I just saw the advert, are they for real offering a carrera zelos was £600 now half price at £300

How is it a road bike weighing 11.7kg/26lbs

With 7 x 2 gears cost £600 new.

For £600 you get 2x10 gears carbon forks and a bike weighing 23lbs ish

Dude we don't make the bikes, we just sell them.
£600 was RRP, and as you clearly stated, it was over priced hence the reason it's now half price.

A lot of carrera bikes and Apollo bikes and x rated bikes all halfords own brand bikes are over priced. Just so they can put them down with a big discount label to tempt customes into buying them and thinking they got a good deal.

Halfords and plenty of other big retailers have been doing this for years, basically they put the price of an item up for nearly double what the rrp would really be, for the minium amount of time required by law. Then they drop the price to 1/2 that price claiming it's some amazing deal when in fact it's likely no more than 10% off what it would really cost.

It's the same with sofa's etc etc, unbelievably though is the amount of muggs that fall for this and the fact it isn't against the law

Some really dodgy "scams" going on. Like the whole, buying plane tickets where companies track your cookies and put the prices up absolutely LOADS when you decide to come back to them.

Make sure you're deleting your cookies, as the more you look (it sounds like this is a lot) the higher the prices will creep. As the b*astarding holiday companies know you're looking on their website for certain flights/holidays.

Also everyone raves about this secret escapes website, think they tend to do 5 star hotels and that kinda jazz, but worth a look.

Jake we just went on "cheap flights" typed into google and went on all the price comparison websites. We got it for £110 each But that was to Spain.

CRC have some pretty 'interesting' RRPs listed on some of their 'sale' items too. Seems to be working for them though, I suppose.
