  1. Very good point indeed about the confusion ect. I also don't expect her to have the same feelings i do, which is why i want to talk to her, to find out where i stand. but i think your right, i should leave it a little while. I agree, not a lot probably happened, thats not nessesarily why i was anoyed. I thnk it was just jealousy, which i dont usually get. also, as far as im aware, they also only met that evening, or if they have met before its only been briefly. Again, apreciated, bute i refer back to i belive they are not good freinds. After talking to a couple of others, i am pretty sure it is an insucure rebound reaction, as she was dumped and it was a shock to her. So as much as i hate it, i think i will need to keep waiting. Any views on talking my feelings through with stevie? (the sister i live with?)
  2. Right, here we go; Moved into uni, obviously made friends with people in my halls. Of these is a girl called Stevie, shes great, get on with her really well and we have a laugh- were good friends. Stevie has a sister, Kaleigh, also at our uni, in the year above (which is actually my age- retaking 1st year at diff uni). I really like Kaleigh. She seems to have everything I like in a girl, looks wise, and personality. I haven’t had a chance to really get to know her, but so far I like her, but I don’t know how she feels about me, if at all- Im a generally nice guy and good at making friends with girls, which can lead to problems trying to take it further than that, they all just think I’m there sweet friend. Anyway, I had put most of these thought to the back of my mind till last week as Kaleigh had a bf, but with the break up the feelings came back. I don’t want to just jump in there 1) I want to give her time and space, 2) I don’t want to look desperate 3) I don’t want some dodgy rebound relationship. However, me Stevie and K went out to the cinema with some of Stevies friends last night, and ended up back at K’s house as her housemates were home for the weekend. As the night went on I didn’t get the opportunities I was hoping for, someone else did! As the evening progressed this guy (who I had just met last night, don’t know his name) was getting closer to K, and they ended up pretty much arms round each other. People eventually went home, Stevie and i crashed on sofas downstairs, K went to bed, followed about 20 mins later by this guy with some excuse about his phone being up there, didn’t see him again till morning. Im prob worrying over this too much, as it very soon- so its prob just a rebound reaction, and I doubt much happened. But i still felt physically sick knowing I was downstairs and they were upstairs. Now, 1) do I wait it out and see what happens? 2) Approach K directly, tell her how I feel and possibly jeopardize 2 friendships? 3) Approach Stevie, as there quite close and she may be able to explain situation/K’s behavior a bit more? I’m thinking 2 or 3. Any ideas? Edit: spelling
  3. Are you sure- it is a LONG story! and im very hungry- tell you what, il go get some food- and if your ready for it, say so and il post when i get back.
  4. Dont worry, its not anything like "i got drunk and shagged another random fat girl" or " i just got someone pregant". Its more "why does my love life always have to be this f*cking complicated"
  5. arrrrrrghhghghggg feck feckety feck feck. long story!
  6. Im aiming to be there, but dont know when. If the weathers terrible i will stay at home with family (sorry for guys who need floor, ive gone home - family coming down), if weathers good i will try and escape to come ride.

Thanks for cheering me up this morning! Sig'd!
  8. im pretty sure it was endsleigh i looked at a while ago, and it seemed really expensive! maybe theres other cover then whats shown on the mbuk leaflet, but by those proces insuring my kona XC/freeride rig and my trials bike worked out at about £300 for the year!!!! Thats more than my mums car insurance ffs.
  9. 1.5m x 1m really isnt much space, you will find that very constricting very soon, unless thats the area of the layout and you have mroe room for falling off, rolling in/out. Get hold of pallets and whack stuff together. watch some vids, look at pics. dont make things too permanent as has been said, you may want to chop and change a bit.
  10. Why oh why oh why are we still arguing the plane thing? I thought we had proved the disbelievers in the thread before. The plane WILL take off, if you dont think it will, re read the ORIGONAL wording, and google it- all is explained. If you still dont understand something is wrong in your brain.
  11. Fair enough, ive never personally had that problem with maggies. I always set up v's ( if im runnign them on a bike) at a high tension, rather than a low one. again personal preference. Interesting. If you run low tension, and do a lot of comp riding doesnt grit and mud kinda muck up the cable and/or pivot springs casing unevern tension, and poor return? I get that on my commuter bike in the winter.
