside was almost non-existent... Great for weight saving, not so good for structural rigidity. I'll probably pick up something for £800-1000 just to blast around in for a bit, then get a more serious car in a year once we're settled in.
  23. It's one of the requirements, yeah - 3 bed, garage and garden. And yeah, once we have it, I plan to get something that needs storing in a garage. I really like the 7 actually, it's tempting! What would a half decent one set me back? Other cars on the list are S2000 and Boxster, but I'm open to other non-roofed options.
  24. It's not worth it. It's done 265k, it would be the 4th engine if I swapped it again and the cost to sort the rust is literally thousands... You can get a pretty clean one for £2k, so there's just no point, other than attachment. I'm buying a house in the next few months, so it would be silly to spend loads on this or a new one. I'll probably just get another one for around a grand just to play with - maybe an MR2 for a change of scenery.
