Haha can't deny that. Yeah man, bought a second hand box which is now fitted. My four week tantrum is over now so I'm ready to get it going again. I'm now also on the hunt for another spoiler as I don't like the replacement I got last year. And a roof scoop.

That's cool, didn't want a comment anyway. #needy

Update copied and pasted. In summary - going back to servo assisted brakes but with abs delete from a cup. Problem is my pedal box needed to be hydraulic clutch and they are 95% cable clutch on clio mk2's. So the pedal box I was picking up from the v6 failed me, the guy who worked at the breakers told me that despite me asking 3 times if the part was available and it was... turns out it was broken. What a dick. I called back Renparts and asked them for the one they said they had from a dci100, they ring me 10 mins later to tell me that it was broken too. Started pulling my hair out a bit but luckily I had found something that looked like it would fit... it's from a kangoo but all the other kangoos seemed to be cable clutch apart from this MPV one I found. There was no other information on the internet to suggest it would fit but I found it for £20 delivered so was worth a punt either way. 2 days later it arrived.. 20170916_140205 by dann2707, on Flickr Trial fitted it and it does Ignore the accelerator pedal, that will be being replaced with the ph1 172 one when I find out how it bolts to the assembly. 20170916_141344 by dann2707, on Flickr 20170916_142246 by dann2707, on Flickr So with the new peugeot 406 v6 master cylinder fitted I wanted to see how close the de-cat is going to be to it. Absolutely no chance it would fit. 20170916_143727 by dann2707, on Flickr 20170916_143834 by dann2707, on Flickr Left it that evening to go for some day drinking with the gf. Ended up at a nice burger place, had mac and cheese as a side which was epic. 20170916_212706 by dann2707, on Flickr Anyway, the next day, today I started with the custom brake lines to the master cylinder. Due to the ports being on the one side now, I had to create some new brake lines to suit. Using 2 m10 splitters to brake them up into 4 brake lines. Also removed the engine to do this, did it in under 15 mins as nothing was connected really. I originally tried it like this but quickly discovered it wasn't that neat and very hard to get to. 20170917_140025 by dann2707, on Flickr I went for a different approach, I mounted the splitter to the side of the car. 20170917_160901 by dann2707, on Flickr Then did something similar for the other lines 20170917_165226 by dann2707, on Flickr Connected that up: 20170917_173752 by dann2707, on Flickr 20170917_173756 by dann2707, on Flickr 20170917_181633 by dann2707, on Flickr Nice and neat and out of the way, really quite happy with my progress today as i've been feeling a bit hungover but got it all sorted pretty much. I'm now going to get some motorbike reservoir bottles for the clutch and two ports to the master cylinder and hide them away under the scuttle panel like before. Then fingers crossed i'll have my servo assisted brakes again which will make me happy. To get around the downpipe issue i'm going to get my mate who's making the exhaust to avoid the master cylinder when shaping the downpipe. I guess i'm mainly waiting on that to be sorted before being able to drive it. I need a few more things: New oil pressure/temp gauge as my temp doesn't work £80 Clutch pipe £30 Nimbus heat shield £20? O/S gearbox seal £20 Gearbox oil £25 3 x reservoir bottles £15 and pipework £not a lot. Then i'm thinking of going down the route of a return rail for the fuel line: 3.5 regulator £55 Pipe £20 ph1 Return sender £25 NPT fitting for fuel rail £7 Tap £5

Aww 10am , 2012 Dan you f**king pussy. Could tell I was a student.
-
Me? You've got the wrong person mate.

I don't suppose anyone knows a place that could extend these splines for me? I essentially want the driveshaft shorter by 15mm and do not want to have to get new ones made up. Reckon it would be a hard job?

Yeah, 3 episodes isn't enough. I was the same with breaking bad, got to the second series and had to stop as I couldn't stand Jesse's whining. So glad I battled through though.

Not sure but for the sake of one bolt and a slide connector it's not worth risking.
-
Remember to disconnect your battery and ecu if you do start

I missed out on one for £65 the other day but they're usually around £250 which I can't justify spending the dollar on

I've finished my tantrum with the car. Going to get the gearbox rebuilt with a quaife diff. But I have said that it'll be next year. Going to take the car off the road this year as I can't justify spending anymore money on it this year. £774 for the diff and £200 for fitting, or around that.

I'm thinking the same thing mate yeah. It's on the opposite side to where it was bottoming out but yet I drove c. 300 miles with it all fixed and no issue until now unless it's weakened it. Maybe there still isn't enough play on that side despite me moving the engine over.

I'm literally so close to tears it's unreal haha.

Car is f**ked. Gearbox is f**ked. f**king f**k

I did 80 miles to half a tank the other day driving up to the mappers with the wastegate disconnected oops.

Well, another day another spending money on stuff I tell myself I need... First i'll start with some maintenance. It turns out my wishbone is catching the gearbox a bit due to how low the car is at. The wishbone angle is absolutely awful so I attempted to raise the suspension but the platforms were seized solid. So after muchos swearing and some plus gas I finally freed them, disassembled them and greased them all up. Then used some tights from the other halfs cupboard to protect them for a bit. Hopefully they last but most likely i'll order some proper covers. For now they'll do. Check the wishbone angle at my current ride height 20170705_190740 by dann2707, on Flickr 20170705_190724 by dann2707, on Flickr And the offending coilovers. Pure top mounts holding out well to salt... 20170705_193654 by dann2707, on Flickr All greased and covered 20170707_183919 by dann2707, on Flickr 20170708_141822 by dann2707, on Flickr Raised 20mm up from which should hopefully sort out the catching. Ordered an oil temp and pressure gauge in one from Racetech. And the sandwich plate and everything else to go with it. I am tempted to make a guide with all the parts required as theres not much info available for this so for me to create a definitive guide would really help others out I reckon. Parts 20170707_134853 by dann2707, on Flickr Oil temp sender is mech, fitting into a 3/8 fitting however its not moving the dial when in hot water. Weird 20170708_143847 by dann2707, on Flickr Sandwich plate all installed. Just waiting on an m20 x 1.5 extension bolt so i can re-install my sandwich plate for the cooler. 20170708_165227 by dann2707, on Flickr I then routed the cables and wanted it as neat as possible through a grommet to stop fretting and then through the original tweeter cover. It's already bugging me that the grommet is of sub quality and you can see the frayed manufacturing marks on it here haha 20170708_153509 by dann2707, on Flickr All in position though, absolutely love where it is as it's out of the way and perfect for a quick glance now and again to check everything is good. 20170708_153500_HDR by dann2707, on Flickr 20170708_153503_HDR by dann2707, on Flickr

Great. I can't wait for a loose description of another three shitters you've bought with the money from that.

It's deffo being restricted though somewhere as the power curve goes up steadily then just flat lines. Should have a pic. One sec

It went well in terms of it didn't blow up or give many issues, the downside is it only made 256bhp but a decent 300ftlb of torque. It feels absolutely epic to drive but obviously there's something niggling away at the back of my mind knowing that I'm 40bhp down, which is a shame as I got a bigger turbo, injectors etc. We believe it's down the exhaust as it's a mismatch of exhaust bits as it goes from a 3" decat out of the exhaust to a 2.25" link pipe then to a 2.5" system however someone's mentioned that silencers are not always the same size inside and I've got three of them(1 in centre and two back boxes). At the moment I'm happy as it's fast but obviously there's more to come. I just want to enjoy it for what it is now for a bit. I've spent all year tinkering I just want to drive it

Whippets are well ugly. Wouldn't own one for that alone.
