your opinions are your own as regards the car and what i do to it but unless youv got anything decent to say or anything better then jus keep hush

And of course when you put this 2.0l lump in your car, your getting bigger front discs and a rear disc conversion ye? And a new gearbox? Torsion bars etc to stop the engine ripping the chassis apart? And everything else you will need for that conversion?

Just sounds stupid to me. A car with a engine coversion is frowned upon by the DVLA and will cost you more on insurance than a actual 2.0l car.

Fred's excuse is wanting to be a rude boi with minimal effort...

Fred: I dont care if you were not the one that keved up the car, you still bought it and drive round in it! ;)

At least the corsa mods are fairly subtle... well, other than a big exhaust on a 1.0 which is pushing it, they sound so god-damn awful ;)

it's not as bad as the litrally hundreds of old crap corsas and 206's and fiats i see running up and down the sea front all evening with their huge plastic skirts and stuff.

Personally I drive a standard yaris 1.0 letre, it's slow and crap, but it has air conditioning, sat nav, good suspension, polen filter (woop!), and comfortable seats, and it gets me from a to b... Will do untill I can afford something actually decent, most likely in about 7 years time ... *sigh*

What is it about sea fronts that attract these tits?

Southport near me is a seaside place, and its FULL of them. 1.0/1.1/1.2 corsas/puntos/206s all covered in plastic crap/fat exhausts/shit sony stereos.

Whats the deal?

Although last night i was at maccys there and saw a guy with a P reg MINT imperial blue 360bhp cossie ;) Lets just say it put everything to shame. And guess what, the exterior was standard............

Yeah, southend seems to have an abundance of boiracers, something about the sea front culture just attracts them, people moan about chav cars but nowhere i've been in the UK have I ever seen any where near as many as here, i wait outside the gym on the sea front 4 nights a week late evening and litrally 3/4 cars that pass are chav-mobiles, probs about 10 a minuite pass me, and 99% of them are utter shite.

I don't mind high power / perfomance cars, infact I love them, it's all this external modding crap, without any performance that is a joke lol :D

A while back a BMW M6 came down the sea front real late, you could hear it from about half a mile away, no exterior mods at all, other than tinted windows and decent racing wheels, but it had a custom engine, at a guess something like a 6 letre, he pulled around the roundabout, stopped and then dragged down the straight (there is a perfectly straight, always empty road that leads away from the sea front about 1 mile long)... i've never seen a car get so fast, about half way down the strip he fired nitro ;) and was blowing flames about 3 foot out the exhausts... utterly crazy performance. Now that is a cool car :P :D

I was mildy amused the other day when a business man in a suit on his mobile phone driving a standard new audi A4 sport calmly and silently overtook on the inside some boyracer in a 1.2 corsa full of mates who was ragging it away from the roundabout as fast as he could with his massive exhaust blasting out some apauling sound you could hear half a mile back, after rocking the car around all over the place with a screaching sound trying to get around the roundabout at speed. :P

We always have novas flying down the prom in Blackpool, and the odd skyline that does 203mph!!!

i dont see the point in just getting a 1.1 and trying to "kit it" with shite. \might aswell buy a 2.0l and max out the engine, then you'll have a nice car. I'm going to leave the exterior till last me thinks

Those Audi A4's are super quick. Supposed to be able to beat a standard evo anyway

Yeah, totally agree. Think of all the costs. There is the Corsa in the first place and the wheels and all the plastic and 'ICE'. Then you see them in the back of Max Power (wasn't my copy...) for sale for about 6k. All the mods do is advertise the fact that the car's been ragged and probably driven round and round and round the local town centre in first/second gear only.

