  1. Thanks all this is great input. As i said before I've never tried them so I'm a complete hook novice. Thanks a lot. Perhaps this is where I'm going wrong. Would it be a better technique to just pull up rather than pedal upping as i did in the video?
  2. to be honest it was probably the sketchy cameraman... Proper camera can sit on a tripod quite nicely so that eliminates that problem!
  3. Thanks. Yeah I'll keep at the old hooks. And yeah I plan on making a longer edit, this was more to test the camera on the phone to see if it's worth leaving my proper camera at home. If we get any more decent days this year then I'll probably do a bit more!
  4. Well For the last month I've been getting back into trials after taking a 3 year break to bmx/mtb. Went for a scout around our local area and came across this place! Looks like an old derelict mine, Apart from the broken glass/empty beer cans/ general chav waste it turned out to be a pretty cool spot. So much more i wanna get done here so watch this space in future. Filmed on the iPhone 4S. Not bad quality i must say but still doesn't come close to my sony. Edited using iMovie on the phone as my pc is ready to blow at any moment and firing up premier would not be the best idea. People who can hook to back wheel. See last clip. What am I doing wrong? I've never really tried them if I'm honest but they look cool as pie so I'd like to be able to send one occasionally. Thanks fellas Alan.
  5. That place with all the cube block things at the end? Where is that? Looks like Portland, Oregon.
  6. You can get race frames with vee mounts on, standard do some... But yeah the maggy mounts were a total success. Dirt jumping in the summer was made so much more fun with a brake that actually worked... Oh and whoever mentioned about the earth tape... They are my spin faster stripes.
  7. Great camera work and nice editing. Riding was OK. I'm not a hater of TGS I just reckon there should of been a few more lines rather than one move per clip if that makes sense?
  8. Not just me that seen no demo rig or bikes in the 1st clip? I've never understood why Ryan rides trials with suspension forks. Surely with a rigid set up he'd ride so much better. I mean he's a very good rider, but without the squish on the front surely he'd be even better!
  9. Enjoyed all of that his style on natural was real nice and had loads of flow. I just hope he remembered to take the keys outta the ignition of that Porsche.
  10. Thanks man I rode the revell as it is for the 1st time today actually and it rides so nice! Puts me in mind of my old zebdi frame from like '04
  11. Hello. Just been playing with the camera on the new iphone, felt it would be rude not to take photos of my toys! Street trials: Revell frame, Pro 2/ronnie wheels. Lite guy forks. Hayes 9 203 f+r Zoo bars. Middleburns. TGS: Gu frame, Echo forks/stem/cranks/freewheel. Onza carbon bars, trialtech rear wheel onza front. BMX: Mankind new world frame with HS33 mounts brazed on for dirt jumping. Kisbikeco Stylus prototype forks (now in production see website) Kisbikeco bars + seat. Premium stem, Khe freecoaster Proper hub Alienation rims. EDIT: New one Echo control - Same bits as the revell except for magura louise 203 front and maggy rear with rock pads! Sick!
  12. That drop onto the sand is walton on the naze isn't it?
  13. This is great. So smooth. The lack of correction hops makes it flow so much better!
  14. That looks lush! Is it me or is the front wheel radial laced on one side?
  15. Just wanna point out that that song is so fitting with the epicly nice weather that day.
  16. Video still. Auto focus absolutely destroyed the clip. This is the sharpest frame
  17. Anything with Brian Cox and Jim Al-Khalili. UFO's - The secret evidence is also one to watch. And "Life after humans" I think it's called was really good.
  18. Just a pointer, hit it from the inside.... Seen people trying to smack them off from the outside before... Hit it on one side once, then on the opposite side once, then back and forth etc etc. It will come out pretty easy with a bit of perseverance.
  19. I was gonna suggest this but you beat me to it! Good skills, the sidehops at the start are pretty big! looks like once you've got the technique dialled you'd add at least another 12" to your height. I find trying to land both wheels simultaneously from a side hop helps me keep in control when I'm up. Also looks like your rushing a little bit to set up for the side. Overall great little vid and your bike looks rather nice! Alan.
  20. Possible solution: After asking a few engineers one pointed me in the direction of a specialist tool shop on an industrial estate a few miles from where I work. Tool. I have one on order and am going to pick it up on Saturday. Looks like the small teeth like bits on the end slot into the gaps in the tap, bob's your uncle it twists out! Frame saved! (hopefully )
  21. I'll ride there in future definitely!
  22. My bad, khe collapse chain discontinued... Such a shame they were awesome chains.
  23. If the chain line is straight then the bb length won't matter. Kool chains do like to open up. I've had one on my pitbull for less than 10 rides now and i noticed it starting to open apart yesterday. Stick a KHE collapse on it. Or if you wanna go all out stick one of the super fat kool chains on, you'll never snap one of them.
