    Ali's Getaway

I'd go so far as to say it's the total opposite of anything Instagram. This video is raw, not just a filter slapped over the top to make it look arty. I'm not entirely sure where the forced creativity comes into it, I think it's just something so different to anything we normally see on here. It had the potential to be a pile of shite but I think Ali picked the perfect song and got the whole feel bang on. When Ali played the song to me t'other day I actually wasn't particularly keen on it, it's kinda weird, but when hear it alongside the footage it's absolutely bang on the money. I like the fact that the riding itself wasn't really the focal point in the video, but when you watch it a couple more times you get a feel for how sick the riding is too, and that shit's not contrived, no 100 attempts to get a line here, I don't think Ali's bank account could have handled too much inconsistency. So it's really a great tribute to Ali's raw skills, dedication to riding and just pure awesomeness. Love it.
  3. Any recommendations for the best free software for doing this?
  4. I actually thought 13kgs WAS a light bike. Shows what I know. He would probably be shite on a lighter bike anyway, all that mass and power with a harsh riding style = schhhhnap!
  5. I'd pay £20, I've got loads out of this forum over the years and probably saved a fortune based on the advice I've received. Not to mention the enjoyment I'd had as well. Like has been said, if it's £5 then it's barely worth doing, even £10 seems a bit low. Especially as you aren't forcing this upon people, it's purely for people who want to give something back. I'm not particularly bothered what you get by doing this, it's just nice to be able to help. Plus, the way I read it, the idea is that there will be money in the TF fund to put back into the sport in whatever way you see fit? If so, excellent. In my opinion if you're willing to pay £10, you can probably stretch to £20. £20 is better.
  6. I'm pretty intrigued about the bunnyhop gap record, what are the specifics of it? I assume there is a set run up distance?
  7. Am I the only one who just puts it in the frame with the lower cup and bearings installed and then just smacks it against the bearings until its flush?
  8. Phew! *wipes brow* It definitely is a tricky one to call though 'cause obviously the competition has a heavy emphasis on the quality of the overall video editing and . So, if you film yourself and it ends up looking dull, stale and lifeless then you can't really expect to win. I guess in someways the soloers have a little advantage in that they really have to step up their game to try and create something exciting enjoyable without the luxury of tracking shots, so they are probably more likely to explore the creativity element. I've only actually seen one video that I consider to be truly creative, the rest have sorta been riding videos really... Albeit decent ones... Mostly.
  9. If it wasn't for all the awesome dudes I get to pedal with I wouldn't ride anymore. I'd still ride bikes, but not trials. Oh yeah, and it IS ok for people to dress like hipsters, they get their kicks out of looking like bell ends but they're just emulating something they saw someone else doing and thought was cool. In the same way you started trials. I'd put money on the fact you saw someone riding a trials bike once and thought 'that's cool, I want to do that'
  10. Just buy a normal a bmx style helmet so that you're getting all the safety you need and then get your equine steez on with one of these bad boys... http://www.robinsonsequestrian.com/riding-apparel/safety/3-coloured-star-hat-cover.html They're designed to go over riding hats so they'll fit snugly over a bmx style lid.
  11. I came on here to drop the magic tractor one but got beaten by Tom! What does the ocean say to the sand? Nothing, it just waves
  12. Well, I thought it was probably worth a gamble so I took the plunge and ordered two 4gb sticks on Tuesday morning, they arrived today, really well packed with clear instructions.. Not that you really need them, it's such a simple task. But either way, my laptop is now absolutely flying and so far not a single glitch whatsoever. Fingers crossed it stays that way, but for now I'll go so far as to say I definitely recommend the company!
  13. I'm so glad you're in the sponsored category!!
  14. It just doesn't scream scam to me, besides the prices! They even have installation videos and a really neat little system scan that tells you how much ram you have installed, how many free slots (if any) you have and the maximum your system can take. Pretty cool set up, but yeah, I don't fancy just going in blind! Edit: Dirt cheap class 10's too! http://www.mrmemory.co.uk/Digital/SDHC.asp
  15. Hey guys, Has anyone had any experience with this website before? mrmemory.co.uk Everything seems legit but the prices seem super cheap so I'm a little bit dubious!!
  16. 700c manuals well. @50 seconds [media=]
  17. I was sort of playing devils advocate to be honest, it's impossible to be 100% 'fair', especially as fairness is subjective. I think the way you've done it is fine, using a bit of discretion is always a lot better than the black and white approach.
  18. Ahhh, it appears I was clutching the wrong end of the stick very firmly indeed I actually thought the whole reason for the divide was that it was a little unfair that someone who doesn't pay for their shit has the option of swiping prizes from someone who has to buy everything themselves. It is a competition though I guess, so fair do's!
