  1. was what i was saying, alex has been sent home, to the village, on the survivors island. and those people on sawyers/kate/jacks island are working on a project.
  2. salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt, our hearts littering the topsoil. jimmy eat world - salt, sweat, sugar 1st edit : added the next line, couldnt remember it till i listened to the song 2nd edit : i know this isnt what you said the lyrics, but a number of my mates used to sing it as salt, sweat, sugar on the outside. and even now, it was the second time i listened to the chorus when i remembered it was our hearts, not aha.
  3. erm, it was dark, sayid and jin where watchin the forest, sun was sound inside the boat, a raft could of easily floated up or been driven up on an electric motor easily. but yea its entirely possible they could have a sub. but would of thought it would of made them way more powerful than they were. and if they had a sub, why use a fishing boat to go after michaels raft.
  4. you can buy a can of the stuff for £1.79 in total garages i think, well i saw some there last week, which is fine short term, just seems stupid to pay £1.79 for under a pint, when you can get better quality protein for 50p a pint if bought in bulk.
  5. yea they do, best value stuff ive found for what i need(high protein, low carb content - i dnt need carbs, got enough fat for like 3 years energy as it) is nutrisport 90+, comes in at £48 for 5kg on ebay, which works out at like 50p for every pint of the stuff, buts its like a chocolate milkshake, so is worth it for the taste, and if your only taking 2 servings a week(if you have one big ride on a saturday for example). then itll last you a year. if however, your a skinny mofo.who finds it awkward to gain any weight, then some of the stuff which is like 50%protein, 50% carbs, may be better, and comes in at like £30 for 5kg. can buy it in holland and barrett, buts its expensive, and often low quality.
  6. yea, theyve got points they want to be upto at each season, and currently these points lead upto the end of series 7, although they could cut it at any point. but as the viewing rights to seasons 3 and 4 have been sold, its going to go on for that long at least. but think the programs going a bit waywood now, and no longer makes sense. i.e the whole village thing at the start of season 3,was on the same island, and there now on a different island. also bear in mind that claire was taken to a medical facility on the main island.where she met tom, alex rousseau etc. and now all the others appear to all be living on a second island all of a sudden. and on the same point, think back to the encounters they had with tom when he was wearing the beard. and the whole "this is the line, you cross it, and your in trouble" . well at that point they were on the main island. and if they keep on moving islands, i think its proved rather important that theyve only ever been seen with one boat, which they gave to michael. and it was so important to get hold of the sail boat rather than distroy it. so im taking it they dont have a fleet of 12 man ribs for transport between the islands. EDIT : just realised in episode 6 after watching over a bit of it again, ben is told that alex rousseau has been sent home, so im presuming now that it makes a bit more sense, and what we saw in the season opener was infact home, on the 1st island, and where they (the others) all live, and certain members are on a project on the second island. (hence the digging, rock hauling etc)
  7. protein shakes, or at least upping the protein in your diet, when you ache the achings your muscles crying out for the carbs and proteins it needs to repair itself after exertion. if youve ate plenty of food, chances are your in need of protein, could just go eat white meat, and tuna, but personally id take a protein shake or 2, perhaps take one before you go out riding, then one before you go to bed that night. pretty much stopped riding hard now, but get the same aches from liftin weights/training etc. drinking 2 pints of protein shake a day really helps stop the aching. also fills a gap, and mines chocolate flavour, so stops you feeling hungry and stops the feeling of wanting chocolate. so i eat less crap too.
  8. wouldnt have to be that loud, im known for not liking loud music in my car, but when i had the 306, and a crappy sub, from 6 inches away, could knock over an empty coke can at my normal listening volume, seen fairly low priced set ups throw empty coke cans a couple of feet. if hes got a decent sub, could easily cause enough movement for a hard drive platter to move 2mm. when theres a physical connection between it and the sub
  9. short, answer, yes it will cause damage, same as bouncing your computer round when its running does, its just gunna cause the hard drive platters to contact the readers and end up in disc damage, data loss and corruption etc. long answer, depends how powerful your sub is, where your hard drive is in the tower arrangement and if you wer to fit a laptop hd, then possibly no
  10. is she blind from birth though, if youve seen something, its likely stored, only if subconsciously in your memory. need some one whos been totally blind from birth.

