Ages. It really will. Just put a few stripes of it on each side of the rim, drag the brake a bit, wait for the "EEEEEEEERRRRRKKKKKKKKK" and then you're good to go. Just don't lose the tar. Like I do. Every time.

Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday, to you. Happy Birthday, to/dear (varies on location) William. Happy Birthday, to you. Oh look, MrMonkey made you a cake.

Cap: Clean first time, every time :) Cool vid though, some big ol' burly stuff going on.

End of Engagevid7, where James Porter repeatedly nails his head into the floor trying 360's...

Can't help with the vid, Dan, but if you go to "My Controls" then "Edit Signature", you can put all your e-mail address/name into your signature so you don't have to keep typing it :)

:) I don't know the majority of New Members, but there's a thread elsewhere nominating people to be validated, so I go from that. Also I just look who's posting at the time I happen to be on, and see what's what from that? I've validated countless people I don't know :) Although with the amount of faggots using multiple accounts now, I also have to IP check all the new members to try and stop people like, say, Dan_brisa, Trials Boy et al from getting validated when they shouldn't be, although people slip through the net...

People still do nice street on long, low silver bikes though? Remember that footage of Nick Manning (I think?) on whatever the crap bike it was riding a skatepark? Informative post there :) When 24" frames first came out, people said they'd never catch on and they'd be pointless. Now everyone wants one. History repeating maybe?

Tedious. Monkey 1 - 0 Matt. End of.

What? Think about it though: My bike's decked out with some fairly nice parts, but most are second-hand. Do we post new prices? The RRP from when they were bought if some of it's old? Or what :)

For people who can't operate Google yet, here's the link, courtesy of Google: http://www.banksy.co.uk Quote of the day, from his site: You don't go to a restaurant and order a meal because you want to have a shit.

I just thought "Wait Mark, did you actually say what he was spraying?" No, no I didn't. IT's the dividing wall between Israel and Palestine. Beats spraying rats in Liverpool I guess :) Dunno what his site is, sorry. It's been in Sites Vids & Pics, check out CLS's topics in that forum and you'll find it :)
-
Hey all, Second time I've done this sorta post? Weird... Anyway, they were showing a news piece on...er...the news, but yeah, they said there was a British graffiti artist spraying it. I thought "Banksy?" Seconds later, yes, it was him. He's done some awesome stuff on there though, looks real cool. Got a pretty good site too that CLS made, well worth checking out. Mark

Not really? Disc hubs aren't worth getting cheap crappy versions of 'cos they'll die, wheelbuilding doesn't get cheaper, the Avid disc is £49.99 from CRC atm, that Avid lever's cheap anyway? You could get some cheapo forks, but they'd be heavy and weak? So it's either do it and don't cut corners, do it and cut corners and end up with broken components, or just get a front Magura or something.
-
That's funny, my Konigs have lasted for ages? Wore down about 2mm or so, then just sorta sorted their shit out, and haven't worn much since, really. If it's rim coating and not pad dust, why would that make the Heatsink pads shit, Pete?
-
That post made no sense :) Anyway: Echo Easy Disc Only = approx. £80 Avid brake = £50-ish (call it £55 incl. cable) Avid SD5 lever = £10 Total = £145 or so for that. If you need the hub too, it's gonna be about £38 for a Hope XC front hub, then an additional £15 for spokes 'n' build (maybe as much as £20). So, in total, you're looking at £203 or so.

I got the Death-Stare of a lifetime yesterday. Backwheeled this 40" high root that sticks out of a bank/wall in town, and some kid saw me. He was on a bike, with his mum and gran, and he went "I'm going to do that" and started riding at the wall. They shouted to him to stop and he did, and the gran gave me a look that pretty much said "I'm going to tear your face off". People will copy you riding, so try and set a decent example I guess... Anyway, I'd really recommend the Giro Xen. Mine fits super nicely, it's light as a feather and really well ventilated. On offer at ChainReactionCycles now too (when isn't it? :)). Just make sure you try any helmet on first though. Some online shops are cool and will let you buy and return it if it doesn't fit. Check with 'em first though. Measure your head though to get a rough guide of what *might* fit. The majority of manufacturers have sizing charts on their sites :)

Bearing in mind after the grind it'll feel shit 'til it's bedded in. Are your pads set up well? Square to the rim, decent distance away? What is the brake bled with? Are you actually landing stuff well, or are you riding shit and expecting the brake to hold?
-
The XTP one, if it's 1800euros works out as £1,215. That's not really the masses, although being spec'd with an Eno trial as standard turns me on...

JT!, think for a f**king second, please. Breaking a chain is far easier to do and 'get right' than putting a chain back together. I've never had a problem breaking a chain, but splaying sideplates, mashign the ends of pins - it can happen when you try and join them. It's joining them that causes them to be weaker, so instead of trying to be 'clever' or whatever by pointing out he must have used a chain-breaker in the past, use your f**king head.
