  1. I work for the MOD, just finished a post working in Laser safety, before that i was working at RAF Brize Norton working with the RAF Boeing C17's and in September i start working for the In Service Submarines team and HMNB Devonport looking after the nuclear subs that come in. It's pretty cool, get to see some cool stuff and also some pretty bad stuff.
  2. It's not a Trance, it' s a Giant Yukon FX2. Same colours as a Trance model from that year, but lower spec and deosn't have the Maestro linkage.
  3. Dont worry Matt he'll no doubt go through all three plus the Ozonys he's also considering within the next 6 months.
  4. Motor bike trials on a mountain bike, pretty much what it is. Most people understand it and appreciate it too.
  5. I vote Rich Pearson (mod) to go on a cull, need to remove some of the weak links as natural selection is just too slow.
  6. More bikes in the car means more bikes that will come at you whilst going round corners......
  7. So what hope brake have you taken a file to and massacred? I think it was Plazmatic or might have been Monty that made a disc brake pad out of a different material. Just can't see this working, surely the material will either shred up or melt when you drag it.
  8. If you're talking about putting magura disc pads in a hope disc brake, or vice versa then you only needed to look at a picture of the the two pads and compare. For some reason i also imagined you trying to cram a magura HS33 pad in a disc brake calliper, if this is what you were talking about please seek professional help.
  9. Weren't they made by Grimeca, i remeber them having out a 4pot brake that looked prety much the same
  10. Hug. Leave the troubled girl alone, if she wants to talk to you sensibly as a friend then fair enough, but guilt tripping you and having (non)family members threatening you isn't worth the hassle. This girl you like, likes you but its hung up on a another guy? Make yourself more awesome than him; which come on you are. But don't make it too easy for her, if you're too available then she won't want it.
  11. Joe and Andrei are running them at the mo, having ridden Joe's 20" on Dartmoor, albeit in the dry, it was super grippy. Can imagine it would be an awesome street as well as dry natty front tyre.
  12. Why?! Personally don't think it "looks" any weaker of flexier than a lot of frames out at the moment. Until someone gets on it and rides it as its intended then we won't know what it's like, general sweeping statements about how it looks are a bit daft.
  13. Cheers Dave, couldn't find that on the UCI site this morning
  14. Thats awesome same theres no UCI live updates.
  15. Apparently my 26" bike was utterly disgusted at the thought of my abandoning it for 10 days to ride a smaller bike with a seat and so decided to jettison me chin first onto a rather large rock. 7 stitches and a concussion later the 26" bike and the rock won the battle. Roll on next weekend!
  16. Woah there Danny, of course you can!
  17. That frame is stunning, lots of neat details and a clean tidy look to it I can imagine it's rather expensive mind! Take it back £399 is pretty reasonable for a frame that looks like its had a fair bit of thought and attention to detail put into it.
  18. The frame itself didnt as it was the old style wth the big CNC booster, and i don't think it was the adpators themselves, but more the fact the brake is mounted on a post extended away from the frame. The brake posts aren't exactly substantial and the flex seemed to come from these, with the booster mounted on top as it should be it removed all the flex in the brake.
  19. I didnt use a booster for about a month when i was using it on my control, but i found the flex too much. I was using a booster before and afte that on the stock and have always used a booster on the 24".

    New Hs33 Brake

so if you don't like the lever blade then you're stuck with it?
  21. Sorry that made me giggle. Wouldn't use oil in bearings as it'll dissapear pretty fast. Some nice lithium grease as has been mentioned is ideal and will last longer .
  22. I found that any avid lever was the way forward, SD7 if you will use the speed dial adjustment. I use Avid Altimate arms, which are amazing but as Matt has said, any avid arms are very good as are the set -ups i've used with new Shimano Deore arms. A Linear slic cable is a must. As Matt has said a booster makes a massive difference to the hold of the brake, i found the actual vee brake post mounts flexed slightly without one, i use a Salsa carbon booster which has been excellent.
  23. Well it's still alive and not cracked, Joe is most definitely loving it.
  24. Well the pads wont affect how you brakes clamp up, so it must have been how you've put everything back together afterwards, you say you have the black washers in place and the bolts aren't bottoming out. Can you get a picture up of everything?
