  1. The only thing fundamental around here is you. You might have missed this point, but believing in a nice man floating about on a cloud does not give you the right to talk down to us.
  2. So what is the problem, given that further up you said it shifts perfectly when the bike is in the stand?
  3. If its not skipping like a fairy, there's no problem. KMC chains do shift very slowly, theyre too wide and inflexible to whip up and down like a normal chain.
  4. Other way round you silly blackpoolian
  5. But seeing as ive blown the whistle, keep going on trialsboy
  6. Barely anyone rides 24" cos there isnt much choice, its a huuuuuuuge market and a good business move to make.
  7. The relative motion is the same, the outer always spins anti-clockwise compared to the inner (left hand freewheels excepted). The little bit of motion before the pawls engage would loosen it, but why do we get the problem so much on the front and hardly ever on the back?
  8. Quick exercise for the grey matter, why would a FFW lockring want to be threaded opposite hand to a RFW lockring? As far as I can see, the only forces acting to unscrew the lockring come from the relative motion between the inner and outer bodies, and thats the same wherever you put the freewheel. So yeah, why do front freewheels come undone so often? Edd
  9. How good you are and how smooth you are is largely beside the point when your hanging your entire weight plus a lot of momentum off the forks Were they both new sets?
  10. No, they aint compatible, so i wouldnt try it if i were you. Tried adjusting the lever with an allen key?
  11. 22:16 is pretty slack, almost the same as 18:13 22:15 is nice, a little slacker than 18:12, works well in my books
  12. Thats pretty much your choices im afraid FSA platinum or Truvativ DH are the cheapest i can think of
  13. 128, with two or possibly 3 spacers on the driveside. They're a real pain to get clearance on.
  14. Oulton Park Or Three Sisters at Aintree, but I think they only do days for razzing about in ferraris and karts and the like.

    New Frame

Looks spot on Is the BB shell wider than normal by any chance? Just looks a little bit different.
  16. Hour ish, half an hour if im rushing. Always quicker with all new bits.
  17. Thats the vandal hubs, the homers take normal spokes.
  18. How can something with specialist bearings, a chunky one piece axle and a unique interface look cheap? It looks a good design, the point about it breaking is if it does, the owner is more than likely to be rich enough to have a platinum pro or summat in the toolbox as a spare.
  19. Thats a bit sweeping, it took me a good 20 minutes to get my mate's wheel back to a state i'd be happy to hand it back in.
  20. Grease/oil/something on the threads and spoke seats helps tremendously with getting the spokes tight
  21. Wanting moveable mounts for 24" is a relatively new need, as is having disc only forks.
  22. Pace have made them for years, but as said, the trick is making them stay put under heavy braking. All assuming they'll fit the fork, i can think of quite a few that dont have round legs.
  23. You might disagree, but its perfectly f**king true
  24. On a selfish note, death is a bad thing. You lose the love, care, support and advice of someone. May be the case for you, not for me and not for a lot of the people I know. Theyre not religious people though, thats perhaps the difference.
  25. Yeah, ive been in the "come here its a brilliant place to ride" scenario. Upshot was one stolen bike and a bruised face Untill someone (preferably the big man himself) tells me why its such a good idea to let people suffer, I'll leave church to those who need it to support them. And if any bugger uses the argument "because its meant to happen that way", I'd like to show them the grave of a good friend of mine, and ask them why I had to lose him.
