  2. Now my hopes have bedded in i absolutely love them oooooodles of power, love the feel. Definitely wouldn't want anything else on a mod.

    Bonz 2011 Range

    These were my thoughts exactly.
  6. I snapped my 4 bolt Rockmans in about 6-7 weeks and Urbans cracked on both mounts in less time. My friends Rockman forks snapped in about 5 months, so not great either way. Not heard any issues about Koxx forks and steel steerers are a little more confidence inspiring, maybe they're changing the forks design and hence no restocking date for the existing model?
  7. Ever ridden in the Quantocks? I've had clean hope qr's seize and disc brake pads last a 20 mile ride in the wet. The dirt is very very harsh on bits. The Joplin/gravity dropper posts are known to seize , but the reviews of the RS post seem positive in this aspect and with less wobble in the saddle comparatively too; and with the quality/reliability of the forks they're producing at the moment I have faith that they will be well sealed and up to the job.
  8. The joys of previously working for your LBS and having the mechanic as a mate and your next door neigbour..... access to expensive tools!
  9. Doing all the bits myself I find half the fun of owning bikes. Only thing I haven't played around with is servicing a rear shock...
  10. Monsterous stuff! What was the song, sounded like Perfect Circle?
  11. I imagine the Trialtech packaging and the quick links are different (the Trialtech has the better one.)
  12. Done alright there new stem and decent seat and you're sorted.
  13. Mate you're a hero would be awesome.

    Get2

Got mine today watched already and was bloody impressed! Be a nice pre outing drinking sesh vid to watch tonight
  15. It's been a while mate, but nice to see you've still got it. See you tonight
  16. Oooooooooooooooh really? How much do you want for it matey? Need to get a matching silver lever blade too. I know its gay
  17. This may be true, but even so it wouldn't explain why I could see the calliper flexing Got the new pads through today, set it all up nice and tidy after I'd faced the mounts and it seems a lot more solid, less lever travel. Just need to see what it's like when it beds in. New pads were honking once wet no chance they are contaminated as everything was thoroughly cleaned before the pads were installed.
  18. It was cheap and I was bored of my stock so I thought I'd give it a go, seems all right at the moment..... if I can get the brakes working sweet! Full Try-all build, changed the pedals as I prefer the feel of them. Seems all good so far
  19. These ones? cost approx £6.30 for 2 washers, enough for one brake. Tarty echo ones as linked, cost £6.50 posted for enough for 2 brakes?! 20p cheaper but you get half as much...... seems like a false economy to me.
  20. Cost effective doesn't mean cheap! It could be still high in cost, it's just the most cost effective method available. Even if it is forged and then CNC finished, the high cost would still be incurred, Dies would need to be made (not cheap) and then still CNC machined after (not cheap). CNC machining itself can be an efficient way of producing things, it will never be as cheap as producing things from a straight tube or as Mark was pointing out with the drop outs, from smaller CNC parts. CNC machining is expensive if doing small batch runs, there's high material wastage, high operating costs from the machinery itself, to setting it up and paying someone to operate it for the long periods of time it would take to produce some of the components Koxx manufacturers. High volume simple CNC parts are cheap, Low volume, batch production, intricate CNC parts are not. I don't understand why someone can't grasp why Koxx frames are expensive! They're designed and produced in for the high end of the competition market, from the best materials available, to an incredibly high standard and are very well designed. The detail they include, quality of production, production methods and materials used coupled with the very low volumes produced for a small portion of a very small market mean they have to carry a high price tag to make them a viable profitable product.
  21. Well I've given everything a damn good clean, lubed the pistons with dot and re-bled everything and it feels OK. New pads are coming as the fronts were contaminated. Rotors have been thoroughly cleaned. So we'll see how they fair. A full overhaul replacing all the seals was my next port of call if it didn't work. Cheers guys.
