  1. Do those spacers have any knurling to help them grip the dropout? If not you could try using some knurled washers in there, like these: http://modelenginenews.org/gallery/images/knurl_samples.jpg

Ooooh OK. Yeh, you're still silly though, as I don't like Fazers, so you're very silly for buying one.
  3. I'd use WD40 personally, as I've used it before. Seemed to blast most of the crap out.

Errm, tried phoning them up and asking them? How can we say whether they'll have cancellation fees or if it's worth doing? Silly.
  5. This. It's way more hassle than it's worth, much easier and better value for money to buy a complete stock, selling the mod if needs be.
  6. You could have done better with those trees, a piece of string and some bin liners!
  7. I was attempting to poke fun at the posts I often see on here comparing CNC and cast stuff as if they're different processes, even though they're usually both used somewhere down the line. Clearly I failed. Anyway I'll try to be helpful instead, I'd doubt those marks are from the casting of the billet the hub shell was made from, as the rest of the hub shell has been machined and doesn't show any imperfections.
  8. Not exactly sure why this amused me.... Not worthy of embedding really, but I'll post the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeIgu3BQS7w
  9. No, all Hope stuff is CNC'd from billets. Duh...

Databases. Probably the hardest exam of the year haha. Not looking forward to it at all.

I have a nasty habit of failing (or scoring very badly) in exams, I need all the help I can get haha.

I've had several offers to go climbing today, seems that everyone I know is going out to play, and I'm stuck in revising for my exam on Wednesday. Mind you, I did get to go climbing yesterday so it's not all bad.

    Emphasis on "little"...
  14. Went to see Fast and Furious 6 tonight, was totally awesome.
  15. You might be able to copy the stuff off from the Live CD should it boot, I think I've done it that way before but it was many years ago.

Depends, do you want a project or just something you can ride?
  17. Sweet cheers dude. Sounds like the best option so far. I'm guessing the replacement cam followers are made of a tougher material? I'll be looking for something relatively cheap to insure, cheapish to run, 50mpg+, 5 doors, space for 5 10-15 stone climbers each with a 45-65l rucksack (at a push, so a fairly big boot would be ideal), but something that's a little bit more fun to drive than a normal hatchback. Don't really fancy an estate yet, maybe one day but for the time being I've got a thing for "hot" hatchbacks haha. Just doing research really, as it'll probably be a year before I buy anything... Obviously prices will be different then, but I'm interested now so I've been spending a bit of time in between revision researching the possibilities.
  18. You should be able to copy the files from the hard drive easily enough, just take the HDD out and connect into another computer, either natively or via a sata-usb adapter.

The riding position might have something to do with you being a lanky b*****d and the CG being designed for tiny little Asian people. (They've sold millions in Vietnam, China and Japan). I found that the suspension was the worst thing on the bike, far too soft and wallowy. Made them weave about in high speed corners I found. Anything over 50mph was almost dangerous. Wasn't exactly free, would have cost me more to keep it running for a year than it was worth, you saved me a fair few bob.
  20. Look at Ubuntu, you can boot it from a CD. If it boots then it shows everything is working fine and that the next logical step is to try reinstalling Windows on the laptop.
  21. Tried booting from a live cd? It sounds like an issue that's very hard to diagnose without being on site though...
