    Rb....

Bored out RB cylinder to take the magura piston is a more elegant way to do the trick

Its the way to get good efficiency, and they will run to the moon. Chances are the fairground rides you went on as a kid had a couple of those powering them.

The toy I play with: 10 litre, 150 horse, crash 'box and no power steering. Proper man's transport

Are those the ones that share the bodyshell with the mk2. Jag? Has yours got a pre-selector 'box?
  5. Those frames are bloody solid, the only bit that ever really broke was the disc mount and that version has the strengthened one so its all good really. bit lighter than most hardtails of that kind too.
  6. Thats been polished though hasnt it. Cant quite see in the pics but the edges look like theyve been re-knurled?
  7. Creepy crawlers are super tacky anyway. Mike, is there any change in price or specs of the other tyres or are they just dropping the one compound?
  8. Echo rims only come in 32 hole. Profiles (at the time at least) commonly came in 36. And ignoring anything else, Craig made it work therefore it was brilliant
  9. Dish, the centring of the rim compared to the hub. To be blunt, the "lay wheel on ground, mark position on wall, pray to the gods and invoke beelzebub" method just sounds dodgy, flipping the wheel round in the frame is far quicker and easier. Each to their own.
  10. The not freewheeling problem may be down to the SS spacer kit. If its not long enough then it allows the lockring to rub on the bearings/seals/whatever inside the freehub. That could also be causing the loosening. One of the 0.5mm freewheel thread spacers on the cassette body does the trick nicely. If the tensioner is a simple single wheel one and you're tensioning by pulling the chain downwards, that can also cause the chain to skip as there isnt as much contact around the sprocket as there should be. Best way to true a wheel is get one from the scrapyard and play about with it for a few hours, that way you're not bothered if you trash it.
  11. Normally i wouldnt piss on nick if he was on fire, but he really hasnt said anything wrong. A bit of constructive criticism and realism doesnt give you lot free reign to go "owwwwwww its just cos we're girls".

  13. Bloody hell thats a turn up for the books remember the mono trial has rather wide pads, so the disc ideally needs to be just as wide. I think the improved mono trial rotor should be turning up sometime soon

  15. Chainsuck. New chainring is the cure.
  16. Elaborate, how is an overpriced chain of exactly the same pitch going to solve the problem?
  17. There's a step in the bore, right at the end to prevent the piston falling out, that may be what your calipers were measuring
  18. tried soaking it in some hot soapy water? that usually helps to free hydraulics off.
  19. By working, Boumsong means he has been very very lucky that it all fits together and doesnt rape bearings Its pretty slack, if you landed a sidehop to stay then the chain would just come upwards without doing any damage. Hub takes six years to engage mind.
  20. Those are ratios, dimensionless numbers. The magura will work better on a stock bike in theory, in practice its just closer to the ground and pics up more crap hehe
  21. That'll be the one that keeps popping up on ebay then
