  1. awesome course. first run was bone dry and the hard tail suited it pretty well. then had slight drizzle which only affected one switchback and added 0.1s to m run time so overall exremly happy
  2. I used dj3 for street and dirt jumping freeride and downhill. Perfect all round forks.
  3. I spent a few quid n got : m4 tech front. Lx chainset, renthal 44t ring, funn seat, minions front, high roller rear. Did qualifying today, got a 1.08, fastest in seniors was 1.01, I got 4th. Final on Thursday hopefully I can smash it then too. Also got 10th in the army xc champs and 30th in a tissue hill climb. All on the tRUSTY dmr Haha. I'll stick a pic up in a min. Tissue?? Lol * roadie.
  4. it is road legal c20xe engine? look a lot like one with the shape of the plug cover and the distributor position
  5. have a look at the etching in the bottom rear corner of the front windows. it should say something along the lines of 70% minimum. which means from the factory even though they look clear they still only let 70% light through, which means any degree of tint put on them is illegal. iv had 50% front and 90% rears on various cars and as long as you dont drive like a dick and give attitude to coppers they wont have a problem.
  6. not sure if the RAF is the same but in my job you only get a drivers licence if you need one for your trade. however i already had my car licence before i joined and now have the scope to get others. that seems to be the main question people ask when joining the forces, like they are only joining to get licences so they can do hgv flt etc when they leave.
  7. same as soon to be said army is much better anyway.
  8. geat stuff thansk guys. im goin to try and borrow a bike off someone though, id much prfer to have a full sus DH setup. after a bit of a chat about my previous riding with my Sgt Major today i will now be enetering the 'Hill Climb', '4 cross' and 'downhill' 7 races over the space of 3 days. my legs are going to die..... oh well at least it gets me out of camp for a week lol.

  10. well i have put my namke forward to comepete in The Army Cycling Championships in the downhill category now my question is - will my DMR trailstar2 be up to the job? obviously its hard tail, with Dirtjump3 forks, hope hubs dmr rims dmr three peice cranks. im going to get a pair of maxxis high rollers and its single speed. iv been told dh in the uk at novice will be ado-able on a hardtail but will single speed be up to it?
  11. let the flaming commence: id get that and rip the horrible kit off.
  12. having used both snap on and halfords kit i would say for the weekend mechanic go with halfords when i was mechanicing full time if anything broke the snap on van would be round the same say to replace it. however now im not full time i have loads of snap on stuff broken and just othad it replaced for years. halfords is much easier and accesable. similar quality too

f**king gobby little shits thinking they know everything about cars because they have been at a college one day a week for a few months, being talked at by some failed ex mechanic who couldn't manage a career at it himself so decided to blag it and make himself feel good by reciting from text books to kids whilst they don't listen. Diploma? ohh laa dee dar!! aint worth shit. I assume by the lack of replies from the OP that the issue has been sorted now? alistair14 - please make my day and just try and defend yourself.
