French Cars

Well then, as above really!

Thought i'd start off with my first attempt at car maintanance, when i bought the car it had a mystery clonk that was thought to be the right hand engine mount buffer. Went to Peugeot, ordered the part and 2 months later it finally appeared!

Out with the old... (which was fooked!)

Little bit of tinkering and viola!

Here she is in all her glory with no more clonks!

Only problem with fixing one thing is that you then notice another problem, think the release bearing is on its way out now >_<

Ah wicked you got a Rallye, I f*cking love them!

Are you on the 106 Rallye Register Forum? I had a deposit down on a black S1, but funds fell through, I was gutted! I still pop on there every so often to see what's what!

Looks tasty indeed! My supposedly cured clonk has returned. Think it has reduced but that might be some sort of placebo effect. Thinking new engine mounts might be needed, if i do though they're going to be replaced with group N ones

And how is it Oli that you find your way into every car thread? :P

Why not!

And i do have reason to be here, got a pug 205 rotting away in the garden that i road rallied last year!

Think that came out a wee bit wrong, what i meant was that pretty much every car thread you've got a contribution or an answer. wish i knew that much! I tell you, changing an engine mount was challenge enough for me! :-

What 205 is it? Theres one near me thats caged and slagged, looks ace! I've got a friend thats fallen in love with Pugs after being out in the Rallye. He was trying to find a cheapo 205 so that he could dump the 1.9 Gti engine in it once hes got a years no claims or so. He fallen for AX's now lol

nah thats not the spirit !

hes right though :P

looking good freddy........

now you can be half as comfortable as me in the audi, or oli in his golf, and might lap a track within 5 seconds of the minis!

:P

only joking matey, sounds damn fun!

itll be interesting to pitch it against the minis for sure, with yours and mine both on target for exactly 200bhp/ton, and olis pushing a little bit more!

the french cant make cars that work/last for shit, but they sure make fun ones :)

Can't believe you made this thread.

It'll die on its feet. :P

I would get proper pictures of mine, but its not worth it. :P

I reckon Fred and I alone can keep it going lol Wish my insurance would hurry up and come around for renewal so i can start with the toys, ho hum. Least I can get everything else up to scratch in preparation.

I'm bored of reliabilty, its all about the fun factor :D I drove dads car today because the Rallye was minus an engine bracket. Can honestly say its lost most of its appeal! I used to love flinging that thing around (A4 3.2 quattro s line) Took me ges to get used to the power steering as well, my god i must have looked like the most irratic driver ever lol
