  1. NES - can't beat it in my opinion. Also, how scary is it to think that the Playstation came out over 10 years ago!!!
  2. 11am at the station - see you all there (N)
  3. The car park is just over the bridge that's North-West of the station, and on the right in a big park. It was free on Sundays when I last went, but don't blame me if it's now a block of flates (I last went in September 2004) Hope that helps Tic, seeya Sunday, Stephen.
  4. Hmmm let me think, have I met your girlfriends parents? How the f**k should we know the answer to that??? Just go up to her mum AND dad, yes at the same time and say "I've been thinking of buying a burmese cat for Doris/Olivia/Betty but I obviously need your permission first, what do you think of the idea? How old's your girlfriend? Will she be going to university (no cats allowed) in the next 5 years or so? If the answer's yes, then no cat.

    Trains

www.National-Rail.co.uk or 08457 48 49 50 National Rail enquries. They'll have all the answers for you. Stephen
  6. Where and when are we meeting? I'll be coming in by car and parking in that big car park near the skatepark, up the road from the station. I can get to the station easily enough, so meeting there would be lovely - but what time? Fatmike, would be cool to meet you in person, for some reason i thought you lived oop north. I'll bring the camcorder alongm so I'll be filming stuff if I see some nice angles. Anyway, back to work, these essay don't write themselves... how good would that be! Stephen.
  7. Don't be stupid, anybody can be negative... What's the point of jumping on walls with a bike, it's not like the wall was in your way you could easily ride around it. Oh yeah that's right, you do it because you enjoy it, which is how ALL footballers start out. One day David Beckham got signed by Man U in the same way that one day Ed Tongue got sponsered by Pashley. The only difference is the amount of money floating about, and that's simply because football is a bigger sport. Lets face it, most people on here would love trials to get the same support as football because then most of us would be pros. I'm jealous and I can admit it, but I also like football so don't have an issue.
  8. I'm not sure exactly how it works, I'll have to speak to my friend in America. I'm sure they DO have relegation, and the teams who come up, and the teams that almost got relegated have first pick on new players. This makes the league a lot tighter which is why the superbowl has been won by 8 clubs in the last 12 years as opposed to the Premiership which has been won by Arsenal, Man U and Blackburn, or the FA Cup which has been won by Only Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in recent years.
  9. They should do what they do with the NFL. There's a cap on wages, plus the team that finishes the lowest in the league (without being relegated of course) gets first choice of players for the next season. All american football clubs get the same share of money as well, so over here in the Premiership Crystal Palace and Chelsea would recieve the same money from the FA and television rights despite Chelsea being on tv more often. Anyway, football is a great sport. It's important to consider that Man U play about 70 games a season compared to Exeter's 38. Pus if Exeter's striker has an affair we wont find out about it... Wayne rooney on the other hand. It's very diffucult to compare these two teams. Exeter had nothing to lose by getting knocked out, Man U did.
  10. There was a gay porn site too... :( Just there to see who's paying attention
  11. Here's my desktop, nice and tidy but nothing too exciting going on.
  12. I'm coming, rain or shine - I'll be there. (there's that underground bit if it's raining)
  13. I might be able to come. It all depends on a number of factors such as availability of girlfriend, loan of mother's car, rain, windspeed, pollen count etc. But yeah, if you're lucky then I'll come along for the ride, Stephen.
  14. Oh yeah, some scouse twat and his son in Liverpool shirts, who laughed his head off at Matt Staples because he didn't quite make a huge switch on a rail. It hardly makes me want to go to Liverpool, he was a lousy ambassedor for his home town!
  15. You see them in London quite often, this one for example at Bank in London, I was riding there whilst he made it. They're very impressive, much better than buskers who paint themselves like a zebra and stand still on the millenium bridge. This one is brilliant!!!! Stephen
  16. I like Spring, I like Summer, I like Autumn and I like Winter. They've all got their advantages, and I've always been able to find time to ride throughout all of them. However in the past few months University has been getting reall full on, and I find myself waiting for the Easter holidays, and then the Summer holidays to come along so i can have a guilt free break from work knowing that I don't have any work to be getting on with. As it happens I usually prefer the Winter. I like the dark, and once you're out riding, the cold isn't really a problem. It gets dark at 4pm throughout the Winter, so you can have night rides galore. I was aiming to make a night riding video, but I've only been out riding about twice since the end of October. What point am I trying to make... hold on it's coming, but first take a look at this photo.... It's me riding in Sandbanks (Poole/Bournemouth) a couple of years ago. It was really warm then, and I could ride wherever I wanted. You see in the Winter I only ride locally, because if it gets rained off then you're not too disappointed. So, this Summer make sure you go somewhere, somewhere far far away where there's new stuff to ride. Plan it in advance and make sure you get out and do it, because come October, the clocks will go back, it will be cold again and there'll be a little voice in your head going crazy because you only rode locally. If you don't have much money, then maybe now is the time to save up. The train isn't going to cost more than £25 to get wherever you want to go. I've been lucky enough to ride a fair few places across the South, so I thought I'd list a few along with how good they are... London - A truly brilliant location to ride, even when you've ridden there 100 times before. You can't see everything in a day because there's so much stuff spread out all over the place. The atmosphere