  1. Idea here is some of those things which you have kept on the low down for what ever reason, kept a secret from your parents, Girlfriends, Wifes, Boss, friends we throw out there for others to read and have a little laugh about. Maybe even guilty little pleasures which arent that bad. Seen it on a few other forums and it seems to have been a success and makes for a pretty funny read! I'll start off with some pretty basic ones. Although i am a fully grown adult i love playing with lego and cheese strings. I also still push the trolley around the supermarket pretending it is a car with supporting sounds. Kermit the frog scared me quite a lot when i was younger, and i am still pretty creeped out by him now. I am scared shitless of my new house and will do anything to avoid being left in it on my own at night. I covered my housemates superdry jacket in cement (Long story, i was mixing it in the kitchen, knocked it over, his jacket was on the floor in front of the wasking machine) and i threw it away in my drunk state, he has been asking for it ever since but i just cant bring myself to tell him. In my first trials comp i kept putting both feet down and getting 5 points, didnt realise why until some one told me at the end of the day. There are loads more but i will save them for later. What are yours?
  2. Just takes a bit of getting used to. I think the main reason i started with 1 finger on the levers was because i rode like a tank and needed as many digits keeping the bar in my hands. I am so used to it now, I had loads of issues when i took my bike test because i was used to using just one finger on the levers. Keep at it and you will get it. Get your levers in the right place and adjusted and it'll soon work out.

    Students

budgeting? Buy a super big bag of chips from tescos. Spend the rest on super beer bargains from the supermarket. Take super beer bargains to pub/club with free student entry (sneaky sneaky of course). Have super fun times. Enjoy uni.
  4. I thought it was 07 when their production moved from Italy? Either way pre 2006/7 DJ series fork will be spot on. You can get DJI's for a tad over £100 now. if you want a QR though the II or III are just as good.

    Pub Bikes

I don't know if anyone else uses a bike for a similar purpose, but after bumping into a guy at the pub on a similar steed i wondered what anyone else was using, and if they were using one. I was using my M1 as a pub bike but it was similar to riding a bowl of custard so a change had to be made. For the costly sum of £70 i was landed with this crock. 14" ADS Identiti Dr Jekyll frame, pre "07 Dj2's, 24" halo combats and some other parts. Drive train is cheap although i have my X7 setup kicking around i might try on. besides what is on there seems to get me to a beer and back to my bed so guess it is ok! Anyone else using something similar for a similar purpose?
  6. It Certainly will be Bucky. When i first started riding Downhill competitively there was a few lads who were riding hardtails and they did very well. That said there are also people now riding on single speed set ups and also doing very well.

    Tool Set

I still have the one that came with my T-raptor in 2004! only things i have added is a Parktool Crank puller which i got for a fiver, a external BB tool and a headset press. So i guess that one will be fine!
  8. Thanks for starting the individual topic for me Tom! Ill edit it in to more of a progress build now, Thanks again! So this started back when i used to ride quite a lot at porc before i moved onto trials, I rode a lot of 4X mainly because i could not afford to ride anything else. That is where i first caught a eye full of one of these, I wanted one, i would have done anything to get one but at the time it just was not possible at all. however at earlier this year after browsing through some sites i found one for sale, after a little bit of "look how nice this is" and some further "i wish" i came to the realisation that it wasnt the best move for me to buy it! Then a week later my mother presented me with a box which contained this... Well done mum! i wasnt expecting this at all so i had no parts on the way for it so i had to dig out what i did have and order what i didnt. Out of the parts i did have was a Boxxer Frankenfork Combo. I was set on some dorados but nothing which suited my needs came up, plus i have worked with these before and know them well. These are going to have the TF tuning mod done to these but not by TF tuning to save some money! This is still yet to be done. I also changed the drop crown for the Flats but am considering going back to the drop. The above combined with a set of mank old bars and stem was all i had. So i had to get buying! Many of the parts i bought new or sourced off of friends but the odd part here and there was bought as a spares or repairs item and then fixed, i will show this lot a little later on. So here is what i currently have sat in the work shop waiting to be finished. forks look odd in the photo, but i think its the crown which i will be changing as said earlier. I am waiting on my chain device to turn up and then i can get the drive train in there. I have got a set of brakes ready to go on here although i am having a few issues. A month or so ago i bought new mounts and had a few spare sets of brakes which i put together and stashed away. Now the old brakes had goodridge lines and the mounts are with them but i can not find them anywhere for toffee! so i can get my brakes set up because i am missing all of the vital parts. Not cool! So i will update this thread as the work is done!
  9. Oh my, I remember him very well from on here and other places as a very nice helpfull fellow rider. Having recently lost a friend to the exact same thing earlier this year i can only wish all the best to his close friends, family nd of course his wife. Rest in Peace my friend.
  10. I had 12mm tunnels. But then realised they were gay. Now I have normal lobes which do not resemble a cats anus. Guess I got lucky
  11. I think i might remember that actually! Its strange when i think of my hopes 6 years ago, how they have drastically changed and somehow come back on track to what i wanted all that time ago. I think keeping it simple is the best way to go. I hope to be secure doing something that i enjoy... Idealy in a Bently full of bitches
  12. Its been a while since i posted in here, Since Feb 2010 it seems! Anyway back then i had this.. Great bike but i was made a offer i could not reffuse so it went! I was with no bike for a while and then after a little scout through ebay i came across something i have been after for years! Ever since they came out i wanted one, but being about 14 at the time it was impossible! With a upside down photo! Got most of the parts to have it built up now but its been much more of a "on the side bike"

  14. boregore is f**king great! His money video is also great Im a mother f**king player with no money in the bank
  15. I think JT might have meant the money you have raised on the ride from one destination to the other would be won and the winner gets to keep half (thats what i thought for a breif second anyway). But your above post seems to hve cleared all of that up
  16. i was recently woundering this. I thought it was just something which everyone had just grown out of. Like the old D521 Mavics on every trials bike many moons ago. i remeber feeling like the main man when i got a ceramic one haha how times change

    Ideal First Cars

Hondas are very exspensive. My eg cost just short of 3 grand and my pals CRX SIR cost him just over 3k, IRRC I read you were from Norway or something? Sorry if you are not but in the uk all of the rude boys drive hondas and they are the first stepping stone into jdm cars I payed just over £1000 for my 2002 1.0 12v corsa. You need to go for something small, very small. So I find it better to go for newer cars as the old ones have all been used by new drivers 1.2 clios are rather good. Old 998 minis. Saxos and 106's are over priced. The base models are shit, so the vtr, westcoast and quicksilver are the ones worth having and work out from £1300 up to £1700. Low engined fiestas. You know the usual stuff
  21. I am guessing that was on a BA? What uni was you at? I have just finished my 3D design course and am starting my BA in architecture in September
  22. I swear i posted this colour code on this forum a couple of weeks back? Anyway second time around, your model and year of car is 20R or 2HU. I did a 2004 Astra SRi in 2HU if thats any help to you. Search your engine bay and door shuts, also the owners book, as it may be in there. But if you go to a proper paint mixer you will be able to hold the colour samples up to the car to get the right match. Why do you want out of intrest, If its scratch related i might have another option for you
