  1. To bed it in ride around with it dragging, down a hill or something to get it really hot then while its hot pour cold clean water all over the brake, repeat this about 3 times and you brake should be mint
  2. If your running a 2 bolt setup id get a v brake booster as that stops flex at the pivots, where as magura ones that hold the top of the brake still allow for some flex
  3. I wouldnt trust the internals on the funn, i bet it will just be a slow engaging 3pawl job. The dmr hub is meant to be pretty good from what ive heard
  4. Either a spank or a tioga dh rim. The spanks is abit wider and heavier but ive heard great cooments for both rims.
  5. Theyre both good hubs, but id go for the pro2, well i did go for the pro2 and i havnt regreted it so far

    Cranks

They cost 145 because theyre hand made in the USA, not just alu billet put in a cnc machine in taiwan. All the splines etc on profile are really precisely made so they are real stiff etc.
  7. Shin/ kneepads and helmet, although in summer sometimes i dont bother with pads
  8. i know if you leave an alu seatpost in a steel frame it can corrode together, but as far as bolts and pedal inserts go the only thing i can think of is grease or threadlock is normally used which would help prevent corrosion but i'm sure there's something more tech than that
  9. Id go for a pro2 trials if you have the money, thats what i use on my street/dirt bike and its mint, havin proper bolts makes so much difference to stiffness. Id certainly steer clear of shimano hubs, or any other hub with loose bearings. If yo cant afford hope go for one of dmr's hubs
  10. i use mine to much as i got into bad habbits when learning. Now i try to use it as little as possible as everythin looks smoother
  11. no, you need the adaptor as the v brake has to pivot in the middle of the 4 bolts
  12. an ashton should be alot nicer, hopefully your getting a red one
  13. If this is due to raw material prices etc, surely all taiwaniese bikes would have become more expensive. It sounds more like Onza or Moore Large are getting a bit greedy
  14. even if it does it will have gay cup + cone bearings like all shimanos that come loose as soon as you ride it. Also engagement isnt everything, id prefer a 48 engagement hub that never slips to a 72engement one i dont trust
  15. they are great frames, especially if your goin to be doing streety stuff, i prefer them to new style geometry loads, eventually the fashion will prob go back to old school frames again, hopefully anyway
  16. i do pretty much everything with half pedals, i think a hard gear helps as you can get a bit of momentum with the first 1/4 then really kick hard.
  17. Heatsink, blues, or snowys, I run blues on a really worn grind and they are mint, real good hold they havent worn down much and arnt overly loud. My mate just got some snowys and he is running them on a smooth rim and power is excellent so on any type of grind should be amazing, they also feel abit harder than blues so may last a bit longer, i'll certainly be trying some next. Id certainly go for something from the heatsink camp as i havnt heard a bad thing about them in years
  18. Double walls for that streety feel, shame they aint abit wider though
  19. thats the only prob with pro2's, its happened a few times, but hope should sort it
  20. more a question of how fast can you pedal really. Dunno bout mine, done 13 ft over a drive but that was on my street bike so dont really count
  21. just get a proper seat, they look better, are nice to sit on and its nice to have something to push against with your legs when balencing, especialy on streety moves, it can help protect your magura crossover too. Depends on the bike. ie a seat would look pretty bad on a zoo
  22. If you were run a cable set up there is a bmx part that allows to cables to be run off one lever for a gyro and this puts the cables on top of each other to give the same leverage. there is this http://www.winstanleysbmx.com/index.html?p...47&brandID= however i know there is a neater one out there somewhere but i cant find it. As for cable disks on the back my mate ran a bb7 and power was fine but it cracked on the mount like all do. A rear v would be fine though with the right bits
  23. by putting green bits on it will look like pretty much exactly like every other zoo ever built up, so dont

    The Pashley

nice to see someone else still keeps it real with old skool geo. Nice setup although i think some riser bars would ride nicer
