  1. As a few other have said, Greens are brilliant on a smooth rim. I had to change to pads with less bite and a bit more of modulation because I hadn't done many moves to front. I couldnt get used to them and thought i'd do myself an injury.
  2. Nick PM me your number. I'll be out after work if my pawls arrive.
  3. Have you tried loosening the caliper, applying the brake and then doing the caliper back up? This will hopefully find its natural centre assuming the 9's are dual piston brakes (note spelling).
  4. Did they give you your money back because they realised they can't educate pork?
  5. Just like last time hey? You forgot to write 'definitely be there' and then not show up. Loser.
  6. If this frame has a built in booster I personally dont think you need a bolt on one and should maybe look at your brake set-up to eliminate the sponginess. I made a crossover protector which looks like a booster but is much much slimmer. Can send pics if you want to some ideas.
  7. Is it just me or is that chain running the right way on top and the wrong way when it wraps around the rear sprocket?
  8. I'll be there if the weather isn't too crap.
  9. Agreed. I think thats why when you first attempt them you end up going backwards a little, you are gripping the pedals with your feet by rotating your feet forwards which is then pushing you back. After some time you learn to counteract this and go more or less straight up.
  10. The weight saving is far from massive and is hardly noticeable. Speed isn't really an issue in trials so the saving in rotating mass isn't spectacular either. Every little helps though I guess. If you were to take a single wall rim, 32H and drilled 30 20mm dia holes in it and the thickness was 2mm you'd remove about 51g of material. Even if it was double wall you'd remove 102g. As a percentage its an ok saving over the weight of the rim but when you consider a dual ply tyre that weighs around 1.2kg its not much.
  11. What are you building? It better be strong. Theres a difference between big and something the size of a barn.
  12. You get fatter every time I see you! Lay off the pies dude. Nice gapping. I think you've made a new move - the 'fat gap'
  13. 22? I hardly remember 22! I'm 35 this year and started about 2 years ago. If you're questioning it at 22 you need to consider taking up another hobby - putting ships in bottles perhaps. Go and ride.
  14. I remember Volatile Visions (Zoli Borbasi) used to do a lot filming for Steve Marsh. My suggestion would be to contact Zoli through his website.
  15. I recall a 2 wheel drive system some years ago (about when Slingshots first made an appearance) where a bevel drive was routed to a front driven hub via a flexible cable - I guess a bit like a mechanical speedo cable but geared on the ends. Needless to say it didn't take off.
  16. My only question is WHY? I appreciate the engineering but I cant see any advantage over a system with a derailleur. One of the articles mentions its good if you want a single speed setup. Last time I checked, 2 gears isn't a single speed. Yeah it would look cool to passers by but imagine what weirdos are actually going to stop and ask questions. We attract enough imbeciles when riding trials!
  17. Awesome vid. I like how you just keep hitting lines until you get it. I'd be a bit rattled after bails like that. You could save some money by not running a front wheel and brake - you don't appear to use them much
  18. I have the same frustration...
  19. Wrap a rag around the end cap before you go grabbing it with vicegrips if you want to keep it in good condition.
  20. Go for the vicegrips or drilling/ezyout option. Heat/bashing/grinding as a last resort.
  21. Variation on my previous one. Have replaced the spring with a rubber band kindly left by Royal Mail. Test ride this afternoon was successful.
  22. This is a clip from Bristol last weekend. Not sure if this is the type of height you mean. If you freeze it just before he drops off you can see the front wheel drops a lot, it may even be below the rear wheel. 24. Going to what retard? Should there be a 'be' in there somewhere? You can ride with the special kids. Still not sure how on earth you got validated Jeffers
  25. Nope, will be in a forest in Wales watching cars going past upside down. At a stretch i'll get back for a quick session late in the afternoon but its unlikely.
