I think you may have ever so slightly missed the point... I'd choose to go alone on a trip like that. My Dad's done a few touring holidays round the UK and he's always said being on your own is better, because people are far more likely to come and chat to you, especially pensioners if you're riding a bike from the 50s/60s because they all used to have one. Pensioners tell interesting stories.

Paint. "Rawing" is soooo gay. They look like those chromed Apollos that were all the rage about 15 years ago.

I once did this in order to sand the grind off a rim, because the only pads I had were Heatsink Snowies and it would have eaten them alive. One freshly sanded rim and no booster later, and I had the loudest brake I'd ever heard. It was ear-splitting (literally, it was physically painful to ride after half an hour).

Genuine advice here, but this is the best technique I've found, very easy to master. Seems really painful, but usually saying "hello" in a mildly funny voice breaks the ice quite effectively.

Orly, I assumed a blow torch would be way hotter than 200C? I've had resin running out of the pads before with a blow torch so didn't want to get it any hotter.

I've tried everything to sort contaminated pads in the past, including burning the oil out of them with a blow torch. Nothing seemed to work, it was always just easier to replace them.

They can all be made to work. A carb is a carb really! I'd go for Mikuni flatslides though. Expensive and not awesome (but not shocking) on fuel, but very tuneable. Bike carbs are often very sensitive to the airflow, so if you take their standard airbox away and put them on a bigger engine, that's 2 issues you'd need to address. Honda CBXs are famous for being utter bastards to get the fueling right if you make any changes to the air/exaust flows.

Personally I'd go for the new GPU first if gaming is the only concern.
