i like it, but i wish they would just release the whole video, they've already made it.

the whole voting thing.. they've already made the video so give the choices that are going to favor what he has already done.

like if they say, what should danny do across the next gap? backflip with a mctwist, or get off and walk round... duh. if we got shed loads of people to vote for the shite option they would be screwed!

plus you have to watch a massive intro and the 1st video again on the 2nd video etc.

apart from that little rant, as ever macaskills riding is immense! wish i was that good.. lol.

Nice filming, nice location, nice video for the masses.

I'm sorry, but was I the only one to find the riding in this was complete gash?!

He wasn't going big in anyway, other than his 360 whip 360 drop, I think there's a lot of riders that could do what he did in the video. It was very chilled compared to his other videos, but the location was great, very unique and nice to watch.

But still, I haven't seen any other rider do the back hop to another rail thing, or be as good at g-turns although they were a bit over used in that video.

The quality of riding shouldn't only be measured in size. how exactly was it "gash"?

It seemed relaxed in comparison to much of his other videos (bear in mind he probably had no control over the edit of this) but why is that a bad thing?

Also this is for Leica cameras - one of the best camera manufacturers out there, specialising in high quality goods. The main focus for them in this video is to promote that, and through the shooting and production of the video i think they've done a pretty awesome job. It was beautiful to watch, and for Leica's customers i don't tihnk they'll be scrutinising over how tucked his 360's were.

Maybe "gash" was a little harsh, but I don't measure riding just in size. it just seems that since the way back home video there has not been any new decent footage? Or have I just missed it?

I understand he may not have any control over what went on in the vid, which is a shame really. Just seems to be less of a focus on riding, and maybe more on £££££££ (just an opinion, please don't take it the wrong way). I suppose when your in his shoes, its quite hard not to go down that route.

Anyway, I'm sure he's enjoying himself doing what he's doing :)

Don't forget the gap between Way Back Home and his previous 'decent' footage was 18 months. This stuff is for sponsors and employers, so it's less about what he wants.

The video isn't for us as trials riders? I don't get how people are failing to understand this. It's not showcasing how good he is, or any new moves he's learn. It's a video to sell Leica cameras, a video that's shot exceptionally well. Of course the focus isn't on the riding (in terms of how a fellow rider would judge a video) the focus is on selling cameras.

Also, cummon. Way Back Home was enough 'decent footage' to last a lifetime. he dedicated a summer of riding and a winter of planning to make that. You can't just knock out videos like that every month. Don't get me wrong i could watch him ride everyday i just really fail to see the point you're making.

He now has the luxury of riding for a living, so that is going to involve commercial endevours (such as this video) and f**k, if that's how he's chosen to make a living then i don't exactly blame him - it's not a bad way to live. He can't sustain a living just riding for ridings sake. Boy goin'ta have to shift some products....

I'm not failing to understand anything :)

I watched that video purely from a trials point of view. I like trials, I come on trials-forum for reasons to do with trials. I see a thread titled "danny macaskill" and I am intrigued to see if the video contains any decent riding (any of danny macs older videos from when he was on 26" ladder bikes is a good benchmark for decent). I am disapointed with the content, and I voice an opinion. Sorry.

If I was to view the video, purely from a filming/editing/advertisment point of view, I would agree with you. Its a well put together piece of work that showcases Leica's ability to manufacture brillant cameras.

Way back home was amazing, and I appreactiate the effort that was put in to making it but footage like that is NEVER ENOUGH!!! :turned: I wouldn't expect him to churn out videos like that every month, maybe just short clips to show how is riding is progressing.

I don't blame him for living the dream either, I think nearly all of us would be more than happy to be doing what he is doing.

That's the point... it's NOT a trials video. It's a clever marketing campaign, using Danny in the same way Loreal use female celebrities to sell their products. As such, they probably don't need to get uber tech. There's no point watching it from a trials point of view because that's not what it is, it's a bit of fun with an aim to make a company more money and boost it's profile.

Why would he churn out regular videos? He now has a benchmark to maintain - he has to make sure he does everything in his power to make each video bigger and better than the last. He's not Kieron Morrison, and that's a good thing.

Part 3 added to original post

Option at the end of this part seems a little 'lame' to me (to use an American word) but love this video, really makes me want to ride.

Yeh what a weird set of choices those skid 360 things he was doing were cool, was it me or was the last song abit like Rebecca Black's Friday?
