Now i'm back on DnB and sad stuff. So i would like some recommendations for sad music. Doesn't have to be moving or dramatic, and probably better if it wasn't. String instruments like harps are pretty awesome, along with violins. Classical, instrumental, new age/ vocal (though no shitty story vocals), & electronic. Perhaps not the best option then but you should check it out, none the less. I do find that sadness is often moving though? They seem to be friends...? Danny00135 Posted March 15, 2013 Report Share Posted March 15, 2013 Not sure what you mean by "sad" quite broad modern wise, Ludovico Einaudi has some really emotional pieces, But take a look at some Debussy pieces, I recently performed la plus que lente as a saxophone arrangement, a lot of diatonic harmonies and syncopated rhythms make it an incredibly emotional piece. Interesting to see what people offered. Also how people perceived different songs to be sad. Ben and others, yeah it's very broad. I don't think sad and moving have to go together, but they do go together. Obviously your mood and whether a film or action is tied in with the sounds, just like smells, will play a significant part. Don't fancy quoting everyone, soo... Skrillex-Leaving That's the first Skrillex tune i've heard (unless i've heard one in a mix or radio etc without knowing) and i was impressed until he decided to use a sampled male vocal. Totally spoiled that tune for me. The rest of the stuff i listened to and wasn't overly keen sorry. modern wise, Ludovico Einaudi has some really emotional pieces This was a really interesting and enjoyable piece.