  12. Magura and shimano systems use mineral oil, while others like Hope and Hayes use Dot fluid. Mineral oil could be considered the better fluid, as it has better lubricating properties, and is not hygroscopic, so does not need to be changed anually to keep it at its best. The brakes that use dot fluid tend to be from more 'industrial' companies or ones from a motorbike background. What fluid it is doesnt make much difference to the feel of the brake, but you must use the correct fluid in the correct brake, otherwise parts will get damaged- mainly seals.
  13. Fair enough. I do agree Vs are quicker to set up than magies, but that wont personally get me to use them. I like maggies and thats that. Had vs on a previous build, didnt like it. also tried rear disk wasnt the best, although i liked it.
  14. Maybe, i would still take more than 5 mins to do a complete v install however, im a perfectionist. Im quite happy to spend that long on my brake, as i know i shouldnt need to touch it again for a year. Set it up on my orange a year ago and havent touched a single bolt since- can you say that about your v brake out of interest? I cleaned, bled, and then set up my brake (on evo mounts too). I prob could have doen it quicker, but why rush when i had nothing else to do- it was raining and other people werent out riding yet!
  15. I have uni halls floor, approx free space 4ftx8ft + a bit by the door! give me a pm.
  16. Now, i would be perfectly happy to do this, if removing and refitting my rear wheel wasnt such a b*****d of a job! have to let the tyre down to get it out between the brakes, then undo my leeson 360 dropouts, then untension my chain to allow the wheel to move out of the drop outs! Reverse procedure to get it rideable again! a hell of a lot of effort. Edit: also, the bike must be in the bag when being moved in and out of halls, so where do i keep tools do do the (re)assembly, and the bag itself? do i need to lock my bike up, then take the bag and tools back up to my room and hope some thieving pikey hasnt taken it by that time? Its so much effort to do that its easier to walk/cycle on commuter bike to prawns to pick it up (see below). right now im just keeping it at Prawns house in there basement, and picking it up when i ride it. Not ideal, but i dont want another bike stolen.
  17. Its all about patience and set up. Ive just built up my new frame, and spent an hour setting up the rear brake, but it was worth it! I bled the brake using my favorite fluid, 2.5wt mineral shock oil. exactly the same properties as std maggie fluid, but half the viscosity. I did the bleed using a bleed kit, and think i have achived a perfect bleed, if you want the full technique fine, but ask- its too long to wright here. I will do a how to with pics if people want it! Then spent ages getting my fiddly evo mounts set up, now with zero tpa my lever doesnt quite travel far enough to be comfortable, so should settle in nicely. Pads looks as square as they can be, nice and close to rim, and no rubbing at all! I have plaz pads on a ceramic rim (the pads are now a year old, and there is measurable wear at all! they actually have more material on them than there listed as coming with from new, by 0.5mm!) and the brake is awesome.
  18. I do find my brake pulls further when its cold, even with a perfect bleed. If you bleed your brake in the cold, you shoudlnt have this problem- but you may find your pads hit the rim and bind when warm!
  19. Bargain scrappy find of wednesday! Went down the local scrappy in search of a radiator for dads discovery (suspected small leak), didint find one, but did find a fresh in mk2 GTI! with front side damage. Parcel shelf, carpeted shelf side supports, boot carpet, space saver spare wheel (so i now have a flat boot floor), split rear seats (black) and front passenger seat (black), plus 2 headlights from another golf, along with a load of dash switches. Total cost: £40 doorcars i didnt get, front right was mangled with door. drivers seat was very worn (and possibly damaged). All is in already, so nick no more complaining! passegner comfort is much improved, seat doesnt pop, wobble or fall off now! as well as being more supportive.
  20. No, i think you need your own poll for that one Tori. Completly different part of the anatomy, would possibly invalidate the scientific findings of this one.
  21. The bikehut brakes are indeed better than the tektro speced on the built bikes. hydo would be an interesting comparison though, think the bikehut ones would still win.
  22. Interesting, the hydro looked very hayes to me, even takes hayes pads i think. They are an absolute bargain, and i expect the work pretty well. they dont look rubbish.
  23. does the google translator trick not work?
  24. how the hell did you get a quote of £1300 fully comp under your own name?? thats silly good. I wouldnt bother with alloys and bodykit in your first year driving, they wont add to the car much, and will hike you insurance up massively- possibly to the point that no one will insure you.
