  1. Someone has moved all our posts around! I'm so angry.
  2. Oh and what are you doing that sucks up that much RAM? 16gb is fine for me at the moment, but I did debate going to 32.
  3. That looks awesome, bet it cost a fortune to build to that spec when it was new! Older kit seems to be fetching good money still, my 980 went for £170 in the end. I've listed my Gigabyte mobo with i5 3570k and 16gb Ballistix RAM on eBay for £75 starting bid - got a few watchers already. Also sold my older 650w Modular Corsair PSU for £50. I reckon you'd get decent money for that build.
  4. Jesus, that's gotta be quite high up on the list of things housebuyers don't expect! I think it's unlikely with our place, as it's in a small village rather than Bristol, but anything is possible.
  5. To be honest, it's money well spent - moving is a massive pain in the arse, the people you pay know how to do it properly and they're insured if anything gets broken... Once you factor in all the stress, cost of van hire etc I think it's worth spending the extra.
  6. You're like us though, the best possible situation - so glad I'm not selling at the same time, it makes a painful process a total clusterf**k
  7. Hold off on the congrats for now mate, we haven't completed yet - we're still making good progress though, solicitor sent through tons of stuff today regarding land, boiler, electric, fixtures and fittings etc... Couple of small discrepancies, but nothing that would be a show stopper... Our mortgage will be with Barclays, as they're the only lender that would do 10% deposit whilst furloughed. 10% was already limited choices, but with furlough as well it came down to just Barclays. We're fixed for 2 years at 3.7% I think it is. Everything is moving quickly on ours, so I really hope we can be done by 31/3 and save that extra cash! That house you've looked at is nice - is it a 3 bed? Really nice for a first house by the looks of it. People keep saying our place is amazing for a first time buyer, but I explain I'm almost 37 and missed the boat on getting a crappy 2 bed flat in my 20's
  8. Oh really? I've never done that comparison, always just assumed the 10** series was much better. The jump from my old kit to new is astounding though, it runs everything on ultra - at least everything I play, anyway. My 980 is up to £104 now, one day to go... Hopefully this time the buyer actually buys it
  9. For supply & demand reasons, no, it didn't happen. So many people now are just buying whatever they can get hold of, which is why the 1080 is still going for big money. Even my 980 is bidding up well and it's relatively ancient!
  10. Very similar to what I just built; 5600X, 3060Ti on an MSI B550 Tomahawk with 16gb HyperX Fury 3600 RAM. Also upgraded my PSU to a decent Seasonic Gold 650w as my old one was getting on a bit. Re-used my case and drives though. Definitely upgrade the cooler if you get a 5600X, the stock one is awful - I went with a cheap Hyper H412R and my temps dropped by 20c under load. With the stock cooler it was pumping out so much hot air, my room went up by 6c in 20 minutes
  11. The price of cards is insane at the moment. My old 980 I picked up for £100 two years ago, it's bidding at that already on eBay... It went for £200 last week but the winner made up an excuse and backed out. 23 bids last time. I was hoping it would get near £100, not double! Still, certainly not complaining - the 3060Ti cost £369 so if I can cover more than half of that with my old one it's all good
  12. Shit isn't it! I had the same issue with 3060Ti graphics cards, I was on all the alert Discord servers and suchlike... as soon as they dropped you had literally 10 seconds to load the page and grab one. I failed so many times over a few weeks, finally got one a couple of weeks ago. People on those Discord servers boasting that they'd had 20 and sold them on at £150 more than retail price (Usually met with a fair bit of abuse from those still trying to buy one to actually use).
  13. Mine is fixed for two years at 3.7%
  14. Same here, £1200-ish and about 23 years lol
  15. Those are some epic trees in the garden! Good luck dude, hope all goes well. I've finished all the paperwork tonight, booked the surveyor too... We've reached the 'sit back and wait' phase, which I'm sure will be super frustrating. This is becoming mortgage-forum.co.uk
  16. Nope, stockists would usually just sell them off cheap to clear the stock and buy in the new stuff. You might find one somewhere, but if there's none showing on stock online, there's a chance they've all been sold off. Which DMR frame were you looking at?
  17. Mortgage approved already, we only sent it off yesterday! (Well, mortgage advisor did). If things go this quickly across the board, maybe we can hit the 31/3 deadline!
  18. We're still very early on in the process and it's already stressful haha - it'll be worth it in the end though, I really can't wait. I've been caged in a 2 bed top floor flat for a year whilst working from home and it's not done wonders for the mental state... Three bed house with a decent garden is the dream. Well, you know, the realistic dream
  19. Hoping, yes, but realistically it's not gonna happen - the seller of the house our sellers are moving to don't have anywhere yet. Apparently the searches are taking 8-9 weeks too, so even without that chain it would be a very tight squeeze. We're moving to Wales, so we have to pay land tax (Welsh equivalent of stamp duty), but it doubles after 31st March... It'll cost us an extra £2500 basically, which we've factored in already, so if it happens before 31/3 it's a nice bonus Everything is going smoothly so far, just gotta wait 4 or 5 days for the mortgage decision then we can tell solicitors and surveyors to go full steam ahead.
  20. Cheers! Yeah I can't wait - the place we're buying is freshly kitted out, so not much to do in the short term Just ploughing through all the emails and phone calls now, just started really and it's already a crazy amount of things done!
  21. The question is, which variant will you catch?
  22. Just put an offer in on a house - I really hope we get it!
  23. Interesting, back when I used to ride trials we always called them "bump ups" - logical, even if not the correct name
