  1. "my brakes do not need oiling" [edit] has anyone been told by an old man that your brakes need oil?
  2. This is very true. But that worker is extremely experienced in what he does. Yes he may get paid muck all but he can use those machines damn well. 'Made in Taiwan' isn't a bad thing. 'Made in the USA' doesn't really mean too much either. S&M bmx products aren't superb!
  3. Another vote for DX32. Got one on the mod. And they look sweet on the stock as well. So i will buy one for the stock as well when i start building it

    Bmx Questions

I just found this.... Your brake should of been good. It's hard to explain why it didn't work. But ill explain it with the example of a magura. The pads on a magura have a certain limit where they can only push out so far. If the pots aren't close enough to the rim it will appear that the pads touch the rim (just). But as the pots are so far out they can't push the pad any harder into the rim as they are already pushed as far as they will go. So therefore no real friction or power. Same principle on a U brake. Did you try changing the pad spacers round? This would have helped in giving more power. The same problem can happen with a vee brake as well. Sorry about my lack of explanation. I understand.
  5. I think they've uploaded. Don't be shocked but these videos suck. Real bad. [edit] Dunno where the vids are. Maybe someone tell me where they are after i uploaded them. I'm not going to upload them to youtube or anywhere else as its really not worth watching.
  6. Shorts! and a tee to show your support for a company/ shop whichever you like. Helmet of some kind.
  7. If this doesn't get sorted someone tell me and ill put in .avi or .wmv format for you all
  8. Have a look at the new(ish) KHE street freecoaster. Same priciple but slightly different working. Also has a setting where you can change the engagement on it.
  9. Some of us are heading up to Bristol tommoro for a chilled day riding. Some on stock and some on bmx so should be quite fun. Meet us there if you like. Providing the weather holds were be there.
  10. For some reason your already on my msn. Small world
  11. Thats what im trying to learn at the moment. I have found experimenting with speed helps and also using the front brake differently. I still can't get any further than the bash guard though.
  12. Yeh i haven't been there for a while. Only ever been to the old wooden park and concrete park. Another ride from cheltenham (Shaun H).
  13. Hello Worcester riders or any one that has ridden there. I know the place has a good bmx scene allthough the concrete park is filled with alot of 'we don't like foreign riders' skaters. But anyhow i remember seeing some trials riders up there one time. What is your trials scene like and what are your spots like?

    How To Fakie

Heatsinks way of learning is a very good one so try it. Fakies being impressive, i never really took any notice. Thats cool though. I think maybe you have reached the point in learning where you have the ability and knowledge of how to do it but just require practice now. So i guess keep trying it and it will get more fun every meter you go (backwards). You could try having a go at fakeing a little faster. This should help you stay up.
  15. Never said it wouldn't work. Alright i will shut up about the ribbon idea. Was only having a laugh. Paper, now were talking.
  16. On the 3rd September there will be another St Georges jam happening. Just to let you know it is a bmx jam. Check out www.bodyenglishmag.co.uk Should be no less than 5 of us riding Bristol this Saturday as well. On the trials bikes that is.
  17. I am picky But isn't wanting white rim tape also being picky

    How To Fakie

Try hoping to straighten yourself up or hop to regain balance. That might work for you. It should center your balance every time you hop. When you say you fall to the left, do you mean you just lean to much to one side or do you turn your front wheel and then loose balance? Try keeping your feet on at all costs and see what happens. It is rather funny especially on a bmx as your pedal will hit the floor and you will spin out of control and proberly/ will go flying but you should end up rolling out of it. So it won't hurt
  19. Maybe if you were holding the tape via your thumb then it would work and shouldn't come undone untill the tape gets all the way round. But maybe if the tape wasn't wide enough you'd have to get it very straight so 2 lines of tape would need to be used parallel to each other to cover the whole service. If you get what i mean. I now like ribbon even more However i don't ride through deep pudles.
  20. Depends on what colour they really are. I remember them being blue (ish). But yes like the site says they are infact clear green so my mistake. I will go have a look at what colour they look like on my bike later.
  21. Thats what i meant with being a pain to sort out. Think about it. Could be quite annoying with fixing the tape down then going round the rim then the tape coming unstuck. I'll go with the ribbon technique myself. But all to their own.
  22. It depends how well you want your brake to work. Maybe try a light grind. I'm running Hs11 with Coust Blue in CNC Backings on a light grind on a 19" DX32. Seems to work better than the rest i've tried. Up to at the end of the day. I recommend Onza Citrus! 11 quid from Tartybikes and work well, very well. Cheap and effective.

    How To Fakie

You mean turning back round out of a fakie? Try pulling your rear brake when your bike comes round to 90degrees to bring the front wheel up. With enough momentum the bike should turn around by its self. Hope that helps. Be easier if someone showed you. Keep practicing.
  24. Both have been proven. Remember that there is a 'brake pad review' section right at the top! It's sticky for a reason. Easy mistake to make though
  25. Could be quite a pain to sort out though? One side is sticky and the other isn't. May attract dirt? Maybe use some white ribbon or other material and put some tape round that to stick it in. So only the ribbon shows through the rim holes.
