    • It seems the Inspired Hex street trials bike has something like 73 cm effective stack (bottom bracket to hand position), and 48 cm effective reach. You could ask the shop to verify these numbers if you choose to buy a new stem + handlebar. And 26 street trials bikes got a 22:18 gear ratio. You want one finger on the brake levers. First goals are trackstand, balancing by moving the front and rear wheel, then learning how to pull the front wheel up smoothly (no head shake), which will open up manuals, pedal ups and bunny hops. You can try back hops, endo 180, 180 while learning that. These should cover the first few years.
    • Haha, I bet that would build up ok with the right parts on.  Looks like it would get you down the beach ok!
    • I picked up this frame years ago and just built it up. It’s stamped with SPEEDRACE but doesn’t have a model name. Based on my last post it’s pre-2010’s.  It didn’t come with a fork so I’m not sure what is correct for it. This fork is from a Velo Orange Piolet bikepacking frame, 400 ATC and 52 rake. I have a fork from a polo bike that has 380 ATC and ~35 rake, would that be better?  Set up with just what I had around in the parts bin. Mtb flat bar was too low, BMX bar is too high. Any suggestions? Never ridden a trials bike before.  Gearing is 28t chainring and 22t+18t rear, BB7 brakes, Holy Roller 2.4 tires.
    • Before he was shot I only saw him on Youtube being quite outspoken and aggressive/condescending while debating his political position with academics, students etc. which showed him to be an educated and seemingly quite intelligent complete arsehole. Agree with everyone that being assassinated is terrible for his family and unfortunately the biggest problem I see is that it makes him a martyr for the scum that he supported. Literally anyone who is pro-Trump seems to be stupid, racist, short sighted and basically fucking dangerous. The utter retardedness of Trump's whole persona and presidency is so completely ridiculous satirists will be losing their jobs as you simply couldn't make up the dumb shit he does and says every single day. Being a 'genuinely nice human' would suggest someone who is in some way trying to improve things for ordinary people in a selfless way, something that simply cannot be said for anyone who is anti-gay, anti-trans, anti-abortion, pro-white supremacist, anti-immunisation, pro-Trump etc. etc. It feels like he was distressingly good at pushing his twisted, fucked up politics to a large portion of young, impressionable (stupid) Americans. While we're here I'm livid that the orange cunt is in the UK again.  In other news, I only noticed today at work that the Silverhook Big Boy filler logo looks a lot like Trump, if a bit less orange...
    • I agree a beginner bike is just about budget and preference since you control it fully from the start. Expensive bikes can be worth it if you’re committed and have the funds. Starting on a simple bike can build technique, but it’s not necessary unless you’re very young and aiming to be the best.
