  1. I know, such a let down. Was thinking it might be a long shot like but would love it if anyone knows of anywhere still carrying old stock.
  2. After hunting about all over the closest place I can find one is in Australia. I remember back in the day everyone used to love them and would like one on my new stock build What about an alternative? I use Kool chains but I don't really trust them when going big. Seen the gusset chain on tarty but I'm pretty sure a few people slated them back in the day? May be wrong. Thaaaanks!
  3. Looks like rather than twisting the whole slave you twist the extra silver bit that holds the pad, then bolt it back into place. Looks nicely simple. Bet it's light too.
  4. It's open system? It's 2 rides old. Surely if it needed a bleed I'd feel the air in it and I'd lose all pressure if I was to pump the brake upside down? Things only seem to change when temperature changes.
  5. Really enjoyed them. The hook up to slip down to hook up again on the 2nd vid was pretty damn cool!
  6. Just gone dual disc on my 221, and as a temporary measure (till I find some mono trials/ tech trials reasonably priced) I've stuck the rear brake off my dirt jumper on. It's an Avid Elixr. Now why is it when i took the dirt jumper in from the shed the wheel spun nice and freely. Put it on the monty and it's pretty much stuck on. Goes outside on it for 10 mins and it frees up. Seems like something is expanding in the heat/contracting in the cold. The brake is 2 rides old (2 rides if you count taking the dirt jumper out and spending more time on the bmx twice). I heard of this happening on the old hope C2 brakes and here's my questions: 1. Exactly what's causing this to happen 2. Why does it not happen when the brake is being used extensively and generating its own heat. 3. Why have I never came across this running open system brakes and hs33s? I know the open systems have the reservoir etc etc But I would assume it would make the brake feel slightly different momentarily.
  7. Ah.. That is the frame I longed for all those years ago!! Although I'd personally change the bars to risers to make it a little more comfortable. Looks nice though!
  8. Do you know any bmxers? Might be a good idea to go ride with them and play on their bikes to make your own opinion up on frame sizing as I know it's personal preference. Check out the wethepeople completes. I'm really impressed with where they are going. Have you considered building a custom? May be a pretty bold move but you will end up with a bike you won't really need to change anything on. I find when looking at completes (even top models) I am already looking at changing cranks/wheels/bars etc. Just a thought.
  9. Not gonna be able to make it now guys. Have a good ride.
  10. I shall let you know if I'm coming tomorrow. Am I right in thinking there is a Dynamix trials session on sunday? Have you been and is it any good? Also. Is there anywhere cheaper to park than the carpark right next to Exi?
  11. Trusted brands: Wethepeople Mankind United Kisbikeco Fit Federal Sunday Subrosa Those are the 1st that come to mind. Would advise against verde. Especially as you say you are going to ride the hell out of it. One of the guys i ride with snapped 3 verde frames (he's a small lad and a smooth rider). Frame sizes are very important. If you've only really rode trials bikes you'll be best going for a longer top tube frame. I'd probably say no smaller than 20.75" maybe even closer to 21". And probably go for some wider bars as you will no doubt be used to the hench bars that we use on the trials. You also have the option of rear hub type. The two main ones being freehub and freecoaster. Freehub being your profile hubs etc etc... Freecoaster being KHE geisha etc. If you're not sure what a freecoaster is then search Karl Poynter, Rob Ridge or Bruce Krisman. Before committing to a freecoaster should you chose to go down that route I'd strongly recommend trying one out. Maybe I've gone a bit too in depth, if so I apologize. 2nd hand would definitely be your best bet. For £500 you'll get something real nice. There are a LOT of posers in BMX that just role up at the park and sit and do nothing on top spec bikes.
  12. When you say Newcastle skatepark do you mean Exhibition park? MAY be up for this.
  13. There's plenty to ride in durham/newcastle like. Always up for riding either of them two.
  14. I'm not THAT far from there and ride all over really! Much to ride around bish and the surrounding area?
  15. Going off topic so apologies in advance... If you decide to look into a new frame I'll almost definitely have the old one off you.
  16. So I'm in need of an anger ride. Myself and a friend are gonna take a drive through tomorrow. Gonna probably park at the sea life centre and ride through from there riding mostly the sea walls and then have an explore through the town. Anyone fancy joining us? Would be ace to meet some new guys and check up the lesser known spots in scarborough. I've never really rode trials there before. Alan.
  17. Do you have to pull the lever in a bit before the pistons on the slaves start moving at all with the tpa backed off fully? Or is do they move as soon as you touch the lever? If there's a bit of movement in the lever before the slaves move then you have a small amount of air in your system and will have to bleed it. If it's instant then the brake is fine!
  18. +1 I lost a week of my life from concussion. I don't remember much from it at all. By the look of that you could probably get miles higher than that wall dude.
  19. So I've been charged £85 for going £6.35 overdrawn last month. £25 for a £5.99 payment. and get this £25 for a £1.36 itunes payment. Plus another £35 charge. Going to fight this obviously. Do i stand any chances of getting the fees reduced? Or am i truly F worded? Any tips on things to say/scream at them down the phone that may help? Cheers. Edit: Almost forgot. Bank is Santander.
  20. I'm from just up the other way near middlesbrough and have never rode york. Would be interested to check it out though!
  21. Thanks, yeah I'll experiment and see what comes of it!
