  1. Saddam's regime was very likely responsible for the deaths of thousands upon thousands of people. Just because no one kicked up a fuss doesnt mean it didnt happen.
  2. Nevermind saddam, he's definately a foregone conclusion, the real bet is on how long before his laywers turn up mysteriously dead....
  3. I like Joe, the one time I met him he had phenomenal sunburn
  4. The only problem there is the price, the cheapy ones are 175 ish quid and the one ads indicated is 310 quid
  5. Work has a porn drawer. I've heard it all now.
  6. On mine the crank has metal taken off the back edge to allow for the thickness of the extra bash. You simply couldnt get the crank all the way to the stop on the bb because of that, so it isnt damaging anything.
  7. That pretty much discredits anything he has to say on using King hubs for trials
  8. I dunno if its got anything to do with the lack of decent DB spokes for mods, but all the double disc stock wheels ive had have always behaved themselves under abuse. Sapims rule
  9. It is slang, all depends on your accent. I find it a lot easier to say gerrin than getting. I presume you have a southern accent so that may not be the case
  10. "Should've" and "should of" sound very similar in my accent, its just one of those things that gets mistaken once and perpetuated. To my mind, a lot of slang and bad wording of things comes when you're working hard under difficult conditions. Its rare that academics speak badly, but (for instance) engineers and mechanics with a similar level of education will swear, curse and generally abuse the language to get their point across.
  11. His point is very valid. Jefferies held fastest laps of the Island for several classes, had race wins stacking up all over the place and looked happy hammering bikes around. He risked everything, achieved a lot, and became somebody
  12. And the bloke flying backwards down the road was my friend gav, who hardly ever had a chain in one piece anyway
  13. possibly cos he's got a greater understanding than the people he's talking down to?
  14. You should roll upto the lights double de-clutching down the box for the sheer f**king hell of it
  15. The odyssey is a good cable. A rear BB7 is a good brake (I had a 203). Just be prepared for the complete lack of feel that (with mine at least) the two combined give. The brake works, but finding its bite point is a bit difficult. Apart from that, the flex in the avid adaptor is noticeable if you're being picky, but shouldnt be bad on a small disc size. Second what Bigman says about XTR levers, the click as the leverage adjuster moves about is very very irritating.
  16. The orange style is called an elevated stay (e-stay). Alpinestars and Nishiki used to make hardtain cross country bikes with e-stays, and a few cheapo bikes are still made like that.

Stick an annealed (soft condition) alloy tube in a die the shape you want. Then fill the tube with water and pressurise, it expands to fill the die. Its a godsend to designers who like curves
  18. For motorway cruising, saab 95. I've not been in many top end cars but its a lot more comfy than the big beemers. The griffin version goes like the clappers of hell too
  19. sounds like moaning to me
  20. Chernobyl was down to turbine engineers without a blind clue running the reactor. As it stands, nuclear is still the cleanest and lowest impact method of making 'leccy. Saying we should find better ways to generate is the wrong way to look at it, we should be using and wasting less energy in the first place.
  21. Nope, its hilarious. Wish I could schedule my stacks
  22. try that Mine came from an engineers suppliers up the road from me, but that looks to be the same thing.
  23. A helicoil kit. The one ive got has the 5.2 mil drill, has the special tap, has the tool and has a pile of inserts. That, a tap wrench and a drill is all you need.
  24. Even for monty, taking the inner cage off some VP 458a's and quadrupling the price is taking the piss somewhat
  25. Belive it or not, that happens quite a bit Virgin is a very bad name for a train company, as most of the locos seem to be f**ked...
