Lookin' nice! Are those 175mm cranks? - I got 170mm ones by mistake. Don't suppose it makes much difference.
-
Yep Fatties - Got them 2nd hand with my old Pure. I've got some newish Urbans but I've already cut them too short Yeah I like yours (it's the black/charcoal one?) - I've not had mine long either but already love it, seems like perfect geo for me.
-
Lol - I don't have a clue who they are

My new Simtra ST1 had it a couple of weeks now - best frame I've ridden. Hope the pics work! (Sorry for poor quality) I'm probably gonna swap the red bits for blue bits and get some new forks.

Looks really nice! I'll post pics of mine when I can.

Yeah I've got some pictures, I'll post in 'bike pictures' or 'riding pictures' when I can figure out how to upload pics.

Hi. Just thought I'd add that I've built up my Simtra ST1 and I have to say it's the best frame I've ever ridden. It just feels more stable and alows me to get more power in for doing gaps n' stuff. It doesn't give me back ache like the Pure 07 either. If anyone is considering a new frame I'd strongly recommend one. The only downside is that the blue paint is easy to scratch and shows the scratches more than a silver frame, but it does look nice - hell it's a trials frame it's bound to get scratched!

On the other hand (and this is just my opinion) fear is there for a reason, to keep you safe. There's plenty of stuff to try that is very challenging although not that scary (getting up stuff rather than going off stuff). I find as my skill increases, so does my confidence. That's not much help though

I've had an 07 Pro II for over a year with no problems. It did skip once when it was brand new and hasn't skipped once since (like I said, in over a year). I have a lot of faith in it - I've just bought another for my next wheel (current wheel needs new rim).

Shepshed Rocks - Weekend 15th Or 16th?

Cool - My mobile number is above. I'm just building up my new bike, not sure what time I'll be able to get there - as early as I can once I've got it working. Hope to see you there! -
Shepshed Rocks - Weekend 15th Or 16th?
Rebelistic replied to Rebelistic's topic in Member Organised Rides
I'm not a great rider but I'm enjoying quite hard stuff to try and improve my fitness to hopefully be able to do comps. I forget the name of the place but the ones I'm on about are in some public woods on a side road just off the A512. There's a hill in the middle of the woods with rocks all around the base and on top - It seems to be the highest point for a few miles around. The rocks around the base of the hill are very challenging and can be quite slippy, it's got to be good for technique! My moble no. is 07956038389 - I'm up for sat or sun, hope the weathers ok! Sorry :$ I don't know what to suggest then.

Maybe the cones (think thats what they're called) are loose? - Kind of like bolts that hold the hub together. You may need a cone spanner to tighten them.

Leicester uni rocks - security always turn up within 5 mins

Couldn't you just say you don't like either? I drink a lot of tea and coffee. Like earl grey and most tea, nice coffee - try to get fair trade mostly. I was given tea in my bottle when I was a baby so that probably explains it. I should probably have less caffine, but I like it.

Hi guys, Anyone up for a ride at Shepshed rocks? I had a quick session there the other day, thought it was really good. Cheers, John

Don't say that - I'm 25 next month! Jakie Chan is in his fifties and still doing stunts. Hmm - I bet he'd be good at trials.

My bike is heavy at the moment (04 pure with not too light parts). I think the weight does make a difference, but you tend to get used to what you have. To weigh my bike I would weigh myself, then weigh myself holding my bike and subtract my weight.

LOL I ride for lots os reasons:As someone said it's a good way to take your mind of stress/work etc. Good way to keep fit. A fun form of mountain biking that can be done near home. It's the kind of sport/hobbie I like that combines fitness with skill and adventure.

Yeah I've tried messing with the settings - It says 4:3 and 16:9 but the 16:9 gives me 16:10! Although the spec on the comet site and the info in store says "16:9 format" when you get the TV and look in the spec in the manual is says "aspect ratio 16:10". They seem to be printing the wrong spec! Funny though, all of the 19 inch TVs in the comet store have a screen size of 16:10 - although most can be used as monitors, they are sold as TVs. I guess that would make sense for a PC monitor but not for a TV. My projector can be used as a PC monitor but it still has a 16:9 screen size. As it is for playing games and just to save me using my projector all the time, 19 inch is big enough and as I sit fairy close to the screen I can definitely see all of the resolution! Given that it is a TV, in my view the screen should be 16:9. To have 16:10 just seems mad to me. Cheers,

Hi there, Right I've just got a 19inch HD TV to play my playstation 3 on. The correct aspect ration is 16:9, however the TV is 16:10 giving a streatched image. I took the TV back to Comet explained the problem and had a look at the other TVs to pick a replacement. I found that all of the 19 inch TVs have a screen size of 16 by 10 inches. I asked a guy in there about this and he didn't really know so I tried another TV in the hope that when it was given an HDMI signal it would display the correct aspect ratio (perhaps with black bars top and bottom to remove the extra inch to make it 16:9 not 16:10). I have found it is exactly the same giving a 16:10 picture! I am very supprised that most TVs seem to be this way as the standard wide screen picture is 16:9, I would assume that TVs would be either 4:3 or 16:9, but 16:10 - who's crazy idea is that? I know it's not a massive amount but it is a noticable streathing of the picture and I'm used to my HD projector that displays the correct 16:9 picture. Does anyone know anything about this? Can you get 16:9 TVs? Cheers

Fattys (I think) 2nd hand, came with the frame. They seem shorter when compared with my echo urbans. I've just ordered the Simtra - should be nice. I've just got to build some wheels before it arrives!

I just built up my old 04 Pure yesterday, went for a ride - It's hard to tell what's better or worse or just different. Seems good for taps and gaps and anything rolling at speed. Not so good for side hops. It's a more comfortable riding position though (when on two wheels). I measured the BB height on it and found it's actually a drop of just less than 10mm! (I think that's down to the forks though). It's hard to compare the frames exactly as my old Pure has heavier pedals, bash and a mini seat (not a super light one). As the Simtra is on offer I'm very likley to buy one - the geo looks good, a tad longer and not such a high BB. Thanks for the replies! John

Nice bike! Looks good with those bars/stem. I've just built up my 04 Pure again with echo bars/stem. After seeing yours I'm thinking of maybe fitting riser bars rather than my flat echo bars. Do you do side hops on yours - That seems to be the weak spot on mine everything else feels pretty good.

I think he's 41 - That's not so old! Hope he makes a full recovery ASAP.