Not trying to spoil your fun (or your thread) but if you want to do things like swap engines about you'd be better off getting something that's easier to work with and is older. I bought an Escort Mk4 van with RS bumpers, RST alloys, XR3i front interior, tinted windows and an engine that had been rebuilt 50k ago with:

Rebore and new pistons

Piper race cam

New valves/springs

Gas flowed head

The best bit? The 75 pound price tag. Why? Because the chassis was rotten to bits (it really was falling apart), even though it came with a folder crammed with receipts that all matched up. When I stripped the engine apart it was mint inside, as the car had sat for two years and hardly been run. Currently it's waiting for new valve guides and head skimming and then it's going to go back together with twin 40mm Weber DCNF's (80 quid with manifold s/h).

Add that lot up and you can build an engine for peanuts. When my mate did a similar rebuild he didn't have access to a workshop so he did all the work in the boot (it was an estate)! Next I want a 3dr Mk4 Escort shell to put it in and some OZ's (16 is more than big enough...) with a stripped interior, new sus etc.

At the end, the cost will probably not have gone over 3k, and bear in mind it'll have been built from the ground up.

Still, I reckon there's far more fun to be had from a Mk1...

not all sony stuff is bad. i have the 1200watt 12" sub and d-series 1100watt xplod amp and they are both great!

Stop being so stuck up about him putting alloys on his car, its not the end of the world.

Thats what it's all about. My punto was expensive yeah, but its top of the range 'dynamic' with alloys and air con, it looks all right, and i'm leaving it totally standard. That way i'm not going to be SPENDING money DEVALUEING the car by attatching snow ploughs and shit to it. It does 0-60 in 13.9 seconds for f**ks sake, when is it going to need a spoiler?

I will sell my punto for ~£3,000 when i'm 22 and buy an Evo or something.

The Audi A4's are fast, but I doubt they are as fast as an evo? Anyone know the figures? Off the top of my head I think the evo VIII's go 0-60:

standard 240(or 260 cant remember)bhp - 5.8

through to the fastest

FQ340 (340bhp) - 4.9

What's an A4 like?

LOL, ;) , just kidding, everyone has to start somewhere, nothing wrong with alloys and suspension!
exhausts, induction kits, neons and graphics is the kev style shit and pointless imo, just keep alloys and scrap the tin can and filter off and avoid being labelled as a max flower neon pimp daddy boy racer!

just drive safe and enjoy life, thats all that matters after all! :D

erm i think the evo 8 mr does 0-60 in 3.5 which is very mental. i think the guy may be going on about the rs4 with the v8 in it etc but it cant whoop an evo it just goes very fast!woooo

myself i love all cossies and old golf mk1s and 2's and also of course minis!

we get alot of cossie stuff in at work weve got an escort cosworth at the moment which was havin problems and it turned out the guy has cracked his block and he didnt have the engine rebuilt too long ago. ;) poor guy gonna cost alot!

we mainly do all the head conversions like gas flowing and skimming bigger valves blah blah all that stuff and boring out blocks skimming them etc.

some nice cars. haha put all the cars in our town to shame like a cream rover 25 1.0l with blue neons and blavk tints and a fooked exhaust!lmao

Thats well shit lol. There is a Citroen Ax with al this shite and a 5" exhaust to match. Why not save the monety you waste on these "performance" parts and put it towards a decent car in a few years time? ;)

Standard a4 quattro is 7.5s i think. My gear changes suck so i'm probably wasting it anyway lol still 3.0 v6ness is great for chav beating :D" The S4 is something like 5.5 i think, the new one is a 4.7 litre v8 twin turbo ;) Can't beat a decent saloon over a corsa any day lol Back up at Uni there are two rally specced imprezas, they make our house shake when they drive past. seriously nice cars!

My mate has an a3 (joys of company cars!) very nice. And I didn't realise that the sound system was so good! Standard bose set-up the sound was crystal clear and subwoofer was very active (for all the right bits)

:P Yeah my spelling sucks!

It was around £9,000 brand new from the showroom, can't remember exactly we got it about 2 years ago now.

And I doubt we'll be selling it for quite a while ;)

Sorry to kill your dream but the Bose car sound systems are hoop lol

Well of course they are better than "standard" systems, but for the price they cost you could get a WAAAAAAAAAAAY better custom system.

Audi is defo the new BMW