    Idea

its a nice idea, but dont see it'd be that beneficial, as if i was interested in a ride, id just click on the topics with names that look like places close to me. also would be hard to orchestrate. how would you do it, counties, countries, cities??? you do countries, its rather wide, why would the a brighton rider be interested in a newcastle ride. you do it cities, seems kinda stupid, i live 65 miles from the nearest city. and many cities have crap trials scenes. i.e places like manchester are massive, but dont have a very big riding scene, compared to towns like loughborough, where it seems to be busting at the seams with riders. doing it counties is also rather stupid, take shropshire for example. theres like 5 of us i think on here who currently reside in shropshire, even though its one of the biggest counties in britain. an wed have a buzzin sub forum (me, jon rothwell, adamtrials, sam(forgot his second name, rides for clean bikes), tom neww(lankeman). and theres only 3 of us who ive seen post in the last 6 weeks. also would be kinda stupid, as id naturally go and look in the shropshire forum, which would have rides happening 70 mile away right on the other side of the county, whereas infact, would be quicker for me to pop up to say bangor, liverpool, birmingham, nottingham, derby etc. which would all be in seperate rooms. think itd be best off the way it is.
  12. on me wall i got ashton posters, 1 akrigg poster. may have some more rolled up in the corner of me room, all a3, came with mbuk, dont compare to the a2 steve peat, chris doyle, haro an eastern bikes ones i got. edit: just realised theres another akrigg one on the side of my door
  13. price for price, id say itd be down to personal preference, but as mr maher says. for £200 on ebay, you get a brand new zona zenith, with a chris king headset. meaning your gettin it for a hell of a lot cheaper than the ashton.(even if you dont want the headset, its got a nice high resale value brand new on this forum). and at the end of the day the zeniths pretty much a carbon copy of the xtp, which is a far dearer bike.
  14. just general coolness an proffessional look they can give to certain photos, makes them worthwhile. checked on ebay dave, theres various options at various costs for your camera, from full blown lenses, down to the screw on adapters, which the 0.22x variants with the zoom right back, will produce a fisheye picture for about £50. just depends how often you think your gunna use it as to whether it warrants spending a couple of hundred on a proper lens, or settle for the inferior image quality and £150 + to spend on your gf.
  15. ok, got a reasonable knowledge of pcs, but this ones got me baffled. got a laptop(asus a7t if you wanna be nosy) which i use most of the time, just cos it takes less space up in me room, got wifi so can watch porn in the garden etc. comes with a 100 gb harddrive which is split into 2 partitions c:(55gb) and d:(45gb or thereabouts) all the software came preloaded onto drive c:, so use that as me main hd for all programs and files etc. but have ran out of space on it, so about 2 months ago, but all me movies(about 8gb worth), my collection of prison break season 2(episodes 1 to 7 at the time) and lost season 3, (episodes 1 to 4 at the time). onto drive d:, went to add the rest of me files onto drive d(3 episodes of prison break, 2 episodes of lost), and now can open up drive d:, but whenever i open up a subfolder in that drive, an error message comes up saying windows explorer has to close, now i can open up the files which are already there while the error message is present. can transport new ones there, but it says there broken, and they have no size below them(i dont care to watch through 43 minutes of an episode i saw 2 days ago, just to find out it dont crash). any quick fixes you can think of? and failing that slow fixes??
  16. most classic car insurers insist on you being 21, and then no claims are irrelevant, and its cheap as hell. many mainstream insurers will insure classic cars at any age, and usually providing the vehicles are garaged, the premiums arent too bad. when i looked into a TR7, did find a company who would take me on a classic policy at 19, but they used no claims bonuses, meaning id not be able to have one on my main car.
  17. erm, doing pure trials, on a say a long low silver bike, then taking it for an xc session, would be madness(i did once ride coed y brenin for 26 mile on a monty urban with 22-15 gearing,no seat an flat bars). however if you look at the bikes people like shaun denny, ryan leech and the like use, 22t inner ring, 23t-11 rear sprocket. front sus. a bike like that would more than suffice for pedal hops, side hop ups, drop offs etc, just dont be expecting 48 inch vertical taps on it, however it would have a 1:1 ratio for climbing, yet still have a 2:1 ratio(same as most ss xc set ups) so could still hammer along. to be honest its not the gearing thats the problem, its the lack of sus, and seat thatll make xc hell. when i made the mistake of riding xc on the trials bike, only time i was noticably slower than anyone else was on the flat fireroads. downhill i had gravity getting me going along at a good speed, on the technical down hill sections i just hopped round the lot, so was a lot faster than a lot of people, and due to me gearing, or lack of it, on the climbs i had no choice but to keep it in that gear and pedal, so still achieved a reasonable climbing speed.and had a lighter bike. but as i say if u wanna mix it up, get either a ryan leech signature frame or the like, or jst a street(street as in dirt/street, not urban trials) frame thatll take forks. wont be ideal, but then 3 years ago, we wer all riding small hard dirt frames, azonics, dmr's.kona scraps, they wer all we had to ride trials on back before koxx, echo etc.
