  1. at +50? Chainstays are mega long. Pretty affordable though, doubt we'll see a frame from tarty at that price again!
  2. It isn't this one is it? Here's my 04 pitbull. First real trials bike in 09....
  3. What rim/tyre/tube combo? Wider rear rim, dual ply tyre, downhill innertube... all should reduce the amount of punctures If you still get flats, you need to get smoother.
  4. Hey, made these two fairly quickly... new mod frame mant i used up all the clips i had remaining... not very good but ive only ridden it 3 times The bails and fails video is honetsly quite funny, i think its worth a watch
  5. Hey there, spent some time making some videos recently... so here's the second on the Zhi. I hope you lot like
  6. Yup.... mine used to wear out a lot quicker when i had to ride 3 miles to my nearest spot / train station to get anywhere else. On the plus side my front disc brake always seemed to work better than anybody elses.
  7. Id try and find an 04...the same as you already have
  8. As above really, ive just faced a hub off that had distorted disc mounts, and a distorted axle spacer. As a result the disc mount isn't at the correct spacing from the forks disc mount. Could someone tell me what the distance is meant to be ( pretty sure it's fairly standardized to allow any brake on any disc hub etc ). Cheers, Alex
  9. ah thats a shame! I have literally no idea how good it is, but im up for riding if you fancy coming out
  10. pretty sure service kits aren't available. but strip the lever down ( blade off, allen key to poke the piston out ) and take to a hydraulic suppliers or measure the o-ring yourself and order online * if they're the same as the old ones / maguras it will be a simple round section o-ring
  11. 2 bolt booster for sure... my zhi has no booster at all integrated and with a try-all the brakes spot on
  12. My thoughts exactly... still too heavy then the best part would be the wheels to begin really saving weight ( rotational mass has more of an effect due to centripedal force )
  13. My thoughts exactly... or tube? But that'd wear out really quickly. Ideal solution is dont use it
  14. Hey, coming up to see some family, would love to get out riding in that time... if anyones near by ( im based in Ecton , i think thats the name... fairly close to Kingsthorpe? ) If you fancy it, just post in here add me to facebook, pm me , call me etc 07972906755 Cheers, Alex
  15. Because the frames dont have vee mounts Using adaptors would increase the weight considerably I havent seen any comp riders running vee for a few years ( I know Ali did at one time and won a round of the worlds on Vee, but it certainly isnt very popular anymore. ) I don't know whether they're just seen as outdated or are actually worse.... but if i was building a mod I'd always go dual disc personally Alex
  16. No way it would get hot enough to burn the oil off on a pushbike surely? ( not saying youre wrong ive just never heard of doing it this way )
  17. That ^^ Also the Echo lite 2011 would be worth a look at...can be picked up for around £600-750 brand new.
  18. You'll never get a proper conclusive answer dude... but my vote goes to Coust pads ( ones from trialprod/ coust bros, they just seem to work better for me ) or as Nick says Koxx browns.
  19. To be honest id just get rid and get soemthing you know will work well. The money you spend on getting decent pads could go towards dare I say it, a hope or a BB7.
  20. Zona Zip had the cnc'd "wings" of the 05 python. I reckon Black Mumba
  21. Yup...old ashton justice used 73mm shell. My gigapipe I used to use was 73mm with a 5mm spacer, so you can always space it out ( the same size as freewheel spacers ).
  22. Haha of course it is Clever Alex.....
  23. Ive never done it but id imagine it would : A) be far too soft, and wear away ridiculously fast. ( try the bite test compared to some " soft trials pads" like onza citrus or TNN LGMS B ) Leave rubber shavings behing you like some kind of Hansel and Gretel re-enactment. C) have a VERY low shear strength, and if the pad did grip on the rim would literally rip a good portion of it out of the backings. D) Be disgustingly spongy at the lever if the pads were of any considerable thickness. Edit: After a quick google it appears people use erasers to clean their smooth rims and remove debris: Mavic Rim Eraser
