I've not touched ProE for a while but Inventor would take of the wires with a 3D sketch. Series of paired points as paths, sketch the wire dia and loft?
Awesome stuff Rowan, I liked that a lot. I ride most of those spots and even if I could ride like that i'd never think of putting those lines together.
Found a couple of images when I used to design underground coal mining equipment. Inventor is the weapon of choice but have about 8 years of ProE under my belt as well.
I had the same problem going from Brisa bars (28.6) to oversize stem (31.8). I had a local guy machine a tube up which I then cut a single split in to allow clamping. Works a treat.
Cheers for all the replies and suggestions. For now i'm going to drill and tap the V8's out to M5 and screw bigger pins in, making them deeper and sit a bit more flush. If that doesnt slow the ripping out rate i'll look again at alternatives.
I'll have to slip my treads over your pedals next time I see you and see how I get on. There seems to be a lot of similar styles to the DX but not many can match them - gotta be a good thing.
Mark do you mean with a crosshead is why they are shit or just in general. A bit of clarification as to why would be appreciated. I'm tearing pins out of my V8's at a moderate rate and want to minimise that.
I find that interesting. I raced mine hard for a good 5 years including several 6hr 12hr and 24hr races and only replaced the odd bearing here and there. I used to ride everything in a 44T as well. I'm sure I could get another 5 years out of it.
Has anyone run a Hugi/DTSwiss style engagement hub for trials? Simple design but not sure if it would hold up. I raced one for years on a XC bike. It outlived a few rims and is still in awesome condition. Very nice sound but low ep's.
I'm with Rowan. If you know how to make it quieter let me know. I want to attract the least attention - especially when we were riding out past Lawrence Hill the other day
Looks quite good apart from the fixed chain line. I dont see how price is related to tension or even how lots of tension is a good thing. I see on here all the time people saying they need more tension. All you need is enough to keep the chain slack in check and stop it rattling over the sprockets on big hits. Look at all the people running rear mechs, the spring tension would be equivalent to that Alfine. My current tensioner has the tension of an elastic band.