  18. pm wright pads. hell possibly sort you out with a set, dependant on wether hes actually made them yet, or sold them all. price is again something hell sort you out with, and dont know whose tested this compound. basically pm him with the questions.
  19. stupid comment,do it on looks, 1) im sure thats prejudice 2) you saying if i go have a shave, do my side parting all nice, whack on my shirt, wooly jumper in pastel colours, bron courdouroys(with breaches) and some hush puppies, im responsible enough to drink. yet tonight i feel like wearing me hackett top, ripped denims, me lacoste trainers, aquascutum jacket, an AJ cap. im then because of my clothing choice, obivisouly a casual, and so shouldnt deserve to drink. as for the comment about well dressed people with a good dialect being allowed to buy weapons, because there clearly not going to hurt someone,im sure there was, and possibly still is a small group of criminals, who are normally well dressed, yet have been known to be slightly violent, think they were called, wat was it, the mafia?? so there allowed to go buy 15 inch bowie knives(because of cause your armani suit is perfect hunting gear) yet the roofer walking in wearing his trackies an nike shox, cant buy a stanley knive, cos he looks like he might be a rude boi. and i dont know where you come from, but around my end, not every group of chavs drink a 12 pack, go nick a car, and crash it. some will actually go back to there social service housing, get drunk, and watch some films, order a chinese, whack MoTD on,have a spliff an hit the sack.
  20. personally even at £1500, id be tempted to take a loan out as opposed to paying the insurance. all depends on your excess, your situation and your aims over the next couple of years. if youve got a £300 excess, plan on insuring a car in your own name next year, and would in 18 months like to upgrade your car to something slightly sportier(or any time in the next 5 years). then id strongly suggest paying the £1500, as i said in the 12 months following my crash, i had an £1100 bill and would of been at least £1800 out of pocket. however if its a low excess, your a fan of boozy cruising, cudnt really be arsed as to what car you have, or plan on going on your parents insurance, then insurance may be more desirable. also if u think ur gunna crash again in the next few months, might as well go through insurance anyway.
  21. depends what you class as better. car control wise. its men hands down, out of all my female mates that drive, wouldnt say a single one has a pinch on me when it comes to clutch control, knowing when a cars gunna lose grip, accurately judging braking distances. but ive got a few male mates that would take me to the cleaners on this kinda thing. however thats due to the macho male pursuit of pushing yourself to, and beyond your limits. where as women drivers are happy to sit in a comfort zone, men like to know how far a car can go before it eats you up and spits you out the passenger window. better is in more legal, observing road signs, not speeding, obeying traffic signals, then its women. although there lack of spacial awareness and concentration does bother me. safer - meh. driving within your limits. women are most likely to crash, but men are less likely to drive within there limits. obiviously there are exceptions to this rule, and when it comes to being crap at parking arguments, they dont work, cos it aint who can drive best, at the end of the day, its just turning a wheel and lifting a pedal. its down to being able to think logically, and hand-eye-brain co-ordination.
  22. wont happen, well wont take off, anything can happen, wooden frames could happen as a proto, just wouldnt take off. get urself a steel pole, and a same size carbon fibre pole(fishing pole would be an example). now swing each one against the corner of a wall. now after you picked up 800 carbon splinters off the floor, and you look at your heavily dented steel tube. go look at ur downtube, and all the dents on it. boom.. reason carbon frames are never viable.
  23. yea, point taken, for regular birthdays, but for 18 and 21, you want something to remember.not a few pieces of paper with the queens head on.
  24. most engineering companies, and garages will oblige, or if your semi proficient can buy a helicoiling kit of ebay quite cheaply. if you want someone off TF to do it, then pm lawnmowerman, hell sort it out, but at a highish price(his prices arent extortionate, there cheaper than youd pay at a engineering company, but youll be posting the frame to him, and then him back to you)