in the Summer is second to none, there are so many tourists around and they'll all stop to take photos, applaud and ask silly questions. Poole - There's has lots of stuff to ride, the harbour and the walls outside the Dolphin centre are pretty easy to find, but there's also a lot more stuff hidden down side roads. The harbour is a mixture of benches, rails and round circular pillars all spaces out to give you endless lines. There are gaps over the harbour, some small, some big and once you get bored, you can move further down towards all the rocks. Bournemouth - This place is really good for trials, but there are so many people about during the summer that almost every wall has a fat old lady eating an ice cream on it. It's best to ride Bournemouth in the evening, with a few of the locals as it's fairly tricky to find your way around. A 30 minute ride down the coast is Sandbanks where there are lots of rocks and drops to the sand, and 10 minutes from Sandbanks is Poole (above). Milton Keynes - Once people found out that Ed Tongue and Kris Leeson rode here regularly, Milton Keynes got a bit of a good reputation. I'm not quite sure why. It's very quiet, and very bland, and there's not very much to do. Saying that, if you go with a few of the locals then you'll be satisfied for a day. so long as you weren't expecting a brilliant location. You'd be better off riding London than Milton Keynes, even if you've been to London before. Southampton - When I rode here, I didn't go with any of the local riders, so it was a matter of finding stuff out for myself. I'm sure we missed lots of places, but what we found was very impressive. Outside Southampton Central train station is a place with what seems like endless lines across bollards, walls of varying heights and a few benches thrown in for good measure. Provided you meet up with a few others from the area then you'll have a great day. Portland - is a bit of land that jutts off the coast just past Weymouth. It has nothing but rocks, but the sheer amont of them could keep anybody happy. Kris Leeson rode here in a recent MBUK article. There are quarries miles wide filled with nothing but rocks, plus there's Portland bill, by the sea where there are, that's right, more rocks. Don't come here if you don't like rocks or if you're a beginner because you're going to struggle big time. Reading I know I keep saying this, but go with the locals for Reading as it's hard to find everything otherwise. There's plenty to do here as most of you will have seen from videos, but it can be a bit disappointing in the rain - but where isn't. They're the main locations I've been to, and this Summer I'm going to make sure I visit even more. Bristol, Porthcawl, Portsmouth, Reading (again), Brighton/Worthing and maybe even somewhere oop north - Nottingham, Leeds possibly. This post has been a bit random, but I've decided that now is the time to start doing your research. Look for videos on trials forum of places you'd be interested in going to. Pick the best places and go there. It doesn't matter if you're not very good, you'll meet loads of new people and probably find some small walls different to the ones back home. Where are you lot going this Summer, and where have you been in the past? I'd be interested to know what other places are good to ride, that I haven't been to yet. Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to mention... comps! Comps in the Summer are much better than in the Winter, I'm hoping to do all the Summer comps at Essex and Hampshire - can't wait! Sorry for the essay, but I'm getting excited, Stephen
  17. It's not funny, it's just a silly sound made by Scatman John's best friend. As for ringtones, although they annoy the shit out of me, if everybody had the normal ring ring (like me) then I'd be reaching for the phone every 5 minutes. It would appear that if I get the ringtone "Gonna Give it to you" by X to the Z Xibit, there's more chance of somebody else having that tone than ring ring! Ring tones are the biggest waste of money in the world, I would never, ever ever spend money on one. EVER! Yes the crazy frog is annoying me!
  18. They give you a genre, at the moment I have to make a non-fiction film, a documentary for the simple amongst you. Next year it may be something different like a chase scene for example. No, 10,000 words isn't that much, but I've never written more than 3000 words myself, so if I do write a big dissertation it will be a big of a mission.
  19. As things stand, I don't like the brown, but once all your other (presumably black and silver) components have been added then it should break it up a bit. Then there's the advantage of never having a muddy bike again! Stephen
  20. Ever broken a leg or ankle? Trust me it's worse. At least you can walk without crutches which give you horrible calluses on your hands after 8 weeks. No pinning you say, bah! Everytime I break something I manage to do it properly - ie need an operation or two. Is it your wanking hand? If it is then we can send George Seamons round... Get well soon, Stephen.
  21. I have a few people blocked because they bring out the bad side in me. There are a few members who I can't help but argue with and vice verca so I've blocked them so I don't have to worry about counting to 10 before replying to what they've said. I'd never block somebody because they were irritating once or twice, otherwise it'd just be me in my own little forum. Stephen.
  22. Dissertations are silly, I get to do a 15 minute short film instead and a whopping 500 words to accompany it. Enjoy your 10,000 words. I'm currently writing 2000 words about Internet forums, I mean come on, I spend all my day on one! Media studies degree, easier than geting dressed. Like I said, hopefully i'll be along next week for some sexy riding.
  23. You'll all be pleased to know that I'm still at home writing a very interesting essay on "web communities" - I'll hopefully be out next weekend. Where did you guys ride?
  24. The riding was very impressive but the video was boring, I was waiting for it to end from the 3minute mark :turned:
  25. What annoys me is how the twats at Halfords have been given the Marts all day and got no good footage, I could have done a much better job of that footage and so could most people on here. They can point a camera at a presenter, but not at a moving object.
