  1. Er, have you missed the point of filming or something?
  2. Having a bit of a longer trailer so you get more of an idea for the 'feel' of the DVD/video and just a better idea of the sort of riding would be cool, but I guess 'cos of the crash you were largely screwed. Sorry to hear about all that shit, sounds pretty nasty. Good riding, what little of it there was anyway.
  3. Try and get the motions a bit smoother. It was a bit "Drop the front, pedal back" *tiny pause* "kick". If you got it all flowing, you'd maximise the preload and it'd send you that bit further. Try lifting the bike a little higher, then really placing the back wheel where you want to go. Really kick it out in front as much as you can.

    Brake Pad

It could contribute as tar would 'stick' it to the rim so it'd be pulled apart from the backing as the backing retracted but the pad stayed, but again, I've seen pads come out without having tar used...

    Brake Pad

They do just come away sometimes. Matt's V-pads (the production ones) did, I've got a few CRMs here that have - it just happens. Do you do any fakie moves or anything like that?
  6. The point he was trying to make (apart from the fact that he wants to be American? :)) was that there's no real point in submitting an idea if it isn't what's been asked for? A load of people don't appear to have actually read what Steve wrote, so a load of the ideas are kinda useless 'cos they'd never be do-able...
  7. More interesting to work out what happens when an unstoppable force hits an immoveable object :)
  8. Plaz CRMs are perfect for the front. Mine haven't worn in any noticeable way for the last 9 months, and they work really, really well.

    Speeding

In my lessons I have to keep checking speedo just 'cos it IS easy to just creep over the speed limit in towns. Outside of town, my instructor restricts me to 50mph but it just feels a bit slow sometimes. Saying that, other days everything feels 'faster' for some reason... After I pass (whenever that is) I'll probably go over the national speed limit, but in towns I'll stick to it just because it's there for a reason...
  10. SM/Mod/Admin group rides, otherwise known as the "SM Drinkathon". Able to delete their posts. Able to edit without the "Edited by..." thing. Able to take part in the "SM Bartering Thread". Able to take part in the "The Official: 'I just got in and I'm far too drunk' Thread" :) And give feedback on beta versions of the forum, help mods/admin validate people by nominating people in there for validation, point out topics that need to be closed, posts to be deleted, etc.
  11. Another important point: COLOUR HAS A U IN IT :P That's better :)
  12. So new, you've been registered as "Jamiequin" on this forum since early July? Why not just use the same account?
  13. That's better :) Not liking the whole "can see every bone in her body" thing :P
  14. Viscosity? :P Either way, as has been mentioned, it's basically the '04 or earlier lever type, the '05 or later lever type, RB, CNC'd lever blade version or...er...well, that's it really. Just bleeding with water and changing pads/setup changed mine 100% for the better, so just dick around :) Kris Leeson used to weld two lever blades together 'cos he prefered the longer setup, but I wouldn't really bother with that :)
  15. Wasn't having a go Tomm :) Was just using you as an example. I thought it was kinda sketchy with HB too, but again 'cos of the Hoffman Bikes thing, but also 'cos if a trials rider said to you "What d'you think of HB?" you'd be a bit "What?" People just know what Heatsink is about, and it's already got a sort of corporate identity in a way, so just changing the logo but keeping the actual name would make more sense?
  16. Personally, I'd just get a nice hardtail frame. With the £1000 you'll have saved over the Orange frame, you can then afford a nicer spec for the rest of the bike. Riding a hardtail first will make you learn how to use the bike more effectively over rougher terrain (you'll learn how to let the bike flow underneath you better, as opposed to just letting sus take the hits. That way, when you get a full susser you'll be able to set the sus up more effectively to take care of the bigger hits), you'll be forced to focus on line choice 'cos you'll have to pick the smoothest, fastest line or you'll die (unlike full sus riders who often just ride over shit knowing they've got 8" of travel backing them up), and you'll jsut develop way better bike handling skills. Coupled to that it'll be more versatile so you can ride into town on it more easily, you can ride more tech street on it, you can ride skateparks on it, etc. It just makes more sense when you're starting. I never liked the feel of full sussers, which is why I basically always rode hardtails for DH. If you think you can't ride DH on a hardtail, you really need to check out the hardtail category at the Dragon Downhills. Ridiculous :P But yeah, hardtail, 1.5" headtube 4-6" travel forks, decent setup. Problem solved :)
  17. Just my £0.02. If this logo is to be used on the website/T-shirts/stickers/Hoodies/wherever, it is to promote the brand. Therefore, surely, to garner more attention for the company/site, having the actual company name would be better instead of some random choice of initials which no-one has used before? Not picking on Tomm here or anything, but I haven't ever heard anyone refer to Heatsink as "HSB" before, so wouldn't it make more sense to have "Heatsink Bikes" or just "Heatsink" as the dominant feature of the logo, so that people actually know what it is? Meh...

    Brake Pad

What pads were they? Or were the company you're testing for (if you still are?) kick your arse for spreading the fact their backing snapped? :)
  19. Where'd that blinding inspiration come from? Oh, wait,
  20. No joke. Unfortunately, some people never learn.
  21. Lesson learn then :) Anyway, it was closed largely because public pleas for validation aren't accepted, and also 'cos the majority of T-F were about to reply with "That isnt funy lyk, ur shit hahahahaahahaha", or words to that effect. It's just the way shit goes here, pretty much.
  22. Am I allowed to make the huge assumption that this might have something to do with a topic of your's being locked?
  23. I put the ZOO! stem on my bike, and that was slightly lower than my T-Master stem but felt like shit. However, I also felt the T-Lite "Short" didn't ride super nice, but you dig it, so I guess we're just not two peas from the same pod. Give it a try, I guess? Da-Bomb spec their mods with pretty much stock stems and riser bars, although I suppose Da-Bomb aren't exactly the barometer for good bike setup...
