  1. Doesnt matter wether its second hand or fifth, everytime you disturb the caliper or the rotor it needs a bit of use to get it back to normal performance. Get up a bit of speed and do the hardest stop you can. Repeat untill its working nicely. Try not to drag the brake too hard or you will glaze the pads.
  2. Pretty safe assumption that its f**ked then, sounds like a broken pawl. You really arent going to be able to fix it, in my experience pulling them apart is difficult.
  3. Coke's acid, it'll make pretty patterns in the seals and generally take them from behind.
  4. Water that has been boiled or has been standing about for a while has no gaseous substances in it. The compressibility of any fluid is bugger all compared to how far the brake flexes, and how much the fluid expands when its heated. Wayne, if you think that because water contains air it will be compressible, consider that any oil based fluid also contains hydrogen as a minimum. You might be an authority on certain things, stop trying to do everyone down on any point you dont agree with.
  5. So you're saying he's more than a third of the way to being dead
  6. Looks bloody familiar. PM me or something nicky, you seem to have fallen off the face of the planet.
  7. Takes a dropout to know a dropout.
  8. Look at it this way, Iolo exists to give you a unique solution to your problems, rather than a mass produced semi-answer. Thats worth paying more for.
  9. All I can see is a bike that gets crashed lots. There's pushing the boundaries, then there's working beyond them.
  10. Its not a brilliant design, some suginos suffer the same problem. The long spacers let everything bend a little untill the chainring collapses.
  11. Sticking to your principles Ali, good man Dont think they had elections here, couldnt see a polling station anyway.

  14. Kona forks are a little bit lightly built for trials, pretty flexy and dont really stand up well. And unless gusset have changed the design, when we lobbed my friend's pair of those straighblade forks on the scales they came out at almost 1700 grams.
  15. Cos viz couldnt work the english language to save their lives. It means sandblast, a matt finish rather than shiny.

Both my friend's, I'm his right hand man I could scrap uni and work now, and work fulltime on his stuff (5 lorries, 2 traction engines and a railway loco) for the rest of my life and we'd still have jobs left to do. Hopefully, some of that will be mine in time
  18. The amount of steam released stays the same however many times you boil it, all the first boiling does is to drive out any gases dissolved in the water e.g. (air/oxygen, found in most water, its what fish breath)
